The Dashboard on the PHILIPS 85PUS8808 is a side panel in Google TV that provides access to Settings, device controls, notifications, and more. It can be accessed in three ways:

1. Navigating to the profile icon in the upper right of the home screen.

2. Pressing the DASHBOARD key (gear icon) on the remote control.

3. Long pressing the HOME key on the remote control.

For the PHILIPS 85PUS8808, the required wall mount dimensions are 600×400, using M8 screws (minimum length: 25 mm, maximum length: 30 mm).

To use advanced operations like voice search, you need to pair (link) the TV with the remote control. When you start the initial TV installation, the TV invites you to press the Home + Back key to pair the remote control.

If pairing was lost, you can pair it again by pressing the Home + Back key or by long-pressing the PAIR (SOURCES) key (approximate for 3 seconds). Alternatively, go to Settings > Remote & accessories > Remote control settings > Pair remote control, then follow the on-screen instructions.

You can search for videos, music, or anything else on the Internet by using your voice. You need to pair the remote control to the TV before use.

1. Press and hold the Voice key on the remote control. The blue light on the remote control lights up and the search field opens, indicating the microphone is active.

2. Speak out what you are looking for with clear pronunciation. Once the voice input is done, release the Voice key to start the search.

3. In the list of search results, select the item you want.

Make sure your satellite dish is connected correctly and aligned before starting.

1. Select Settings > Channels & Inputs > Channels > Satellite Installation and press OK. Enter your PIN code if necessary.

2. Select Search for Satellite and press OK.

3. Select Search and press OK. The TV will search for satellites.

4. Select Install and press OK. The TV shows the current satellite installation setup.

5. If you want to change the setup, select Settings. If not, select Search.

6. The TV will search for satellites. If found, select Install.

7. If a satellite offers Channel Packages, select the package you need.

8. Select Finish to store the setup.

If you receive digital channels, you can set the TV to automatically update these channels.

1. Select Settings > Channels & Inputs > Channels > Antenna/Cable Installation or Antenna Installation and press OK.

2. Enter your PIN code if necessary.

3. Select Automatic Channel Update and press OK.

4. Select Off and press OK.

5. Press the Left arrow to go back one step or press Back to close the menu.

1. Press the TV button to switch to TV.

2. Press OK to open the current channel list.

3. Press OPTIONS.

4. Select Create Favourites List and press OK.

5. In the list at the left, select a channel you want as a favourite and press OK. Channels appear in the list at the right.

6. If necessary, select and add more channels.

7. To finish adding channels, press Back.

8. The TV will ask to rename the Favourites List. Use the on-screen keyboard.

9. When done, select Close and press OK.

To prevent children from watching a channel, you can lock it. You must enter the 4 digit Child Lock PIN code first.

1. Press the TV button.

2. Press OK to open the channel list.

3. Select the channel you want to lock.

4. Press OPTIONS and select Lock Channel and press OK.

5. Enter your 4 digit PIN code if the TV asks for it.

6. Press the Left arrow to go back or Back to close the menu.

1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > On/Off.

2. In the list of found networks, select on your wireless network. If your network is hidden, select Add New Network to enter the name manually.

3. Depending on the router type, enter your encryption key (WPA2 or WPA3).

4. A message will be shown when the connection is successful.

1. Go to Settings > Display & Sound > Picture > Picture style. Alternatively, select from HOME > Dashboard > Picture > Picture style.

2. Select a style such as Personal, Crystal Clear, Home Cinema, ECO, Movie, Game, or Monitor.

Note: HDR and Dolby Vision signals offer specific picture styles such as HDR Personal, Dolby Vision Bright, etc.

You can redo the picture settings in a few easy steps:

1. Select Settings > Display & Sound > Picture.

2. Select Quick Picture Setting, and press OK.

3. Use the navigation keys to select your preferable source, sharpness, contrast, colour and motion settings.

4. Select Finish or press Left repeatedly if necessary to close the menu.

1. Press Settings > Display & Sound > Screen > Picture format.

2. Select Fill Screen, Fit to Screen, Wide Screen, or Original, and press OK.

3. Press the Left arrow repeatedly if necessary to close the menu.

This calibration allows the TV to determine the acoustics in your room and provide optimized sound quality. You need to pair your remote control with the TV first.

1. Go to Settings > Display & Sound > Sound > Room calibration.

2. Hold your remote control at the listening position and point it towards the TV.

3. Select Calibrate now or Calibrate again to start.

4. A test sound will be played and measured through your remote control.

5. Once successfully calibrated, select Test to listen to the sound before and after calibration. Select Apply to accept the setting.

1. Press the AMBILIGHT key on the remote.

2. Scroll to Follow Video, Follow Audio, or Follow Colour.

3. Select the style you want (e.g., Standard, Natural, Sports, Vivid, Gaming for Video) and press OK.

4. Press Left to go back one step or Back to close the menu.

The lounge light mode allows you to switch on Ambilight when the TV is in standby.

1. Go to Settings > Display & Sound > Ambilight > Lounge light > Enable on standby and switch it on.

2. Switch the TV to standby.

3. Press the AMBILIGHT key on the remote control to activate the lounge light.

4. Use navigation keys to change light effects or brightness.

5. To switch off, press the AMBILIGHT key again.

1. Select Settings > System > About > System update > Internet (recommended) and press OK.

2. The TV will look for an update on the Internet.

3. If an update is available, you can update the software right away.

4. The update can take several minutes. Do not press the power key on the TV or remote.

5. When done, the TV will return to the channel you were watching.

A Factory Reset reinstalls the TV completely. All settings will be reset and installed channels will be replaced.

1. Select Settings > System > About > Reset > Factory reset and press OK.

2. Enter your PIN code if necessary.

3. The installation can take a few minutes.

1. Insert a USB flash drive or hard drive into the USB connection on the TV.

2. Press SOURCES, select USB and press OK.

3. Select USB Devices and press Right to select the device.

4. You can browse your files in the folder structure.

5. Press Play all to play files in the folder or Mark favourite to add to the favourites menu.

6. To stop playback, press EXIT.

1. Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet. Wait for one minute then reconnect it.

2. Make sure that the power cable is securely connected.

When switching the TV on, off, or to standby, you may hear a creaking sound from the chassis. This is due to the normal expansion and contraction of the TV as it cools and warms up. This does not affect performance.

The TV requires some time to start up. If it continues to be unresponsive:

1. Check if the remote is working by using a mobile phone camera to look at the infra-red LED while pressing a key (if the LED flickers, the remote is working and the TV needs checking).

2. If the LED doesn’t flicker, the remote might be broken or batteries are low.

Note: This test works for IR signals; wirelessly paired remotes cannot be tested this way.

1. Change to other video sources and then change back to the current source.

2. Perform a picture style restore in Picture settings.

3. Perform a Factory reset in General settings options.

1. Make sure the antenna is properly connected to the TV.

2. Loud speakers, unearthed audio devices, neon lights, high buildings, and large objects can influence reception quality. Adjust antenna direction or move devices away from the TV.

3. If reception on only one channel is poor, fine-tune the channel with Manual Installation.

1. Microwave ovens, DECT phones, or other Wi-Fi devices nearby might disturb the network.

2. Ensure firewalls in your network allow access to the TV’s wireless connection.

3. If the wireless network does not work properly, try the wired network installation.

4. If the connection to the router is OK but the internet is down, check the router’s internet connection.

1. Never touch, push, rub or strike the screen with any object.

2. Unplug the TV before cleaning.

3. Clean the TV and frame with a soft damp cloth and wipe gently. Avoid touching the Ambilight LEDs on the backside. Never use substances such as alcohol, chemicals, or household cleaners.

4. To avoid deformations and color fading, wipe off water drops as quickly as possible.

5. Avoid stationary images as much as possible to prevent image retention.
