• **Power Switch:** This apparatus has no power switch. Power is supplied from an external 12 V DC/24 V AC power-supply device.

• **Stable Performance:** Use the appliance at a temperature within -10°C to +50°C (14°F to 122°F) and humidity below 90%. Do not expose the product to direct heat.

• **Metallic Parts:** Do not drop metallic parts through slots, as this could permanently damage the apparatus.

• **Metallic Edges:** Do not rub your hands with the metallic edges to avoid injury.

• **Disassembly:** Do not attempt to disassemble the camera. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

• **Handling:** Handle the camera with care. Avoid striking, shaking, etc.

• **Dome Cover:** Do not touch the dome cover with your bare hands, as a dirty cover causes deterioration of picture quality.

• **Strong Light Sources:** Do not aim the camera at strong light sources like a spotlight, as this can cause blooming (light bleeding) or a smear (vertical lines).

• **Indoor Use:** Use this product for indoor use only. Do not expose it to direct sunlight for hours and keep it away from water.

• **Installation Environment:** Do not install the camera in a humid or dust-laden environment, as it may shorten the lifetime of internal parts.

Turn the power off before cleaning the camera. Use a dry cloth to clean the camera body. Do not use strong abrasive detergents. If dirt is hard to remove, use a mild detergent and wipe gently. Afterward, wipe off the remaining detergent with a dry cloth to prevent discoloration. If using a chemical cloth, read the caution provided with that product.

Avoid installing the camera in the following locations:

• Locations where it may get wet from rain or water splash.

• Locations where a chemical agent is used, such as a swimming pool.

• Locations subject to steam and oil smoke, such as a kitchen.

• Locations near flammable gas or vapor.

• Locations where radiation or x-ray emissions are produced.

• Locations subject to a strong magnetic field or radio waves.

• Locations where corrosive gas is produced.

• Locations where it may be damaged by briny air, such as seashores.

• Locations where the temperature is not within -10 °C to +50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F).

• Locations subject to vibrations (This product is not designed for on-vehicle use).

• **Video output connector:** Transmits composite video signals.

• **Marker:** Used when installing the dome cover.

• **Monitor output jack (RCA jack):** Connects to an LCD monitor for checking images.

• **Dip switch:** Selects ON/OFF for light control mode, backlight compensation, Adaptive Black Stretch, and Simple day/night mode.

• **Azimuth adjuster:** Adjusts the azimuth angle of the camera.

• **Tilting table:** Adjusts the tilting position of the camera.

The dip switches control several camera functions:

• **Simple day/night mode selector [D/N]:**

– **ON:** The camera selects black-and-white mode if the picture is dark, or color mode if it is bright enough.

– **OFF (Default):** Color picture is displayed normally.

• **Adaptive Black Stretch selector [B.S.]:**

– **ON (Default):** The dark area of the object is automatically corrected to lighten it. Note: Noise may be increased in the dark area of the object.

– **OFF:** Does not compensate.

• **Backlight compensation selector [BLC]:**

– **ON:** Compensates the background automatically if it is brighter than the object.

– **OFF (Default):** This mode is used when the front of the object is extremely bright.

• **Light control mode selector [ALC/ELC]:**

– **ALC (Default):** Adjusts the lens iris automatically.

– **ELC:** This mode is used for manual focus adjustment.

Before installation:

• Procure 4 mounting screws (M4) according to the material of the installation area. Wood screws and nails should not be used. The recommended tightening torque is 1.6 N·m.

• Ensure the installation surface is strong. The required pull-out capacity of a single screw/bolt is 196 N {20 kgf} or more.

• If a ceiling board such as plaster board is too weak, the area must be sufficiently reinforced.

• The protection sheet attached to the dome cover should be peeled off after installation is complete.

To prepare the camera for mounting, you must first remove the top cover.

1. Adjust the marker of the main unit to “INSERT” on the “DOME COVER” label on the top cover.

2. Turn the top cover counter-clockwise to remove it.

Note: The clear dome cover and the inner dome cover are joined into a single unit. Do not try to separate them.

The maximum extensible cable length for the video output is shown in the table below.

Connect the three-conductor cable from the camera to the power supply. The wire colors and functions are as follows:

Caution: Be sure to connect the GND (grounding) lead of the camera and the grounding terminal of the power supply when using a 24 V AC power source.

For 24 V AC Power:

The voltage supplied to the power terminals should be between 19.5 V AC and 28 V AC. Recommended cable lengths are shown below.

For 12 V DC Power:

The voltage supplied to the power terminals should be between 10.8 V DC and 16 V DC. Use the following formula to calculate the power cable and power supply requirements:

10.8 V DC ≤ VA – 2 (R x I x L) ≤ 16 V DC

First, connect an adjusting monitor to the monitor output jack. During these adjustments, also make zoom and focus adjustments.

Important: Do not touch the iris motor or hold the camera by the lens unit during adjustment.

1. **Pan Adjustment:** Rotate the panning table to adjust the panning position of the camera. The range is 320° (+180° clockwise to -140° counterclockwise). Tighten the panning table lock screw after adjusting.

2. **Tilt Adjustment:** Rotate the tilting table to adjust the tilting position of the camera. The range is ±75°.

3. **Azimuth Adjustment:** Rotate the azimuth adjuster to adjust the azimuth angle of the image. The range is ±100°.

Perform zoom and focus adjustments at the same time as pan and tilt adjustments.

1. **Zoom Adjustment:** Loosen the zoom lock lever and move the lever between TELE and WIDE to obtain the appropriate angle of view. Tighten the zoom lock lever.

2. **Coarse Focus Adjustment:** Move the focus lever between FAR and NEAR to make a coarse adjustment of the focus.

3. **Auto Focus Adjustment:** Press the AF switch on the side of the camera. The LED for AF will light up for approx. 10 seconds, and the focus will be automatically adjusted.

Notes on Auto Focus (ABF function):

• The ABF function does not cover the full focus range. Always perform coarse manual adjustments first.

• Do not touch the lens while the AF LED is lit.

• The AF switch may not adjust the focus initially. If this happens, widen the aperture by pointing the camera at a dark subject.

• If the AF LED blinks, auto focus has failed. This can happen with certain subjects (e.g., quickly moving, low light, high contrast, behind a window). For these subjects, select ELC with the light control mode selector and adjust the focus manually.
