Insert the telescopic pole into the base of the unit until it is securely seated. Ensure the clips are locked. Attach the steam head holder to the top of the pole by sliding it onto the connector until it fits securely.

Remove the water tank from the main body of the steamer. Open the filling cap located on the tank. Fill the tank with water. Close the cap securely and wipe away any excess water before reinserting the tank into the base of the unit.

Do not steam garments while they are being worn by a person. Avoid touching the steam head as it becomes hot during use. Ensure the steam hose is not kinked or bent sharply near the base; keep the hose elevated to allow steam to flow freely.

Unlock the clips located on the telescopic pole sections. Pull the pole upwards to extend it to your desired height. Once extended, close the clips firmly to lock the pole in position.

Align the brush accessory with the face of the steam head and snap it into place. Ensure the brush is securely attached before turning on the appliance or after the appliance has cooled down.

Plug the appliance into a power outlet. Turn the control dial to the steam icon or “On” position. The indicator light will illuminate. For the PHILIPS STE1010, wait approximately 2 minutes for the unit to heat up and be ready for use.

Wear the provided protective glove on the hand you use to hold the garment (the non-steaming hand). This protects your hand from the hot steam while you pull the fabric taut during the steaming process.

Hang the garment on the integrated hanger. Hold the steam head upright and move it vertically up and down against the fabric. Use your gloved hand to hold the bottom of the garment taut. For collars, you can steam horizontally while supporting the collar. For sleeves, pull the sleeve taut and steam along the length of the arm.

Perform the de-calc procedure approximately once a month. Place a container under the de-calc knob located on the base of the unit. Remove the water tank. Open the de-calc knob to allow the water and scale residue to drain into the container. Once drained, close the knob securely.

Turn the control dial to the off position and unplug the appliance. Wait at least 1 hour for the unit to cool down completely. Empty the water tank. Unlock the pole clips to collapse the telescopic pole. Clean the exterior if necessary and store the unit in a safe place.
