What type of batteries should be used and how should they be handled?
- We recommend using the Panasonic rechargeable Ni-MH AAA (R03) size batteries noted in the PDF. USE ONLY rechargeable Ni-MH batteries AAA (R03) size.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not open or mutilate the batteries. Released electrolyte from the batteries is corrosive and may cause burns or injury to the eyes or skin. The electrolyte is toxic and may be harmful if swallowed.
- Exercise care when handling the batteries. Do not allow conductive materials such as rings, bracelets, or keys to touch the batteries, otherwise a short circuit may cause the batteries and/or the conductive material to overheat and cause burns.
- Charge the batteries provided with or identified for use with this product only, in accordance with the instructions and limitations specified in this manual.
- Only use a compatible base unit (or charger) to charge the batteries. Do not tamper with the base unit (or charger).
Where is the best location for the base unit?
- At a convenient, high, and central location with no obstructions between the handset and base unit in an indoor environment.
- Away from electronic appliances such as TVs, radios, personal computers, wireless devices, or other phones.
- Facing away from radio frequency transmitters, such as external antennas of mobile phone cell stations. (Avoid putting the base unit on a bay window or near a window.)
- Coverage and voice quality depends on the local environmental conditions.
- If the reception for a base unit location is not satisfactory, move the base unit to another location for better reception.
What environmental factors should be considered for the phone?
- Keep the product away from electrical noise generating devices, such as fluorescent lamps and motors.
- The product should be kept free from excessive smoke, dust, high temperature, and vibration.
- The product should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
- Do not place heavy objects on top of the product.
- It should not be placed in rooms where the temperature is less than 0 °C or greater than 40 °C. Damp basements should also be avoided.
- Operating the product near electrical appliances may cause interference. Move away from the electrical appliances.
- The maximum calling distance may be shortened when the product is used in the following places: Near obstacles such as hills, tunnels, underground, near metal objects such as wire fences, etc.
How should I clean the product?
- Wipe the outer surface of the product with a soft moist cloth.
- Do not use benzine, thinner, or any abrasive powder.
- Clean the charge contacts of the handset, base unit, and charger with a soft and dry cloth once a month. Before cleaning the unit, disconnect from power outlets and any telephone line cords. Clean more often if the unit is exposed to grease, dust, or high humidity.

- Use only the supplied Panasonic AC adaptor PNLV226E.
- In line with our policy to minimize waste, Panasonic has elected not to include the cord with our telephone products. Many of our customers have retained an existing cord and do not require a new one. However, if you do not have one, please contact our Customer Care Centre, who would be pleased to advise you on what you require.
- The AC adaptor must remain connected at all times. (It is normal for the adaptor to feel warm during use.)
- The AC adaptor should be connected to a vertically oriented or floor-mounted AC outlet. Do not connect the AC adaptor to a horizontally oriented AC outlet that faces the floor, such as an AC outlet installed on a ceiling or under a table, as the weight of the adaptor may cause it to become disconnected.

- “Off” (default): Turns off eco mode. ECO/ECO+ icons are not displayed.
- Press 【R/ECO】 repeatedly to cycle through “Eco”, “Eco Plus”, and “Off”.
Note:
- If a handset not compatible with Eco Plus is registered, “Eco Plus” is not available. If such a handset is registered while “Eco Plus” was active, the setting changes to “Off”.
- When another cordless phone is in use nearby, transmission power may not be reduced (KX-TGU132/133/432/433).
- With “Eco Plus”, there is a delay between receiving calls and the handset ringing.
- When eco mode is active, the base unit range is reduced in standby.

- Ringer Indicator: The LED flashes rapidly for incoming calls or intercom pages. The default setting is “On”.

- Use this key with care. Set the product to the lowest volume setting at which you can hear adequately.
Turning the Amplify key feature on/off during a call: 1. Press 【<0xE2><0x84><0x9C>】 while on a call. The <0xE2><0x84><0x9C> icon appears. 2. Press 【+】 or 【-】 on the side repeatedly to select the desired volume.
Note:
- If mode is “Normal”: Max volume reverts to level 4 next call/playback. Feature turns off next call/playback.
