To install or remove the battery, follow these steps:

Step 1. Unscrew the battery cap from the tail of the device.

Step 2. Insert or remove the battery as needed. When inserting, ensure the positive end is facing towards the head of the NITECORE EX7.

Step 3. Screw the battery cap back on securely. Once the battery is installed, all indicators will turn on in sequence to confirm successful installation.

Warning: The product will not work if the battery is incorrectly inserted.

The NITECORE EX7 features an intelligent charging system. To charge the device, connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the charging port and a USB power source, such as an adapter or power bank.

During the charging process, the green power indicators will transition from flashing to a steady light to show the current battery level.

When the battery is fully charged, the charging process will cease automatically, and the green indicators will remain steadily turned on.

The lighting function remains available during charging, with the exception of the SEARCH, LUMIN SHIELD, and STROBE modes.

The charging time for a 5,500mAh 21700 Li-ion battery is approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes when using a 5V/2A adapter.

The following table outlines battery compatibility for the NITECORE EX7:

Note: SEARCH, LUMIN SHIELD, and STROBE modes are only accessible when using a 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery with a discharge current of at least 20A.

To turn the NITECORE EX7 on to the LOW setting, short press the Side Button while the light is off. The blue level indicator will light up for 5 seconds.

To turn the light on to the ULTRALOW setting, long press the Side Button while the light is off.

To switch brightness levels, short press the Side Button within 3 seconds of turning the light on to cycle through: LOW – MID – HIGH – TURBO – Off.

To turn the light off, if the device has been on for more than 3 seconds without operation, short press the Side Button.

The NITECORE EX7 allows you to set specific beam patterns for the LOW, MID, HIGH, and TURBO levels. The factory default is Spotlight.

While the light is on in one of these modes, press and hold the Side Button to cycle through the following patterns: Spotlight – Mixed Light – Floodlight.

Release the button to select and memorize your preferred beam pattern. This pattern will automatically apply to other brightness levels.

Please note that customizable beam patterns are not available in ULTRALOW, SEARCH, LUMIN SHIELD, or STROBE modes.

To access these modes when the light is on or off, double press the Side Button to activate the default setting (either SEARCH or LUMIN SHIELD). Double press again to return to the previous state.

To switch between the two modes, press and hold the Side Button while SEARCH or LUMIN SHIELD is active. Release the button to select and memorize the setting.

To turn the light off while in these modes, short press the Side Button.

To activate STROBE, quickly short press the Side Button three times whether the light is on or off.

While STROBE is active, double press the Side Button to return to the previous brightness level (if it was on) or to the LOW setting (if it was off).

To turn the light off while in STROBE, short press the Side Button.

To Lockout: While the light is off, press and hold the Side Button even after accessing ULTRALOW. Continue holding until the flashlight and all indicators flash three times. Release the button. In this mode, any short press of the button will cause indicators to flash three times without turning on the light.

To Unlock: While in Lockout Mode, short press and then long press the Side Button until all indicators light up in turn and ULTRALOW is activated.

The NITECORE EX7 will automatically unlock if the battery is replaced or if the device is plugged in for charging.

It is recommended to loosen the battery cap if the product will be unused for an extended period to prevent accidental activation.

When the light is turned on, green power indicators display the remaining battery level for 5 seconds as described below:

If the indicator flashes red, the battery is below 5% power. The output may dim or the light may become unresponsive. Recharge or replace the battery immediately.

The following performance data is based on testing using a 5,500mAh 21700 Li-ion battery in Mixed Light mode:

The NITECORE EX7 is rated IP68 (2 meters submersible) and has 2 meters of impact resistance.

Maintenance: Every 6 months, you should wipe the threads with a clean cloth and apply a thin coating of silicon-based lubricant.

Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR): The integrated ATR module regulates the output of the NITECORE EX7 based on working conditions and the ambient environment to maintain optimal performance and prevent overheating.
