PANASONIC MQ-W3CR-DC12-24VEM (01) PDF SUMMARY:
What should you never do with this product?
Never use this product as a sensing device for personnel protection. In case of using sensing devices for personnel protection, use products which meet laws and standards, such as OSHA, ANSI or IEC etc., for personnel protection applicable in each region or country.
How do you perform distance adjustment for this device?
- Point the detection surface of the photoelectric sensor in the detecting direction and temporarily fasten the unit.
- With the detection object at the desired detecting distance, rotate the distance adjustment control from the maximum position (FAR) counterclockwise to locate the point where the operation indicator (OPE.) goes out. Even if the location of that point is at the FAR position, that will be the set point.
- With the detection object at the desired detecting distance, rotate the distance adjustment control from the minimum position (NEAR) clockwise to locate the point where is extinguished. Even if the location of that point is at the NEAR position, that will be the set point.
- After adjustment, securely tighten the unit so that the position will not shift due to vibration or shock.
What should be done if the detection is not stable?
If the detection is not stable, recheck the position of the detection surface and repeat the procedure of 1 to 4, or try to determine the source of external factors such as variation in ambient temperature, or ambient light. Make sure the detection surface is clean.
What warnings should be observed when using this device?
- On this device the internal circuit and enclosure is connected directly. Use a power source entirely insulated from the primary circuit to prevent operator from an electric shock hazard.
- This product has been developed/produced for industrial use only.
- Do not use this product with a power source other than the rating. Incorrect voltage may cause damage to the unit.
- Use with an ambient light level at the light receiving surface of less than 10,000 lx for incandescent lamp.
- Do not use a power supply that has [a] ±10% or more of power voltage variation, or [b] a commercial power supply [with] full wave voltage. This may cause damage to the internal circuit, a surge absorbing element should be used.
- Avoid using in a location where there is excessive steam, dust, or corrosive gas.
- The sensor is of immersion proof type, but this does not mean that it can be used in water or where there is direct impingement of rain for a long period.
What precautions should be taken before and during the use of this device?
- Because the internal circuit can be damaged due to incorrect connections, before power is applied, the wiring should be thoroughly checked.
- Do not use a load that exceeds the operating voltage of the internal circuit as applied to the load relay.
- Do not use a cable longer than 100 m, because the output signal is weak. This could cause misoperation. Use a relay if the load is more than 100m away from the photoelectric sensor.
- If the wiring to the photoelectric sensor is run parallel to high voltage or power lines, due to inductive noise, misoperation or damage can occur. Use separate conduits.
- Use a cable of 0.3 mm² or greater for extensions, and the length should be less than 100 m.
- Be sure to check the polarity of the power supply before power is supplied to the sensor.
- The front surface of the lens is polycarbonate. This material is resistant to water, dilute acids, and alkalis, aliphatic hydrocarbons, oils, etc., but it is not resistant to ketones, esters, halogenated hydrocarbons, or aromatic hydrocarbons.
What does the CE marking indicate for this product?
The models listed under “SPECIFICATIONS” come with CE Marking.
How do you make connections for Dark ON and Light ON operations?
- For Dark ON, make a connection to the “-” side with the control input wire.
- For Light ON, make a connection to the “+” side with the control input wire.
