How should refrigerant piping be connected and installed for the Electronic Expansion Valve Kit?

1. Decide an installation place that can support the electronic expansion valve kit.

2. Connect the “IN” refrigerant pipe to the outdoor unit.

3. Connect the “OUT” refrigerant pipe to each indoor unit (A, B, and C). The liquid and gas pipes should not be crossed when piping connection.

4. Insulate the connection piping. A joint part of pipe needs double thickness of insulation.

5. The expansion valve has to be installed that the user has no access to it.

How should wiring be done and addresses assigned for the Electronic Expansion Valve Kit?

1. Connect the AC power cable and communication cable from the outdoor unit to terminal, then connect the cable to another electronic expansion valve kit.

2. Connect the AC power cable and communication cable to each indoor unit (A, B and C).

3. Align the SW51, SW52 and SW53’s addresses with A, B and C indoor units’.

What are the switch and connector assignments for indoor units A, B, and C when configuring the Electronic Expansion Valve Kit?

The switch and connector assignments are as follows:

Switch No. Appropriate indoor unit (Electronic expansion valve) Connector No.
SW51 A CN63(Yellow)
SW52 B CN62(Blue)
SW53 C CN61(White)

How can I understand the information displayed on the distributor kit?

The display provides the following information:

The numbers which are displayed on the left are the status of the indoor unit checking status through communication with the same outdoor unit. For example, if it indicates 1, 3, and 7, that means the ADDRESS of the indoor unit is set to 1, 3, and 7.

The numbers which are displayed on the right indicate the ADDRESS of SW51, SW52, and SW53 in sequential order. For example, if it indicates 0, 1, and 2, that means the SW51 is set to 0, the SW52 is set to 1, and the SW53 is set to 2.

What does it mean if an “Er→CO” message is shown on the distributor display?

If a communication error occurs in the distributor, the “Er→CO” message will be shown on the display alternatively.

What is the function of the keys (K1, K2, K3, K4) on the PCB of the distributor kit?

If you press a KEY on the PCB, the display will show you a step of the appropriate electronic expansion valve. The number displayed is multiplied by 10 to get the actual step value (e.g., if 19 is displayed, it means 19 x 10 = 190 STEP). The specific key functions are detailed in the table below:

KEY No. Meaning Example
K1 Step of electronic expansion valve A 19
K2 Step of electronic expansion valve B (19 x 10 =
K3 Step of electronic expansion valve C 190 STEP)
K4

The example “(19 x 10 = 190 STEP)” spanning K2 and K3 illustrates the calculation for determining the steps. For instance, if K1 displays “19”, it corresponds to 190 steps for expansion valve A.

What are the applicable capacities for the different distributor kit models based on indoor unit configurations A, B, and C?
