For the remote control of your PANASONIC CU-E7JKE, please observe the following safety precautions:

Cautions (to prevent injury or property damage):

• Do not install the unit in a potentially explosive atmosphere.

• Do not wash the unit with water, benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Do not use for other purposes such as the preservation of food.

• Do not use any combustible equipment in front of the airflow outlet.

• Do not expose yourself directly to cold air for a long period.

• Ensure that the drainage pipe is connected properly. Otherwise, leakage may occur.

• Aerate the room regularly.

• Do not share the same power outlet with other equipment.

• Do not modify power cords.

• Do not use extension cords.

• Do not operate with wet hands.

• Use the specified supply cord.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• This equipment must be earthed and it is strongly recommended to be installed with an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) or Residual Current Device (RCD). Otherwise, it may cause electrical shock or fire in case of malfunction.

• In case of emergency or abnormal conditions (burnt smell, etc), turn off the power supply, and please consult an authorized dealer.

Cautions (to prevent injury or property damage):

• Switch off the power supply before cleaning or servicing.

• Turn off the power supply if the unit is not used for a long period of time.

• This air conditioner is equipped with a built-in surge protective device. However, to further protect your air conditioner from being damaged by abnormally strong lightning activity, you may want to disconnect it from the power supply. Do not touch the air conditioner during lightning, as it may cause electric shock.

Warnings:

Use the PANASONIC CU-E7JKE air conditioner under the following temperature range for a Single Split Outdoor Unit:

* DBT: Dry bulb temperature

* WBT: Wet bulb temperature

NOTICE: This model is not suitable for 24 hours non-stopping operation in heating mode below -5°C. When the outdoor temperature is below -5°C and you use this model out of the above conditions, the outdoor unit might freeze up and stop operation for protection control.

• Do not switch ON the unit when waxing the floor. After waxing, aerate the room properly before operating the unit.

• Do not install the unit in oily and smoky areas.

Multi air conditioner systems save space by letting you connect multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit.

• It is possible to operate the indoor units individually or simultaneously. The operation mode priority is given to the first unit that is turned on.

• During operation, heating and cooling mode cannot be activated at the same time for different indoor units. The power indicator blinks to indicate the indoor unit is standing by for a different operation mode.

Yes. PATROL and e-ion operations could be activated even when the air-conditioner is turned off. In this condition, once the e-ion indicator is ON, the unit will operate with AUTO fan speed and air swing. However, this operation could not be activated or will be deactivated if another indoor unit is activating heating mode.

The Auto OFF/ON button is used when the remote control is misplaced or malfunctions. Here’s how to use it:

• Press once: The unit will start in Auto mode.
• Press and hold until 1 beep is heard, then release: The unit will start in Cooling mode.
• Press and hold until 1 beep is heard, then release. Press again until 2 beeps, then release: The unit will start in Heating mode.
• Press the button to turn off.

• PATROL SENSOR: Blue
• POWER: Green
• TIMER: Orange
• QUIET: Orange
• POWERFUL: Orange
• e-ion: Blue
• MILD DRY COOLING: Blue

• Horizontal airflow direction louver: This is manually adjustable.

• Vertical airflow direction louver: Do not adjust this by hand. Use the remote control.

To Set Temperature:

• The selection range is 16°C ~ 30°C.

• Operating the unit within the recommended temperature can save energy:

– HEAT mode: 20°C ~ 24°C.

– COOL mode: 26°C ~ 28°C.

– DRY mode: 1°C ~ 2°C lower than room temperature.

To Select Operation Mode:

• AUTO mode: The unit selects the operation mode every 30 minutes (for Single Split) or 3 hours (for Multi Split) based on temperature settings. The power indicator blinks during selection.

• HEAT mode: The unit takes a while to warm up. The power indicator blinks during this operation.

• COOL mode: To enjoy cool air.

• DRY mode: The unit operates at a low fan speed to gently dehumidify the environment.

To Select Fan Speed (5 Options):

• Press the FAN SPEED button to cycle through the options. For AUTO, the indoor fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the operation mode.

To Adjust Vertical Airflow Direction (5 Options):

• Press the AIR SWING button to adjust the vertical airflow.

• This keeps the room ventilated.

• If AUTO is set, the louvers swing up/down automatically.

• In heat mode, the air blows horizontally for a while, then starts to blow downwards.

• e-ion (TO ENJOY CLEAN & FRESH AIR): Generates negative ions to produce a fresh air effect and attract dust, which is then captured by the positively charged e-ion filters.

• PATROL (TO MONITOR AIR QUALITY): The patrol sensor detects air quality. When air quality is unsatisfactory, the e-ion operation starts automatically.

• MILD DRY COOLING (TO IMPROVE HUMIDITY AND MOISTURE LEVEL – For single Split System): This operation reduces air dryness and provides a comfortable living environment. When vertical airflow is set to AUTO, it stops at a lower position to avoid direct cold air contact.

• QUIET (TO ENJOY QUIET ENVIRONMENT): This operation reduces airflow noise.

• POWERFUL (TO ACHIEVE TEMPERATURE QUICKLY): This function helps to quickly reach the desired temperature.

Yes, there are some limitations:

• PATROL, e-ion, QUIET, and POWERFUL can be activated in all modes and can be cancelled by pressing the respective button again.

• MILD DRY COOLING can only be activated in COOL mode and can be cancelled by pressing the button again.

• PATROL, e-ion, and MILD DRY COOLING or QUIET and POWERFUL cannot be selected at the same time.

• PATROL and e-ion can be activated even when the unit is turned off. In this condition, fan speed and air swing cannot be adjusted.

To set the timer to turn the unit ON or OFF at a preset time:

1. Press the ON or OFF button in the TIMER section to select the ON or OFF timer.

2. Set the desired time.

3. Press SET to confirm.

• To cancel the ON or OFF timer, press the corresponding ON or OFF button, then press CANCEL.

• When the ON Timer is set, the unit may start earlier (up to 35 minutes) before the actual set time to achieve the desired temperature on time.

• Timer operation is based on the clock set in the remote control and repeats daily once set.

• If the timer is cancelled manually or due to power failure, you can restore the previous setting (once power is resumed) by pressing SET.

You can adjust several optional settings on your PANASONIC CU-E7JKE:

• Patrol Automatic Start: Press and hold the PATROL button for 5 seconds to disable or restore the setting where Patrol starts automatically when the unit is switched on.

• Indicator Brightness: Press and hold the AIR SWING button (up/down arrow icon) for 5 seconds to dim or restore the unit’s indicator brightness.

• Temperature Unit (°C or °F): Press and hold the TEMP down arrow button for approximately 10 seconds to switch the temperature setting display between °C and °F.

• Time Format (12/24-hour): Press and hold the CLOCK button for approximately 5 seconds to switch between 12-hour (am/pm) and 24-hour time indication.

• Remote Control Reset: Press the RC RESET button to restore the remote control’s default settings.

• AC RESET: Not used in normal operations.

To reduce power consumption during cool mode, use curtains to screen off sunlight and outdoor heat.

Always switch off the power supply before cleaning. Do not touch the aluminium fin, as sharp parts may cause injury.

Washing Instructions:

• Do not use benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Use only soap (approx. pH7) or neutral household detergent.

• Do not use water hotter than 40°C.

Front Panel:

1. Raise and pull to remove the front panel.

2. Wash it gently and dry.

3. To close, press down on both ends of the front panel to close it securely.

e-ion Filters:

1. Clean the filters regularly.

2. Wash/rinse the filters gently with water to avoid damage.

3. Dry the filters thoroughly in the shade, away from fire or direct sunlight.

4. Replace any damaged filter.

Indoor Unit:

• Wipe the unit gently with a soft, dry cloth.

Active e-ion Generator:

• Clean with a dry cotton bud. Cleaning is recommended every 6 months.

For seasonal inspection after extended non-use:

• Check the remote control batteries.

• Ensure there is no obstruction at the air inlet and air outlet vents.

• Use the Auto OFF/ON button to select Cooling/Heating operation. After 15 minutes of operation, it is normal to have the following temperature difference between air inlet and air outlet vents:

– Cooling: ≥ 8°C

– Heating: ≥ 14°C

For extended non-use:

• Activate Heat mode for 2-3 hours to remove moisture left in the internal parts thoroughly.

• Turn off the power supply.

• Remove the remote control batteries.

Turn off the power supply and consult an authorized dealer under the following non-serviceable criteria:

• Abnormal noise during operation.

• Water/foreign particles have entered the remote control.

• Water leaks from the Indoor unit.

• The circuit breaker switches off frequently.

• The power cord becomes unnaturally warm.

• Switches or buttons are not functioning properly.

If the unit stops and the timer indicator blinks, you can use the remote control to retrieve the error code.

1. In the TIMER section on the remote, press and hold the CHECK button for 5 seconds.

2. Press the up/down arrow buttons until you hear a beep sound, then jot down the error code displayed.

3. Press the CHECK button again for 5 seconds to quit checking.

4. Turn the unit off and provide the error code to an authorized dealer.

Note: For certain errors, you may restart the unit with limited operation, and it will beep 4 times when operation starts.

1. Pull out the battery cover.

2. Insert AAA or R03 batteries (can be used for ~1 year).

3. Close the cover.

4. Press the CLOCK button.

5. Set the time using the arrow buttons.

6. Press SET to confirm.

1. MODE button:

• Select the desired mode (AUTO → HEAT → DRY → COOL).

2. OFF/ON button:

• Starts or stops the operation.

3. TEMP button:

• Selects the desired temperature.
