Charge the battery completely before first use.

While the Google Play Store downloads new updates in the background, tablet performance can be affected. Allow the tablet to download these updates completely before use.

Close unused applications. Open apps continue to run in the background and affect performance and battery time.

Battery Usage: Play times will vary depending on your display settings, apps that remain open, and internet usage (streaming over the web and playing HD or graphically intense games will reduce battery time).

NOTE: The tablet will begin to automatically download updates to multiple Google apps once you connect to WiFi. Resources from the tablet are directed to download all of these updates. It is recommended to allow the tablet to download these updates completely before use as performance may be hindered during this time.

1. Avoid using in extremely hot, cold, dusty, damp or wet environments.

2. The tablet is not moisture/water-resistant. Avoid using the tablet around sources of water.

3. Avoid dropping or forcibly placing the tablet onto a hard surface. This may damage the screen or internal electronic components.

4. Do not use alcohol, thinner or benzene to clean the surface of the tablet. Use only cleaning products designed for computer tablet devices.

5. Do not use the tablet while walking or driving.

6. Excessive use of earphones at high volume may lead to hearing impairment. Limit earphone usage, and adjust the volume to a moderate level when doing so.

7. The images in this manual may vary slightly from the actual product.

8. Charge the tablet battery under any of the following circumstances:

a) Battery level icon indicates low power, by showing a drained, red battery icon.

b) Tablet powers-off automatically, continuing to do so even after restarting.

c) On-screen keys do not function.

9. Do not suddenly disconnect the tablet when formatting, uploading or downloading data. This can lead to program errors (e.g., system or screen “freezing”).

10. Static discharge in the cable, while it is connected to a computer, may corrupt files or damage the memory.

11. Dismantling the tablet will void the manufacturer’s warranty. If you are experiencing problems, review the Troubleshooting section of this manual.

12. Tablet functions, hardware, software, and warranty information may be revised by the manufacturer or their respective owners, and subject to change without notice.

1. Microphone: Use for voice narration, meetings, or note taking.

2. Micro TF Card Slot: Built-in memory card reader slot that supports up to an additional 64GB of storage.

3. Volume + – Key: Increase or decrease the volume level.

4. Power On/Off: Turns the tablet on or off.

5. Rear Camera: Built in rear camera allows you to take HD videos or pictures.

6. Micro USB Port: Transfer media files to or from your computer to the Tablet. Micro USB 2.0 will charge the internal battery from your PC (slow charge only).

7. Headphone Jack: Use headphones for private listening or to connect with amplified speakers.

8. Speaker: Built in audio speakers to listen without headphones.

9. Front Camera: Built in front camera allows you to take “selfies” or to add video to calls with family and friends.

Touch Screen: Experience brilliant detail and wide angle viewing from the widescreen 8.0” IPS panel with 1280 x 800 resolution.

Connect the power adapter from the wall plug to the Tablet as shown in the PDF. It is recommended to fully charge the battery before first use. NOTE: It takes approximately five hours to recharge the battery completely via AC power. It is normal for the Tablet to feel warm during the recharging process and actual usage.

Operating Temperature: Your Tablet is designed to function between 32°F and 95°F (or 0°C to 35°C). Lithium-polymer batteries are sensitive to higher temperatures, so keep your Tablet out of direct sun light and don’t leave it in a closed environment susceptible to extreme temperatures (ie: such as a vehicle).

Recharge Battery: Recharge the battery whenever it is convenient; it is recommended to run the battery down to 10% at least once a month and recharge it.

To View battery usage: Go to Settings > Battery to determine where battery resources are being used and for what purpose.

Press and hold the POWER button on the side for about 3 seconds until the logo screen appears, then release. The tablet will eventually display the locked Start-Up screen. Slide the “Lock” icon to the right to unlock.

Press and hold the POWER button until the POWER OFF window appears, then tap to turn off. You also have the option to reboot the tablet, turn sound off/on, and activate Airplane mode from this window.

Briefly press the POWER button to enter STANDBY mode which will turn off the display and leave the tablet in a low-power mode. NOTE: Battery drain will occur in this mode.

The lock screen is the starting point when you power on your tablet. To unlock, tap the lock icon then drag your finger to unlock.

The Home screen is where you will find your most frequently used applications. There are 5 separate screens total (main screen, plus two to the right and two to the left) to add additional apps.

Press the App Tray icon (:::) to launch all Apps found on the Tablet. Swipe your finger left or right to view additional Apps.

To move an App from the App Tray to a Home screen, touch and hold the app, then drag it to the desired screen.

To remove an App from the Home screen, touch and hold the app, then drag it towards the “Remove” icon at the top of the screen and release.

To create app folders, tap and drag an app onto another app until a black box appears and release.

The Tablet is set for “Auto-Rotation” by default. When enabled, the screen automatically rotates based on how you are holding the tablet. To lock the display in a Landscape or Portrait screen orientation, deselect the “Auto-rotate screen” option by going to Settings > Accessibility.

Notifications provide alerts for new messages, app updates, downloads, screenshots, etc. The Notification Bar is the black bar at the top of the screen. To view notifications and quick Settings options, swipe your finger down from the top left edge of the screen. When done, simply swipe back up to close.

Volume Down: Tap the corresponding icon to decrease volume.

Back: Tap the back arrow icon to go back to the previous screen.

Home: Tap the home icon to open the home screen.

Open Apps: Tap the overlapping squares icon to open a list of thumbnail images you have open. Tap an app to view it. Swipe left or right to close an app. NOTE: Closing open apps will avoid excessive battery drain.

Take a Screen Shot: Tap the screenshot icon (camera symbol within squares) to capture the current screen. Save it in your Gallery or share it. To share or edit, swipe down from the top left of the screen to select the screenshot notification.

Volume Up: Tap the corresponding icon to increase volume.

To type information, tap in a text field. An on-screen keyboard will appear, allowing you to type directly on the display.

Touch and Hold to Delete: Touch and hold your finger on an on-screen App until a light glow appears around it. This is often used for deleting an item from the tablet.

Drag: To move an object, or activate functionality, Touch and Hold an App until it glows, then “drag” it to another location on the screen without lifting your finger.

Slide/Swipe: A motion often used to move through menus, pictures and multiple selections. Tap or flick your finger into the direction you want to move towards.

Pinch to Zoom: In certain apps (Maps, Gallery, etc.) you can zoom in and out of an image. Place two fingers on the touch screen at once. Spread them apart to zoom in or pinch together to zoom out.

To connect to the internet, use email, or download music and videos, you must connect via a broadband Wi-Fi network (802.11b/g/n) and wireless router. You need the network name (SSID) and password.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > WiFi.

2. Turn on the WiFi setting from OFF to ON by sliding the switch to the right.

3. The tablet will scan for available WiFi networks. Secured networks have a Lock icon.

4. Tap on the name of your network.

5. Enter the password (if required) and tap Connect.

Once connected, the tablet will remember your settings.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The tablet will download updates automatically when you connect to WiFi. This uses tablet resources and may cause lag. It is recommended to allow updates to complete before extensive use.

NOTE: When WiFi is not in use, turn it off to conserve battery power.

Go to Settings > System > Date & time. The tablet can automatically set the date & time when connected to the internet using network-provided time. Alternatively, you can manually set the date, time, time zone, 12 or 24-hour format, and date format.

Touch and hold for a few seconds anywhere on the Home screen that is not occupied. A list of options will appear: Gallery, Live Wallpapers, and Wallpapers.

Gallery: Choose from photos you have synced with your tablet.

Live Wallpapers: Choose from a scrolling list of animated wallpapers.

Wallpapers: Choose from thumbnails of default images, or touch a thumbnail for a larger version. You may also download wallpapers from the Google Play Store.

To set the selected image, choose the source (e.g., Gallery), drag the blue dots to determine the crop area and tap OK, or for Wallpaper, tap Set Wallpaper.

Tap the Play Store App icon. It is recommended to set up a Google Gmail account. Type in your email account and password. To create a new account, tap New and follow the on-screen instructions. Afterwards, you can download and install Apps, music, movies, e-Books, games, and widgets. NOTE: Some Apps require a fee while others can be downloaded for free.

CloudLink™: Tap the CloudLink icon. ProPack provides productivity apps and 10GB of free cloud storage from File Locker, plus premium apps like PrintHand, OfficeSuite, StartMeeting.

Maxthon™: Tap the Maxthon icon. This cloud browser connects your devices, allows sharing web content, and managing downloads.

Wild Tangent™: Tap the Wild Tangent icon (W). Play thousands of casual, enthusiast, and family games.

Google Drive: Tap the Google Drive icon. Manage storage of digital media and documents, share files/images. Receive 15GB of free storage when you sign up and create an account.

File Locker: Accessed through the CloudLink suite. Manage storage of digital media and documents, share files/images. Receive 10GB of free storage when you sign up and create an account.

NOTE: Additional storage is available for a small monthly fee from these providers.

Calculator: Tap the Calculator icon for a simple calculator.

Calendar: Tap the Calendar icon (31). Customize scheduling and reminders. If configured with a Google account, it displays existing events.

Clock: Tap the Clock icon. Set the time manually or let it update automatically via Wi-Fi (if the time zone is correct). Set alarms by touching the Alarm icon, selecting the time, and tapping OK.

File Manager: Tap the File Manager icon. Manage and access data files (music, video, PDFs) from internal storage, memory cards, or external storage.

Maps: Tap the Maps icon. Get directions based on your current location or view traffic. NOTE: Requires a WiFi network connection.

Google Now: Access Google Now (usually via the Google search bar or app). It provides information like weather, traffic routes, scores, etc., organized into cards. NOTE: Requires a WiFi network connection.

Music: Use the Google Play Music app (headphone icon) to listen to songs and albums. Transfer music from your Mac or Windows computer using a mini USB cable.

Video: Use the 4KPlayer app or the Gallery app (picture icon) to view, organize, and play back videos. Customize playback preferences within the app.

Use the Sound and Voice Recorder apps to manage and store recordings. Record sound/voice narration, meetings, notes, and concerts directly into MP3 files using the internal microphone. Tap the record icon to start.

Tap the Camera icon to access Camera mode.

The tablet has two cameras (Front and Rear) for HD photos and videos.

The front camera is for “selfies” and video chatting (requires installing a video chat app from the Play Store).

To switch between front and rear cameras, tap the camera switch icon.

Slide the switch to change mode from camera (photo) to video.

Various camera settings are available for customization.

Within the Camera app, access settings to adjust:

Exposure

White balance (Auto, Incandescent, Daylight, Fluorescent, Cloudy)

Fix time (timestamp)

Picture size

Picture quality

Save Position (Geotagging)

FaceDetection

Grid

Sound (shutter sound)

Restore defaults

Color adjustments/filters (e.g., AutoFix, Cross Process, Posterize)

Snap modes (e.g., Normal, Panorama Snap)

Tap the Gallery icon to display and manage photos and image files. Use the Gallery app to view pictures and play back videos that you’ve taken, downloaded, or transferred. You can perform basic photo editing tasks, set images as your wallpaper, or share photos and videos with friends.

Your Tablet is compatible with Bluetooth capable devices. To add or “pair” a device:

1. Turn on the compatible Bluetooth device and make it discoverable.

2. Open Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.

3. The tablet will search for devices. Tap on the device name you want to pair with.

4. Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the pairing.

Tap on Bluetooth in Settings to view already paired devices.

The tablet supports TF memory cards (up to 64GB).

To install: Turn off the Tablet. Insert the memory card face up into the slot until it clicks and locks into place.

To remove: First, un-mount the card by going to Settings > Storage > Un-mount Memory Card. Make certain no programs are using the card. Then, gently push the memory card inward with your fingernail until it pops out.

NOTE: Memory cards can only be inserted one way. Do not force it. Always un-mount the card before ejecting. Do not un-mount or remove the card while a program is using it.

Connect a keyboard, mouse, and other external devices to your tablet via the Micro USB port (using an appropriate adapter if necessary) or Bluetooth. They can be used in the same way as you would on a PC.

Gmail: Set up a Gmail account to access Google features (Play Store, Drive, YouTube, etc.). Tap the Gmail icon (M). Tap EXISTING then enter your account and password. If you don’t have one, tap NEW and follow instructions.

Adding Other Email Accounts: To set up an email account other than Gmail, tap the Email icon. Log in using your credentials. Alternatively, go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account, select the account type (e.g., Email, IMAP, POP3), and follow the prompts.

Use the included micro USB cable to connect your tablet to a PC. A message like “USB Connected” or “Connected as an installer” may appear briefly. On the tablet, a notification regarding USB connection will appear. You might need to tap the notification and select “Turn on USB storage” or choose a file transfer mode (like MTP or PTP) to allow file access. Once connected and enabled, you can view the tablet’s storage on your computer and transfer files (music, movies, photos, documents) to and from the tablet like any other USB drive.

Wi-Fi ON/OFF: Displays available Wi-Fi signals and allows connection. Turn OFF to conserve battery power when not browsing.

Bluetooth: Manage Bluetooth connections.

Data usage: View the amount of data transferred to/from the tablet.

More…: May contain additional network settings like Airplane mode, VPN, etc.

Sound: Adjust tablet volume controls for sound and notifications.

Display: Adjust Brightness, Auto-rotation, Sleep duration, and Font size. Customize wallpaper backgrounds. Set sleep duration (15 seconds to 30 minutes, or never) to conserve power. Screen lock behavior is related to the Security setting.

Storage: Displays the total amount of memory available for data (apps, photos, etc.). Manage internal storage and external storage (like TF card).

Battery: Displays battery usage over time, battery status, and battery level percentage.

Apps: Displays a list of downloaded, running, or all apps. Shows storage used by apps. Manage apps (uninstall, clear data, force stop).

Users: Manage user accounts if applicable.

Location Access: Allow Google to determine your location using Wi-Fi for location-based services and searches.

Security: Set up screen locks (e.g., PIN, password, pattern) for unlocking the tablet, manage encryption, and other security functions. Screen lock activates when the Power button is pressed or the screen times out.

Language & input: Select preferences for spell checker, voice typing, text-to-speech, and keyboard type/language.

Backup & reset: Manage backup options and factory data reset.

Google: Manage Google account information and privacy settings.

Add Accounts: View linked email accounts and add new accounts (email, Google, etc.). Manage synchronization features like calendar and contacts.

Date & time: Adjust date, time, time zone, 12/24 hour format, and date format display.

Accessibility: Enable features for enhanced usability, including TalkBack (screen reader), enlarged text, automatic screen rotation toggle, speak passwords option, touch and hold delay adjustment, and installation of assistive web scripts.

Printing: Manage printing services.

Developer options: Advanced settings for developers (usually hidden by default).

About Tablet: Displays detailed information about the tablet, including system updates, status, legal information, and Android software version number.
