To set up the connections for the PANASONIC KX-TG484SK base unit, follow these steps:

1. Connect the AC adaptor plug to the base unit by pressing the plug firmly.

2. Fasten the cord by hooking it.

3. Connect the AC adaptor to a power outlet.

4. Connect the telephone line cord to the base unit by pressing the plug firmly until you hear a click.

5. Fasten the cord by hooking it.

6. Connect the telephone line cord to the single-line telephone jack until you hear a click.

7. If you have DSL/ADSL service, a DSL/ADSL filter is required. The filter is not included.

Note: Always use the supplied Panasonic AC adaptor PNLV226. Use only the supplied telephone line cord.

To install and charge the batteries in your PANASONIC KX-TG484SK handset, follow these instructions:

1. Use only the supplied rechargeable Ni-MH batteries (Model: HHR-4DPA).

2. Wipe the battery ends (positive and negative terminals) with a dry cloth.

3. Insert the batteries with the correct polarity (positive and negative terminals matching).

4. Close the handset cover.

5. Place the handset on the base unit or charger and charge for about 7 hours.

6. When the batteries are fully charged, the charge indicator will go off and “Fully charged” will be displayed on the handset.

Important: If you install the batteries incorrectly, the handset will not work. Do not use Alkaline, Manganese, or Ni-Cd batteries.

The battery performance for the PANASONIC KX-TG484SK depends on its usage.

Note: Battery performance may be shortened depending on usage conditions and ambient temperature. The battery power is consumed anytime the handset is off the base unit or charger, even when the handset is not in use. It is recommended to leave the handset on the base unit or charger when not in use.

You can perform the initial setup for your PANASONIC KX-TG484SK using the direct commands or the display menu.

Step 1: Setting the Display Language

1. Press 【MENU】# 1 1 0.

2. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select “English” or “Español”.

3. Press 【SAVE】, then 【OFF】.

Step 2: Setting the Date and Time

1. Press 【MENU】# 1 0 1.

2. Enter the current month, date, and year by selecting 2 digits for each (e.g., 07 for July, 15 for the 15th, and 23 for 2023).

3. Enter the current hour and minute (in 12-hour clock format) by selecting 2 digits for each (e.g., 09:30).

4. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select “AM” or “PM”.

5. Press 【SAVE】, then 【OFF】.

Step 3: Recording Your Greeting Message

1. Press 【MENU】# 3 0 2.

2. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select “Yes”, then press 【SELECT】.

3. After the beep, speak clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away from the microphone. Your greeting should be a maximum of 2 minutes.

4. Press 【STOP】 to stop recording.

5. Press 【OFF】.

To make a call:

1. Dial the phone number.

2. Press 【📞】 (TALK) or 【SPEAKERPHONE】 to start the call.

3. To hang up, press 【OFF】 or place the handset on the base unit or charger.

To answer a call:

1. When the phone rings, press 【📞】 (TALK) or 【SPEAKERPHONE】.

2. You can also answer by pressing any dial key from 0 to 9, *, or # if the “Any Key Answer” feature is on.

3. If you have “Auto Talk” turned on, you can simply lift the handset from the base unit or charger to answer.

4. To hang up, press 【OFF】 or place the handset back on the base unit or charger.

You can adjust different volume settings on your PANASONIC KX-TG484SK.

Receiver/Speaker Volume:

While on a call, press 【▲】 or 【▼】 repeatedly to adjust the receiver or speakerphone volume. There are 6 levels.

Ringer Volume (Handset):

1. Press 【MENU】# 1 6 0.

2. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select the desired volume level (6 levels plus off).

3. Press 【SAVE】, then 【OFF】.

Ringer Volume (Base unit):

Press【▲】or【▼】on the base unit to adjust the volume. To turn it off, press【▼】repeatedly.

To add an entry to the phonebook:

1. Press 【MENU】 then the right navigator key.

2. Press 【MENU】 again.

3. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select “Add new entry”, then press 【SELECT】.

4. Enter the name (up to 16 characters). Press 【OK】.

5. Enter the phone number (up to 24 digits). Press 【OK】.

6. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select the desired group. Press 【SELECT】 twice.

7. Press 【OFF】.

To find and call from the phonebook:

1. Press the right navigator key.

2. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to scroll through the entries. You can also press a dial key (0-9) to jump to the first entry starting with that character.

3. When the desired entry is displayed, press 【📞】 (TALK) to make the call.

To edit an entry:

1. Find the desired entry in the phonebook.

2. Press 【MENU】.

3. Select “Edit” and press 【SELECT】.

4. Edit the name and press 【OK】.

5. Edit the phone number and press 【OK】.

6. Select the group and press 【SELECT】 twice.

7. Press 【OFF】.

To erase an entry:

1. Find the desired entry in the phonebook.

2. Press 【MENU】.

3. Select “Erase” and press 【SELECT】.

4. Select “Yes” and press 【SELECT】.

5. Press 【OFF】.

The main menu on the PANASONIC KX-TG484SK handset allows you to access various features and settings. To access the main menu, press 【MENU】.

The Call Block feature allows your PANASONIC KX-TG484SK to reject calls from specified unwanted numbers. Blocked callers will hear a busy signal.

To store an unwanted number:

You can store up to 250 numbers in the call block list.

From the caller list:

1. Press 【▼CID】 to view the caller list.

2. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select the entry you want to block.

3. Press 【MENU】.

4. Select “Save CID” and press 【SELECT】.

5. Select “Call block” and press 【SELECT】.

6. Select “Yes” and press 【SELECT】. You will hear a confirmation tone.

7. Press 【OFF】.

Manually:

1. Press 【CALL BLOCK】.

2. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select “Block a number”. Press 【SELECT】.

3. Press 【MENU】 then select “Add”. Press 【SELECT】.

4. Enter the phone number you wish to block (up to 24 digits).

5. Press 【SAVE】, then 【OFF】.

To view, edit, or erase a blocked number:

1. Press 【CALL BLOCK】.

2. Select “Blocked numbers” and press 【SELECT】.

3. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to find the desired entry.

4. To edit, press 【EDIT】. Edit the number and press 【SAVE】.

5. To erase, press 【ERASE】. Select “Yes” and press 【SELECT】. Press 【OFF】.

To turn the answering system on or off:

Press the 【ANSWER ON/OFF】 button on the base unit to toggle the system on or off. When on, the indicator lights up.

To listen to messages using the base unit:

Press 【▶】 (PLAY). If you have new messages, the base will play new messages first. If there are no new messages, it will play all saved messages.

To listen to messages using the handset:

1. Press 【MENU】# 3 2 3 to listen to new messages.

2. Press 【MENU】# 3 2 4 to listen to all messages.

Answering system operation keys:

To erase all messages:

While the unit is idle, press and hold 【ERASE】 on the base unit for 2 seconds.

You can call your PANASONIC KX-TG484SK from a touch-tone phone to listen to messages and operate the answering system remotely.

1. Dial your telephone number from an outside line.

2. After the greeting starts, enter your remote access code (the default is “111”).

3. The unit will announce the number of new messages and begin playback.

4. You can control the system using the following commands:

To change the remote access code:

1. From the handset, press 【MENU】# 3 0 6.

2. Enter a 3-digit number.

3. Press 【SAVE】, then 【OFF】.

Intercom calls can be made between handsets registered to the same PANASONIC KX-TG484SK base unit.

1. Press 【INTERCOM】 on your handset.

2. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select the handset you want to call. You can also select “All handsets” to page all registered handsets.

3. Press 【SELECT】 to page the other handset(s).

4. To stop paging, press 【OFF】.

To answer an intercom call, press 【📞】 (TALK), 【SPEAKERPHONE】, or 【INTERCOM】 on the receiving handset.

To transfer an outside call to another handset:

1. During an outside call, press 【INTERCOM】.

2. Select the desired handset and press 【SELECT】 to page it.

3. Wait for the paged party to answer. If they do not answer, press 【INTERCOM】 to return to the outside call.

4. To complete the transfer, press 【OFF】. The outside call is transferred to the other handset.

To answer a transferred call:

Press 【📞】 (TALK) to answer the page from the other handset and speak to the person who paged you. Then press 【📞】 (TALK) again to speak to the outside caller.

To make a three-way conference call:

1. During an outside call, press 【INTERCOM】 to page another handset.

2. When the paged party answers, press 【CONF】.

3. This will establish a conference call between the outside caller and both handsets.

4. To leave the conference, press 【OFF】. The other two parties can continue the conversation.

If you are having trouble making or answering calls with your PANASONIC KX-TG484SK, please check the following:

– Ensure the base unit’s AC adaptor and telephone line cord are properly connected.

– Check that the batteries in the handset are installed correctly and are fully charged.

– If you are subscribed to a DSL/ADSL service, make sure a DSL/ADSL filter is connected between the base unit and the telephone line jack.

3. On the handset, press 【OK】 immediately and wait until a long beep sounds.

To deregister a handset:

1. On the handset, press 【MENU】# 1 3 1.

2. Use 【▲】 or 【▼】 to select the handset you want to deregister.

3. Press 【SELECT】.

4. Select “Yes” and press 【SELECT】.

5. A long beep will sound, and the handset is deregistered.

6. Press 【OFF】.
