3. Ensure the Rubber-Feet are placed so they do not lie outside the edges of the TV stand when the Soundbar is positioned.

4. Carefully place the Soundbar on the TV stand, aligning the center of the Soundbar with the center of the TV.

5. If your model has microphones, ensure they are positioned at the front of the stand and not obstructed by the TV.

Note: Place the Soundbar on a flat, solid surface. Insufficient gap from the TV might cause voice recognition or acoustic issues (keep at least 2 cm away from TV panel for microphone performance).

How does the Auto Software Update feature work?

When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, software updates occur automatically, even when the Soundbar is turned off.

For Auto Update to function, the Soundbar must be connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi.

If the Soundbar’s power cord is disconnected or power is cut off, the Wi-Fi connection terminates. When power is restored or the cord is reconnected, turn the Soundbar on and reconnect it to the Internet for updates to resume.

How do I update the Soundbar software using a USB drive?

1. Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) and navigate to customer support.

2. Search for your Soundbar model name.

3. Download the latest firmware upgrade file (USB type). Refer to the Upgrade Guide for more details.

4. Unzip the downloaded file. This should create a folder containing the firmware.

5. Copy the created folder (with its contents) to the root directory of a USB storage drive.

6. Turn on the Soundbar.

7. Connect the USB drive containing the firmware folder to the SERVICE port on the bottom of the Soundbar.

8. The update should start within 3 minutes, displaying the message “UPDATE” on the Soundbar display.

Important:

Do not turn off the Soundbar or remove the USB drive during the update process.

If “UPDATE” does not appear, remove the power cord from the Soundbar, reconnect it, and try again.

If the latest version is already installed, no update will occur.

Update may not be supported depending on the USB drive type.

How do I initialize the Soundbar (reset to factory settings)?

1. Ensure the Soundbar is turned on.

2. Press and hold both the + (Volume Up) and – (Volume Down) buttons on the top panel of the Soundbar simultaneously for at least 5 seconds.

3. “INIT” will appear on the display.

4. The Soundbar will turn off, then back on, initialized to its default settings.

Caution: All Soundbar settings will be reset. Perform only when necessary.

Troubleshooting: Soundbar does not turn on.

Check if the power cord of the Soundbar is correctly inserted into the outlet and the Soundbar.

Troubleshooting: Soundbar works erratically.

Remove the power cord, wait a moment, and insert it again.

Power cycle any connected external device (e.g., TV, set-top box) and try again.

If there is no signal for a certain period (18 minutes), the Soundbar turns off automatically (Auto Power Down). Turn the power back on.

Troubleshooting: Remote control does not work.

Point the remote directly at the Soundbar.

Replace the batteries with new ones (2 x AAA).

Troubleshooting: The Soundbar indicator turns solid red.

The microphone is turned off.

Turn on the microphone using the Ø (Mic On/Off) button on the top panel (not applicable to HW-Q700C).

Troubleshooting: Sound is not output from the soundbar.

Check if the volume of the Soundbar is too low or muted. Adjust the volume.

If an external device (STB, Bluetooth device, mobile device, etc.) is connected, check and adjust the volume of the external device.

For TV sound output, ensure Soundbar is selected as the audio output on the TV. (e.g., Samsung TV: Home → Menu → Settings → All Settings → Sound → Sound Output → Select Soundbar).

Check if the cable connection to the Soundbar (HDMI or Optical) is secure. Remove the cable and connect again firmly.

Remove the Soundbar’s power cord completely, reconnect it, and turn the power on.

Initialize the product and try again.

Troubleshooting: Sound is not output from the subwoofer or the rear speakers.

Check if the LINK LED indicator on the rear of the Subwoofer and Surround Speakers is solid blue. If it’s blinking blue or solid red, they are not connected.

Try reconnecting the Soundbar, Subwoofer, and Surround Speakers using the manual ID SET procedure.

Check for obstacles between the Soundbar and the Subwoofer/Surround Speakers. Move devices to an area clear of obstacles.

Other devices nearby sending radio frequency signals (like microwaves, wireless routers) may interrupt the connection. Keep the speakers away from such devices.

Remove and reconnect the power plug for the Soundbar, Subwoofer, and speakers.

Troubleshooting: There is sound jitter, delays, or noise from the Subwoofer and Surround Speaker.

Ensure there are no objects between the Soundbar and the Subwoofer/Surround Speakers. Reposition if necessary.

Sound jitter or delays can occur if the Subwoofer and Surround Speakers are too far from the Soundbar. Place them closer to the Soundbar.

Interference can happen if the Soundbar is near electrical devices or instruments causing radio interference (e.g., wireless router). Move the Soundbar away from such devices.

If using a wireless TV connection, try changing the TV network connection status from wireless to wired.

Troubleshooting: The Subwoofer volume is too low.

The original volume of the content you are playing may be low.

Try adjusting the Subwoofer level using the WOOFER LEVEL +/- button on the remote.

Bring the Subwoofer speaker closer to your listening position.

Troubleshooting: TV is not connected via HDMI TO TV (eARC/ARC).

Check if the HDMI cable is correctly connected to the ARC/eARC terminal on both the TV and Soundbar.

Connection might fail due to a connected external device (set-top box, game console). Try connecting the Soundbar directly to the TV’s ARC/eARC port.

HDMI-CEC (Anynet+ on Samsung TVs) may not be activated on the TV. Turn on CEC in the TV menu (e.g., Samsung TV: Settings → Connection → External Device Manager → Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) ON).

If using eARC, ensure the eARC function is enabled in the TV menu (e.g., Samsung TV: Settings → Sound → Expert Settings → HDMI-eARC Mode → Auto).

Troubleshooting: There is no sound when connecting to the TV in HDMI TO TV (eARC/ARC) mode.

Your device might be unable to play the input signal. Change the TV’s audio output format to PCM or Dolby Digital (check TV settings, e.g., Samsung TV: Settings → Sound → Expert Settings → Digital Output Audio Format).

Troubleshooting: Soundbar will not connect via Bluetooth.

When connecting a new device, make sure the Soundbar is in “BT PAIRING” mode. Press the PAIR button on the remote or press and hold the Ø / (Source) button on the Soundbar body for at least 5 seconds.

If the Soundbar is already connected to another Bluetooth device, disconnect that device first.

Remove the Soundbar from the Bluetooth speaker list on the device you are trying to connect, then try pairing again.

The automatic TV connection feature (ON-TV CONNECT) might be disabled. While the Soundbar is in “BT READY” mode, press and hold the Left button on the remote for 5 seconds to select ON-TV CONNECT (If OFF-TV CONNECT is shown, repeat to switch).

Remove and reconnect the power plug, then try again.

Initialize the product and try again.

Troubleshooting: Sound drops out when connected via Bluetooth.

Radio interference can occur if devices like microwaves or wireless routers are too close. Move them away from the Soundbar.

If the connected Bluetooth device moves too far from the Soundbar, the sound may drop out. Move the device closer.

If a part of your body contacts the Bluetooth transceiver or the Soundbar is installed on metal furniture, sound might drop out. Check installation environment.

Troubleshooting: Soundbar will not connect to Wi-Fi.

Check if your wireless router is turned on.

Turn the router off, wait, turn it back on, and try again.

The Soundbar won’t connect if the wireless signal is too weak. Try moving the router closer to the Soundbar or removing obstacles between them.

If your wireless router is new, you need to reconfigure the Soundbar’s network settings using the SmartThings app.

Troubleshooting: The soundbar does not turn on automatically with the TV.

If you turn off the Soundbar while watching TV, power synchronization with the TV is disabled. Turn off the TV first, or ensure the Soundbar is left on.

Troubleshooting: The AVA function is not available.

The AVA function (Active Voice Amplifier, applicable models only) will not be available when the microphone is turned off. Ensure the microphone is on using the Ø (Mic On/Off) button.

Troubleshooting: After connecting the TV to the Soundbar, I switched the Soundbar mode and now no sound comes from the TV.

If you connect your Soundbar to a mobile device (e.g., via Bluetooth) while it is also connected to the TV, the Soundbar will output sound from the mobile device. The TV sound will be interrupted.

Disconnect the mobile device connection (e.g., turn off Bluetooth on mobile or switch Soundbar source) and the TV sound should resume output from the Soundbar.

Troubleshooting: The Soundbar does not appear in AirPlay2.

To enable AirPlay2, you must first register the Soundbar using the Samsung SmartThings app and agree to its terms.

AirPlay2 will not work if you delete the Soundbar from the Samsung SmartThings app.

Ensure the Soundbar and your Apple device (iOS 13.4 or later) are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
