Please note the following safety guidelines for the NEWLAND FM530 PRO:

1. The NEWLAND FM530 PRO is a laser class 1 device. Do not stare into the beam.

2. Turn off the laser aimer upon completion of scanner positioning/aiming. Aiming is not needed in operation.

To properly install the NEWLAND FM530 PRO, follow these guidelines:

Side View Installation:

1. Ensure that the laser passes through the slot on the test tube holder.

2. The device should be positioned parallel to the holder during installation.

Top View Installation:

1. Ensure that the surface of the scan window is parallel to the test tube.

2. The short side of the laser is the imaging center area, while the long side of the laser overlaps the scanning area.

Note: Use the laser aimer in debug mode to ensure the reading area is centered on the codes to be read.

When the NEWLAND FM530 PRO scanner is initially powered, the laser aimer is disabled by default.

The laser aimer is intended to be used during installation via debugging mode to optimize installation and should then be disabled for normal use.

The Type-C interface on the NEWLAND FM530 PRO is a USB debugging interface used to upgrade the device, and to update and download the firmware.

Follow these steps to enter and use the debug mode on your NEWLAND FM530 PRO:

1. While pressing the key button, apply power to the scanner.

2. Continue to press the key button until the aiming laser turns on and the scanner emits three beeps, then release the key button. The laser aimer will come on, indicating the center of the scan area.

3. While in debug mode, the scanner will prefix the number of good reads to the barcode data, allowing for optimization of the scanner’s position and aiming.

4. To exit debug mode, you can either depress the key button until the scanner emits three beeps and then release it, or simply cycle the power to the scanner.

Single Read Mode:

While in normal working mode, press the key button once. The scanner will emit a single beep and go into single read mode. It will turn on illumination until a code is read or the key button is pressed again.

Continuous Mode:

While in normal working mode, holding the key button down until the scanner beeps three times will enable continuous mode. To exit continuous mode, hold the button down again until the scanner beeps three times.

You can program your NEWLAND FM530 PRO by scanning specific programming barcodes for various functions:

Enter / exit setup:

Scan the “@SETUPE1” barcode to enter setup mode.

Scan the “@SETUPE0” barcode to exit setup mode.

Factory defaults:

Scan the “@FACDEF” barcode to restore all factory defaults.

Aiming LED:

Scan the “@AMLENA2” barcode to set the aiming LED to “Always on”.

Scan the “@AMLENA0” barcode to turn the aiming LED “Off”.

Caution! Protect the scan window from abrasion and contamination.

If the scan window needs to be cleaned, use a clean, lint-free cloth and commercially available window cleaner.

There are no user-serviceable parts within this product. Upon encountering faults, please refer to Newland technical support and service for repair and advice.
