What are the important safety considerations when using the MIO VELO 57P?

Please adhere to the following safety information before using your MIO VELO 57P:

• Be sure to consult your doctor before beginning a new exercise program.

• While the MIO VELO 57P provides accurate heart rate measurements, it is not a medical device.

• The MIO VELO 57P and its USB charger contain strong magnets. If you use a pacemaker, defibrillator, or other implanted electronic devices, consult your doctor before using the MIO VELO 57P.

• Refer to the charging instructions for important battery care and safety information.

What are the main components of the MIO VELO 57P?

The MIO VELO 57P device has the following main components:

• LED

• Button

• Charging Pins (on the back)

• Sensor Lights (on the back)

• Optical Sensor (on the back)

How should I wear the MIO VELO 57P for accurate heart rate monitoring?

To accurately monitor your heart rate with the MIO VELO 57P, follow these steps:

1. Fasten the MIO VELO 57P snugly on your lower forearm, about 1–3 inches (3–8cm) above your wrist bone. The optical sensor on the back should make good contact with your skin.

2. If you have a smaller wrist, wear the MIO VELO 57P higher on your forearm.

3. For cyclists or users with concave wrists, wear the MIO VELO 57P higher and on the underside of your forearm, since bending of the wrist may affect the heart rate reading.

4. If you are using the MIO VELO 57P with an ANT+ sport device, wear both devices on the same arm for a better ANT+ connection.

Important: For optimal heart rate accuracy, especially if you often have cold hands or poor circulation, we strongly recommend doing a warm up exercise for a few minutes before you begin to track your heart rate.

How do I get my heart rate reading and turn on Heart Rate (HR) Mode on my MIO VELO 57P?

You must be wearing the MIO VELO 57P to obtain an accurate heart rate reading. It may take a few seconds to stabilize. It is recommended to activate HR Mode during your warm-up.

1. While standing still, press and hold the Button until the LED lights up. The color of this LED indicates the battery level.

2. The MIO VELO 57P will immediately begin searching for your heart rate, indicated by a pulsing light blue LED.

3. Hold your arm still until the LED blinks in a distinctively slower pattern. This means the device has found your heart rate. The LED color will now indicate your current heart rate zone.

If no valid heart rate signal is found within the initial 2 minutes, the LED will light up in red for 2 seconds, and then the MIO VELO 57P will automatically leave Heart Rate Mode and turn off.

What does a steady flashing red LED mean during a workout with the MIO VELO 57P?

During your workout, if you see a red LED flashing in a steady pattern (ON for 1 second, OFF for 1 second), it means the MIO VELO 57P has lost connection to your heart rate. Please refer to troubleshooting steps to re-establish the connection.

How do I turn off Heart Rate (HR) Mode on my MIO VELO 57P?

To turn off HR Mode, press and hold the Button until the LED turns solid. Your MIO VELO 57P will switch off when the LED turns off. The color of the solid LED indicates the current battery level.

What are some troubleshooting tips for getting an initial heart rate reading with the MIO VELO 57P?

If you are having trouble getting an initial heart rate reading, try the following:

• Minimize wrist movement when the MIO VELO 57P is searching for your heart rate.

• Try tightening the strap.

• Try wearing the MIO VELO 57P higher on your forearm.

• On colder days, activate the heart rate reading before heading outdoors.

• If you are still having trouble, try wearing the MIO VELO 57P on your other arm.

How are heart rate zones determined for the MIO VELO 57P?

Your target heart rate (HR) zone consists of your upper and lower HR limits, which are usually a percentage of your maximal heart rate (MHR). If you do not know your MHR, you can check with your doctor or use the following calculation method as guidance:

MHR = 208 – (0.7 x Age)

The MIO VELO 57P has two different heart rate zone alert modes: Training Zone Mode (5-Zone) and Zone Alert Mode (1-Zone). Training Zone Mode is the factory default.

What do the LED flashes indicate on the MIO VELO 57P during heart rate monitoring?

The LED light flash pattern indicates the connection status of your MIO VELO 57P:

• If the MIO VELO 57P is connected to a Bluetooth device, the LED light will do single flashes.

• If no Bluetooth device is connected, the LED light will do double flashes.

What do the LED colors mean in Training Zone Mode (5-Zone) on the MIO VELO 57P?

In the default Training Zone Mode, the LED light will blink slowly to indicate your current 5-zone HR zone. You can customize the upper and lower boundaries of each zone through the Mio GO app.

COLOR DESCRIPTION
Light Blue Rest
