The RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood is designed only for domestic use and must be used exclusively for this purpose.

Grease or oil-containing filters present a high fire risk.

Flambéing under the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood is strictly forbidden under any circumstances.

If the appliance malfunctions, contact customer service. Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself.

Ensure the room is well ventilated when operating the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood over a gas stove.

Accessible parts on the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood can become hot when cooking appliances are underneath.

Do not prepare flambéed dishes under the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood, as the open flame could destroy the hood or cause a kitchen fire.

If frying food, never leave the pan unattended, as the fat could catch fire.

Flambéing under the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood is not allowed due to the risk of fire, as the rising flame can ignite grease deposited in the filter.

Frying or cooking with oils and fats under the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood must only occur under constant surveillance due to the fire risk.

Other activities involving an open flame are not permitted as they could damage the filter or other parts of the appliance or even start a fire.

The air sucked in is blown outside through the exhaust duct.

An exhaust duct or pipe leading outside must be present in your house.

When using the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood in exhaust air mode and operating with chimney-dependent firing methods (e.g., coal oven), ensure adequate fresh air supply in the installation location. Always discuss this with your responsible chimney-sweeping specialist.

If a permanently installed exhaust air pipe or exhaust air shaft is not available, the hood must be operated in circulation air mode.

The inlet air is filtered through a carbon filter (also known as an active carbon filter) and circulated in the room. The carbon filter captures the odours produced through cooking.

The filtered air is circulated back into the kitchen through air openings at the side or on the top.

If the hood is used in circulation air mode, it is absolutely safe to simultaneously operate a room air-dependent fire.

It is recommended to switch on the appliance a few minutes prior to commencing cooking.

It is recommended with both exhaust and circulation air modes to run the fan for an additional approx. 5 to 10 minutes after cooking. This will free the kitchen air of any remaining steam and odours.

The following steps are recommended for improved hood performance when using the after-run function:

1. For improved hood performance, pull out the steam collector (where fitted).
2. Set the fan speed according to the amount of smoke and odours to be extracted.
3. Operate the hood for another ca. 5 to 10 minutes after finishing cooking.
4. Refit the steam collector (where fitted).

If the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood is fitted with an after-run function, this can be activated by an additional key on the control panel.

Prior to any installation, maintenance, or cleaning work, isolate the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood from the electrical supply by:

• Pulling out the appliance connector plug.
• Tripping the house installation circuit breaker or fully unscrewing the screw type fuse from the house installation.

The extractor hood is not to be cleaned with a steam cleaner.

Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol to clean appliances with a matt black finish, as these can lead to discolouring.

When cleaning the area of the control elements, take great care to prevent water from entering the electronics.

For special information for appliances with a stainless steel casing:

• A commercially available non-abrasive stainless steel cleaning agent should be used for cleaning stainless steel surfaces.
• Treatment with a stainless steel preservative is recommended to prevent surfaces from becoming quickly re-soiled. Apply the agent all over and economically using a soft cloth.

Never use stainless steel cleaning agents in the vicinity of the control elements.

When cleaning metal grease filters take care not to damage the mesh. Frequent cleaning or the use of aggressive cleaning agents can cause colour changes to the metal surface. These do not affect the filter function and are not grounds for complaint.

The following rules apply for grease filters:

Avoid using alkaline dishwasher cleaning agents (pH value over 7).

For carbon filters (not delivered with the appliance):

• Traditional carbon filters (normally round in shape) can be neither washed nor regenerated. They have to be replaced regularly, at least every 3 months or earlier, depending on the cooking habits.
• Washable and regeneratable carbon filters (normally square in shape) are to be washed once a month in a dishwasher, using a standard rinsing agent and with the intensive rinsing program (at the highest temperature). Washable and regeneratable carbon filters absorb kitchen odours for a maximum of 3 years when cleaned monthly. The filter should then be replaced by a new item.

Washable and regeneratable carbon filters should be washed separately to avoid food residue deposits which can later cause unpleasant odours.

After washing, the washable and regeneratable carbon filter must be reactivated by drying the cleaned filter in an oven for 10 minutes at 100°C.

Read the package to see whether your carbon filter is washable and regeneratable. If the package carries no information, then it contains a traditional, non-washable carbon filter.

When replacing a lamp, make sure that the new lamp does not have a higher wattage than that of the original RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood lamp.

If the documentation of the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood does not include an instruction for replacing LED lamps, the lamp must be replaced by customer service for safety reasons.

Check the following:

• Is the plug properly inserted in the socket?
• Is there a power supply failure?
• Has a fuse blown?

Check the following:

• Is the size of the exhaust air pipeline sufficient?
• Is the exhaust air duct blocked?
• The cross section of the air pipeline (from the hood to the wall box incl.) should be 120 mm. A smaller air pipeline cross-section can possibly impair the motor power.
• The air flow can be obstructed if the wall box is fitted with a fly mesh. If this is the case remove the fly mesh.
• If the cover plate of the wall box has fixed, very inclined louvres, you should remove the plate to check whether this solves the problem. Mount a cover plate with movable louvres in the wall box, as this will least obstruct the air flow.
• Is/are the filter(s) clean?
• Was/were the carbon filter(s) installed more than six months ago? Then this/these should be changed.
• Is the air taken from the kitchen being replaced by sufficient fresh air, so that no partial vacuum is being produced in the room?

Check the following:

• Does the lamp need changing?
• Has the lamp been properly fitted and seated in the holder up to the stop?
• Is the fuse blown or has the circuit breaker tripped out?

If all the above checks fail to remedy the fault, do not attempt to repair the electronic/electrical components in the appliance. Contact customer service.

After connecting the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood to the socket, the background lighting of all buttons is switched on. The LED display “A” does not light up. The cooker hood has no function and is in standby mode. The backlight of all buttons is automatically switched off after 2 seconds without any operation.

To open the front cover and start operation:

1. Tap the ON / OFF key “F”. The front cover of the cooker hood is opened. The backlight of this key is on, the motor is running at low speed and the light is on. The backlighting of the “B”, “C” and “D” keys lights up.
2. Tap the ON / OFF “F” key again. The front cover of the hood is closed. The background lighting of all buttons goes out, the cooker hood is switched off and returns to standby mode. The “B” and “C” keys can only be operated when the cover is open. The “D” key (light ON / OFF) can also be operated when the cover is closed.

To select the desired power level:

1. Use the “B” and “C” buttons to select the required power level.
2. Tap the “C” key. The motor runs at the lowest power level.
3. Tap the “C” key again to go to the second power level.
4. Press the “C” key again to go to the third power level. The display shows 1, 2 or 3 at the respective power level.
5. To reduce the power level, press the “B” key repeatedly until the desired power level is shown on the display “A”.

To switch off the cooker hood, tap the ON / OFF button “F”.

Timer: With the timer button “E” you can set a running time of up to 5 minutes (with the device switched on). The motor and lights switch off automatically after the set time. The timer can be set again or switched off before the set time expires.

Attention! If a new power level is set after activating the timer, the timer will automatically be deactivated.

There are 2 sensors on the control panel (refer to O on the picture).

To operate the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood in Gesture Sensor mode:

1. Wave your hand once from the left sensor to the right sensor within 8 cm from the front of the sensors. The front cover of the cooker hood will be opened. The cooker hood will start to work at low speed and the LED display will show “1”. The lights will be lit on. The backlights of the following keys will be on: +0
2. Wave your hand from left to right again, the cooker hood works at mid speed and the LED display will show “2”. Wave your hand in the same direction as above for another time, the cooker hood works at high speed and the LED display will show “3”. Wave your hand in the same way again when the hood works at the highest speed, the hood will work at the same speed.
3. When you wave your hand from right to left once, the cooker hood will shift to a lower speed. When the hood works at high speed, wave your hand from right to left, the hood will switch to mid speed. The backlights of the following keys will be on: +0
4. When the hood works at mid speed, wave your hand from right to left, the hood will switch to low speed, and the LED display will show the current speed level. If continuously reducing to no speed, the backlights will be off and all the function operation of the hood will not be available. The hood will then enter in standby mode. The above steps can be operated repeatedly.
5. If there is no operation for functional buttons in 10 minutes, the gesture sensor will enter sleeping mode. Re-awake gesture function requires manual operation of any function buttons. The gesture function can be operated only when it has been activated.

Charcoal filters are not included in the delivery for the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood.

The charcoal filters for recirculated air are to be fixed at the side of the motor.

To get to the motor, the front glass panel must be lifted.

Steps for mounting charcoal filters:

1. Lift the front panel (A) as shown in the picture.
2. Remove the metal filter (B).
3. Bring the filters (A) with both hands to the side of the Motor (B) and secure them by firmly turning clockwise.

Note: When the carbon filter is inserted, the suction power will be slightly reduced.

The charcoal filters should be changed every three to six months depending on your cooking habit.

To remove the charcoal filters from the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood, turn them counter clockwise.

The minimum distance from the lower edge of the hood body to the cooking surface for the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood is:

The exhaust air line should be as short and straight as possible.

To avoid excessive noise or a reduced extraction capacity, the diameter of the exhaust air pipeline should not be less than 120 mm.

Use or form only large radius bends. Small radius bends reduce the extraction capacity of the hood.

Use only smooth pipelines or flexible hoses of non-flammable materials for the exhaust air pipeline.

If the exhaust air pipeline is horizontally routed, there must be a minimum gradient of 1 cm per metre or an inclination angle of 2°.

Otherwise condensation water could run into the extractor hood motor.

If the exhaust air is directed into an exhaust air duct, the end of the entry fitting must be directed in the direction of flow.

If the exhaust air pipeline is routed through cool rooms, lofts etc., there can be a large temperature drop within the individual parts of the pipeline, resulting in sweating or condensation water production. This renders outlet pipeline insulation necessary.

In some cases, a condensation water barrier must be installed in addition to adequate insulation (these are available from leading building material suppliers).

If you wish to use the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood as a circulation hood, you must mount the active carbon filter(s) to the fan motor before using the hood. The active carbon filter(s) is/are included in the scope of supply with some models.

Otherwise you must obtain the active carbon filter(s) from the supplier of your extractor hood.

You must also change your hood over to the “Filter position” at the device provided (lever or ball handle) inside of the hood.

Before connecting the RESPEKTA CH 99060 SA cooker hood, check that the voltage stated on the rating plate (V) agrees with the supply voltage in your home.

Never install the appliance if the data on the rating plate does not agree with your supply voltage. You will find the rating plate inside the appliance, behind the grease filter.

If the extractor hood is fitted with a standard connector plug, connect this to an easily accessible standard socket.
