When using your NOMA SURFACEELITE + (PLUS) 043-9429-6, basic precautions should always be observed. Failure to follow warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and serious injury.

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY:

Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. The brushroll continues to rotate when in the upright position.

The brushroll continues to turn while the product is turned on and the handle is in the upright position. To avoid damage to carpet, rugs, furniture and flooring, avoid tipping the cleaner or setting it on furniture, fringed area rugs, or carpeted stairs during tool use.

With the brushroll on, do not allow the cleaner to sit in one location for an extended period of time, as damage to the floor can result.

Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.

Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.

Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user’s guide.

Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.

Do not use with a damaged cord or plug.

Do not use without the dust cup or filters in place.

If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it replaced at an authorized service centre.

Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the appliance over the cord. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

Do not handle the charging base, including the plug and charging base, with wet hands.

Do not charge the unit outdoors.

Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge (Type SAW30A-300-0800U).

Do not incinerate the appliance, even if it is severely damaged. The batteries can explode in a fire.

Do not put any object into an opening.

Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.

Use extra care when cleaning stairs.

Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.

Do not pick up flammable materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in the presence of explosive liquids or vapours.

Do not pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).

Do not use the vacuum cleaner in an enclosed space filled with vapours given off by oil-based paint, paint thinner, some mothproofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapours.

Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.

Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

Keep the appliance on a level surface.

Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting the motorized nozzle.

Disconnect the battery pack before cleaning or servicing.

Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to the battery pack, picking up or carrying the appliance.

Disconnect the battery pack from the appliance before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing the appliance. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.

Use appliances only with specifically designated battery packs (FBP073). Use of any other battery pack may create a risk of injury and fire.

When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes accidentally, seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.

Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 100°C (212°F) may cause explosion.

Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.

Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or battery pack except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.

Do not put the vacuum close to fire or other high-temperature facilities.

Do not use or store the machine under extreme conditions, for example, extreme temperature. It is recommended to use it indoors between 0°C and 40°C. Store the machine in a dry place and avoid direct sunlight.

When storing the machine for a long time, ensure that the battery is fully charged before storage and charge the machine at least every three months.

Your NOMA SURFACEELITE + (PLUS) 043-9429-6 comes in three easy-to-assemble components: the Motorized Brushroll, Tube, and Main Body. No additional tools are required.

Step 1. Insert the tube into the motorized brushroll. When you hear the tube “click” it has securely locked into place.

Step 2. Then, insert the top of the tube into the main body of the vacuum until the “click” sound is heard again.

There are two ways to charge your vacuum:

1. The unit can be charged by plugging the adaptor directly into the lower side of the vacuum handle.

2. Alternatively, mount the provided storage rack, and insert the adapter into the base of the rack to charge when the unit is stored.

A blue indicator light will flash while the unit is charging. The light will become steady when fully charged. The unit will take approximately 3 to 3.5 hours to fully charge. When fully charged, swap the batteries and charge the second battery to double your vacuuming run time.

When the unit’s battery is below 30%, the LED light on the base of the unit will flash to indicate it needs to be recharged. Run time may vary slightly from environment to environment and with the use of various tools.

BATTERY LIFE BY USE (Single Battery)

Press and release the trigger on the base of the unit to start and stop the vacuum.

Select the “Auto” button on the front of the unit to enable FloorDetect™ for specialized cleaning on multiple surface types or adjust power manually using the + and – buttons.

For optimum performance, use at temperatures above zero degrees Celsius.

The control panel on your vacuum has several indicators to provide information about its status:

Dust sensor indicator: Shows the level of dust being detected.

Auto mode indicator: Lights up when the vacuum is in Auto mode.

Motor blockage indicator: Alerts you if there is a blockage in the motor.

Power change indicator: Shows the current power level.

Rotating brush blockage indicator: Alerts you if the rotating brush is blocked.

Auto mode switch: Button to activate or deactivate Auto mode.

Manual switch: Buttons (+ and -) to manually adjust the power level.

Step 1. To convert your stick vacuum into a handheld vacuum, first remove the tube from the base of the body.

Step 2. Insert your selected accessory firmly into the base of the body. Pull the trigger on the base of the unit to start and stop the vacuum. The trigger does not need to be held while in use.

Your vacuum includes multiple specially designed tools to tackle cleaning your entire home, not just the floors.

Extendable Crevice Tool: Designed to reach tight corners and crevices like on top of baseboards or behind furniture.

Dusting Brush: Designed to remove dust from surfaces such as windowsills, desks, or other hard furniture.

Soft Dusting Brush: Uses a soft bristle and lint-catching fabric to coax dust and dander off of delicate surfaces such as blinds, curtains, or lamp shades.

Mini Power Brush: Designed for deep cleaning in handheld mode (e.g., mattresses, sofas, carpeted stairs, etc.).

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury, turn OFF the vacuum and disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet before performing maintenance.

Step 1. Make sure the vacuum is turned off. Locate the bin release button on the bottom of the dirt bin.

Step 2. Gently remove the dirt bin by pulling it down and away from the unit.

Step 3. Remove the metal filter inside the bin by pulling up. Empty the dirt and debris into a waste bin.

WARNING: Do not use your NOMA SURFACEELITE + (PLUS) 043-9429-6 with a damp or wet filter in place. This may put your safety at risk.

Cleaning the Dirt Bin Filter:

To disassemble and clean, pull up on the handle at the top of the dirt bin and remove the dust barrel. Rotate the top to remove the filter element completely. Rinse with water to clean. Wait to dry completely before reassembling. Filters should be cleaned every four weeks.

Cleaning the HEPA Filter:

The HEPA filter can also be cleaned. Rotate and pull the top of the main body of the vacuum to reveal it. Remove the filter and rinse with cold water. Wait to dry completely before reassembling. The HEPA filter should be cleaned every four weeks.

Step 1. If your unit’s brushroll stops spinning while in use due to tangled debris, turn off the vacuum immediately. Flip the motor head over to reveal the brushroll.

Step 2. Press the “Push” button on top of the floor head to eject the brushroll. Remove the brushroll and manually clear debris. Hair threads and other tightly wrapped debris can be cleared by gliding a pair of scissors along the groove on the brushroll.

If your vacuum will not turn on, check the following possible causes and solutions:

Possible Causes:

1. Insufficient battery charge. The battery charger is not properly plugged into the outlet.

2. Thermal Protection has been triggered (due to over current or temperature protection).

3. The power switch motherboard is faulty.

Suggested Solutions:

1. Ensure the charging port is properly connected with the main body of the unit. Confirm the charger prongs are firmly inserted into the wall outlet. The light on the main body of the vacuum will blink when charging.

2. Allow the unit to cool down for a couple of minutes to allow the thermal protection to reset. Try turning the unit on again.

If the brushroll has stopped turning, check the following:

Possible Causes:

1. The rolling brush is blocked.

2. The brushroll is not firmly attached to the motor head.

3. The vacuum is being used on a shag rug/bath mat.

4. The belt has snapped.

Suggested Solutions:

1. Check whether the brushroll is blocked or tangled. Follow the instructions on how to clean it.

2. Inspect the brushroll where it attaches to the motor head and confirm it is firmly in place.

3. The vacuum should not be used on bath mats.

If you are experiencing low suction, check these possible causes:

Possible Causes:

1. The unit battery is low on power.

2. The dust cup is not properly installed.

3. The dust cup quilted filter is blocked.

4. The floor brush suction is blocked.

5. The dust cup is full.

Suggested Solutions:

1. Charge the unit.

2. Reinstall the dust cup.

3. Rinse the filter, allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.

4. Clean the brushroll and inspect the tube for blockage to remove.

5. Empty the dust cup.

If your vacuum will not charge, please check the following:

Possible Causes:

1. The charging port is not firmly connected to the main body of the vacuum.

2. The adaptor is not firmly connected to the wall outlet.

3. The wrong adaptor is in use.

4. The unit has overheated and activated temperature protection.

Suggested Solutions:

1. Ensure the charging port is properly connected with the main body of the unit.

2. Confirm the charger is firmly inserted into the wall outlet.

3. Use the original adaptor.

4. Allow the unit to cool for several minutes. Then, try charging the unit again.
