When installing the SAMSUNG PM49H on a perpendicular wall, allow at least 40 mm of space between the product and the wall surface for ventilation and ensure that the ambient temperature is kept below 35 °C.

When installing the product on an indented wall, allow at least 40 mm of space above, 40 mm on the sides, and 40 mm below the product. Ensure the ambient temperature is kept below 35 °C.

Do not install the product in poorly ventilated spaces such as a bookcase or closet, as increased internal temperature may cause a fire.

To lock an anti-theft locking device on the SAMSUNG PM49H, follow these steps:

Fix the cable of your anti-theft locking device to a heavy object such as a desk.

Put one end of the cable through the loop on the other end.

Insert the locking device into the anti-theft lock slot at the back of the product.

Lock the locking device.

The remote control for the SAMSUNG PM49H includes the following functions:

Power button: Turns the product on or off.

Number buttons: Used to enter the password in the OSD menu.

Mute button: Mutes the sound. Pressing again or pressing volume control unmutes the sound.

Volume (+/-) buttons: Adjusts the volume.

Source button: Changes the input source.

Home button: Launches the Home screen.

Tools button: Quickly selects frequently used functions.

Info button: Displays information about the current input source.

Directional buttons (Up/Down/Left/Right): Moves to menu items or adjusts settings.

Return button: Returns to the previous menu.

Exit button: Exits the current menu.

MagicInfo Player I: Use this hotkey to directly access MagicInfo (available when a network box or PIM is connected).

After connecting a computer to the SAMSUNG PM49H with an HDMI-DVI cable, you must configure the settings to enable video and audio from the computer:

Go to Sound and set HDMI Sound to PC(DVI).

Go to Picture and set each screen mode to Text under Picture Mode.

Go to System, then General, and set HDMI Hot Plug to Off.

To increase the standby power capacity, the SAMSUNG PM49H stops DP communication when turned off or in power saving mode.

If the product in dual monitor mode is turned off or goes into power saving mode, monitor setting changes may not be updated. In the occurrence of this issue, set Max. Power Saving to Off before using the product.

Some graphics cards not compliant with the DP standard may prevent the Windows Booting/Bios screen from displaying when the product is in power saving mode. Turn on the product first before turning on your PC.

Use a VESA compliant DP cable. Non-compliant cables may cause function issues.

Click the MDC Unified installation program.

Select a language for installation and click “OK”.

When the “Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for MDC_Unified” screen appears, click “Next”.

In the “License Agreement” window, select “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and click “Next”.

Fill out the information fields in the “Customer Information” window and click “Next”.

Select the directory path for installation in the “Destination Folder” window and click “Next”.

Click “Install” in the “Ready to Install the Program” window.

Once installation progress is complete, click “Finish” in the “InstallShield Wizard Complete” window.

The MDC Unified shortcut icon will be created on the desktop.

To access the Player, navigate to HOME -> Player. This feature allows you to play content such as channels with assigned schedules, templates, or files.

To use the Player feature, ensure “Play via” is set to MagicInfo in the System menu.

Select between internal or external memory.

Select the desired file from the list to play it.

You can also play a Network Channel or content stored on the server if connected.

To use the URL Launcher, navigate to HOME -> URL Launcher Setting. Before using, set “Play via” to URL Launcher in the System menu.

Install Web App: Install a web application by entering an address.

Install from USB Device: Install a web application from a USB storage device.

Uninstall: Remove an installed web application.

Timeout Settings: Set the timeout period for connecting to the URL.

Developer Mode: Select to set developer mode.

Navigate to HOME -> Video Wall. Select “On” to organize a video wall.

Use “Horizontal x Vertical” to split the video wall display based on a matrix configuration. Enter the number of vertical or horizontal display devices (range 1 to 15).

Use “Screen Position” to rearrange split screens by adjusting the number for each product in the matrix.

Use “Format” to select how to display images: “Full” displays images in full screen with no margin, while “Natural” displays images in the original aspect ratio.

Navigate to HOME -> On/Off Timer -> On Timer. You must set the Clock before using this feature.

Setup: Select Off, Once, Everyday, Mon~Fri, Mon~Sat, Sat~Sun, or Manual.

Time: Set the hour and minute.

Volume: Set the desired volume level.

Source: Select the input source.

Content: Select specific content within the internal or external memory (available when source is set to Internal/USB).

Shop & Mall: Suitable for shopping malls.

Office & School: Suitable for offices and schools.

Terminal & Station: Suitable for bus terminals and train stations.

Video Wall: Suitable for environments where video wall displays are used.

Calibration: In this mode, brightness, color, and gamma settings customized using the Samsung Color Expert program are applied.

Note: You can select either Video/Image or Text mode depending on the selected picture mode to improve quality for video devices or computers respectively.

Navigate to Menu -> Screen Protection -> Screen Burn Protection.

Pixel Shift: Minimizes image retention by finely moving pixels horizontally or vertically.

Timer: Set the timer for Screen Burn Protection. It stops automatically after a specified period.

Immediate display: Select the screen saver you want to display immediately.

Connect a LAN cable to the product.

Press the MENU button on the remote control and select Network -> Open Network Settings.

Select Wired. The network test screen appears and starts verification.

If automatic setup fails or manual setup is required, select IP Settings.

Set IP Setting to Enter Manually.

Enter the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS Server values.

Select OK to verify the connection.

Press the MENU button on the remote control and select Network -> Open Network Settings.

Select Wireless. The product will search for available networks.

Select the desired network from the list.

If the router has security, enter the password (Security key or PIN).

Select Done and the network test will verify the connection.

Alternatively, if your router supports WPS(PBC), select “Use WPS” in the network menu and press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.

Navigate to System -> Time -> Clock Set.

Select Date or Time.

Use the number buttons to enter numbers or the up/down arrow buttons.

Use the left/right buttons to move between entry fields.

Press the Enter/Set button when done.

Navigate to HOME -> ID Settings -> Device ID.

Enter the ID number (Range: 0~224) using the up/down arrow buttons or the number buttons on the remote control.

You can also use “Device ID Auto Set” to automatically allot ID numbers to devices connected via RS232C.

If the screen keeps switching on and off, check the cable connection between the product and PC and ensure the connection is secure.

If blank spaces are found on all four sides when using HDMI or HDMI-DVI, adjust the screen size in the HDMI or DVI settings of the graphics card. If the option is unavailable, update the graphics card driver.

This message is displayed when a signal from the graphics card exceeds the product’s maximum resolution and frequency.

Refer to the Standard signal mode table in the manual and set the maximum resolution and frequency according to the product specifications.

Make sure that the batteries are correctly in place (+/-).

Check if the batteries are flat.

Check for power failure.

Make sure that the power cord is connected.

Check for any special lighting or neon signs switched on in the vicinity that might interfere with the signal.

Switch the power off or set the PC/System to run a screen saver when not in use.

Power off the product for 2 hours after using it for 12 hours.

Use a single-color or moving-image screen saver.

Regularly change colors: Switch between 2 colors every 30 minutes, or move and change text every 30 minutes.

Avoid combinations of text color and background color with contrasting brightness.

Avoid using grey as it may contribute to burn-in.

Regularly display a moving image along with a logo for 60 seconds after using for 4 hours.
