2. The power supply cord will have two buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button. You will notice a click as the RESET button pops out.

3. Press the RESET button. You will notice a click as the button engages.

4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. On some products, this is also indicated by a light on the plug head.

Important Notes:

• Do not use this device to turn the unit on or off.

• Always make sure the RESET button is pushed in for correct operation.

• The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when the TEST button is pushed, or if it cannot be reset.

• If the power supply cord is damaged, it CANNOT be repaired. It MUST be replaced by one obtained from the product manufacturer.

Here is a guide to the functions of the control panel buttons on your MIDEA MAP12S1TBL:

• Swing Button: Press to start the Auto Swing feature, which moves the louver up and down. Pressing it again will stop the louver at its current angle.

• Sleep Button: Press to activate SLEEP mode. Press again to deactivate it. Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate the filter cleaning reminder feature. The LED above the button will illuminate after 250 hours of operation as a reminder to clean the filter.

• LED Display: Shows the set temperature in °F or °C, the Auto-timer settings, and error codes. In FAN mode, it shows the room temperature.

Your MIDEA MAP12S1TBL may display the following error codes:

• P1: This indicates that the bottom water collection tray is full. You need to connect the drain hose and drain the collected water. If this protection code repeats, call for service.

• EH(xx), EL(xx), EC(xx), PH(xx), PL(xx), PC(xx): If one of these error codes appears, wait for about 10 minutes as the problem may resolve itself. If not, disconnect the power, then connect it again and turn the unit on. If the problem persists, disconnect the power and contact customer service.

When an error code occurs, turn off the unit and check for any obstructions. Restart the unit. If the malfunction continues, turn off the unit, unplug the power cord, and contact customer service.

COOL Operation:

1. Press the “MODE” button until the “COOL” indicator light comes on.

2. Press the ADJUST buttons (Up/Down) to select your desired room temperature (60°F-86°F / 16°C-30°C).

3. Press the “FAN SPEED” button to choose the fan speed.

HEAT Operation:

1. Press the “MODE” button until the “HEAT” indicator light comes on.

2. Press the ADJUST buttons (Up/Down) to select your desired room temperature (60°F-86°F / 16°C-30°C).

3. Press the “FAN SPEED” button to choose the fan speed (on some models, fan speed is not adjustable in HEAT mode).

DRY Operation (Dehumidifying):

1. Press the “MODE” button until the “DRY” indicator light comes on.

2. In this mode, fan speed is not selectable and operates at AUTO speed.

3. Keep windows and doors closed for the best dehumidifying effect.

4. Do not connect the exhaust duct to the window.

FAN Operation:

1. Press the “MODE” button until the “FAN” indicator light comes on.

2. Press the “FAN SPEED” button to choose the fan speed.

3. The temperature cannot be adjusted in this mode.

4. Do not connect the exhaust duct to a window.

AUTO Operation:

1. Set the air conditioner to AUTO mode. The unit will automatically select cooling, heating (if applicable), or fan-only operation based on your selected temperature and the current room temperature.

2. The fan speed cannot be selected in AUTO mode.

You can program the unit to turn on or off automatically.

• To set an Auto Stop time (when the unit is ON): Press the Timer button. The TIMER OFF indicator will illuminate. Use the Up/Down buttons to select the desired time until the unit turns off.

• To set an Auto Start time (when the unit is ON or OFF): If the unit is on, press the Timer button twice within 5 seconds to initiate the Auto start program. If the unit is off, press the Timer button once. The TIMER ON indicator will illuminate. Use the Up/Down buttons to select the desired time until the unit turns on.

• Adjusting the time: Press or hold the Up or Down button to change the Auto time. It adjusts in 0.5-hour increments up to 10 hours, and then in 1-hour increments up to 24 hours.

• Canceling the timer: Turning the unit ON or OFF at any time or adjusting the timer setting to 0.0 will cancel the Auto Start/Stop timer program.

The MIDEA MAP12S1TBL includes several convenient features:

• SLEEP operation: In COOL mode, the set temperature will increase by 2°F/1°C after 30 minutes, and by another 2°F/1°C after an additional 30 minutes. This new temperature will be maintained for 7 hours before returning to the originally set temperature. In HEAT mode, the temperature will decrease similarly. This feature is unavailable in FAN or DRY mode.

• AUTO-RESTART: If the unit shuts off unexpectedly due to a power outage, it will automatically restart with the previously set function when the power resumes.

• WAIT 3 MINUTES BEFORE RESUMING OPERATION: After the unit has stopped, it cannot be restarted for 3 minutes. This is a protective feature for the compressor. Operation will automatically resume after 3 minutes.

• AIRFLOW DIRECTION ADJUSTMENT: The louver can be adjusted automatically. When the unit is powered on, the louver opens fully. Press the SWING button on the control panel or remote to initiate the auto swing feature. Please do not adjust the louver manually.

• COMFORT SENSE feature (Remote Control Only): This feature allows the remote control to act as a remote thermostat. To activate, point the remote at the unit and press the set button. The remote will then send a temperature signal to the unit every 3 minutes. The unit will adjust its operation based on the temperature at the remote’s location (must be within 26 feet). This feature is unavailable in FAN or DRY mode.

The drainage method depends on the operating mode:

During DRY modes (Continuous Drainage):

1. Remove the upper drain plug from the back of the unit.

2. Install the drain connector (5/8″ universal female adapter) with a 3/4″ hose (not included). For models without a connector, just attach the drain hose to the hole.

3. Place the end of the hose directly in the drain area you’re using.

Under HEAT mode (Continuous Drainage):

1. Remove the middle drain plug from the back of the unit.

2. Install the drain connector with a 3/4″ hose (not included) and place the end of the hose in your drain area.

3. The drain hose can be elevated up to 6ft (1.8m). Ensure there are no kinks and that the end of the hose is directed downward.

When the Bottom Tray is Full (P1 Error):

1. The unit will beep 8 times and the display will show “P1”. The air conditioning/dehumidification process will stop, but the fan will continue to run.

2. Carefully move the unit to a drain location.

3. Remove the bottom drain plug and let the water drain away.

4. Reinstall the bottom drain plug firmly to prevent leakage.

5. Restart the machine. The “P1” symbol should disappear.

First, choose a location near an even surface, a grounded plug, and with at least 9.8″ (25cm) of clearance from the nearest wall.

Step 1: Prepare the Exhaust Hose and Window Slider

• For Hung Windows: Insert the Air Exhaust Adapter into the circular opening of the exhaust hose and rotate clockwise to lock it.

• Adjust the window slider panel(s) to fit the width of your window. If you use more than one panel, use the provided bolts to fasten them together at the proper length.

Step 2: Prepare the Window

• Cut the adhesive foam seals (A and B) to the proper lengths and attach them to the window sash and frame to create a seal.

Step 3: Install the Slider Assembly

• Insert the window slider assembly into the window opening. Close the window securely against the slider.

• Cut the non-adhesive foam seal C to match the window’s width and insert it between the glass and the window frame to block air and insects.

• If desired, install the security bracket with 2 screws.

Step 4: Connect the Hose

• Attach the other end of the exhaust hose to the unit.

• For Hung Windows: Attach the Hung Window Adapter to the hose. Insert this adapter into the hole of the window slider.

• For Sliding Windows: Assemble the two halves of the Sliding Window Adapter and attach the air divider. Attach this full adapter to the hose. Insert this adapter into the hole of the window slider.

NOTE: To ensure proper function, DO NOT overextend or bend the hose. Make sure that there are no objects within 20in (~500mm) of the inlet and outlet hose.

The window installation kit for your MIDEA MAP12S1TBL includes the following parts:

Safety First:

• Always unplug the unit before cleaning or servicing.

• Do not use flammable liquids or chemicals to clean the unit.

• Do not wash the unit under running water.

Air Filter Cleaning:

• Clean the air filter every 2 weeks for optimal performance. Do not operate the unit without the filter, as dirt and lint will clog it.

• The upper filter can be taken out for cleaning.

Unit Cleaning:

• Clean the unit with a soft cloth only. Do not use strong detergents that contain wax or thinners.

Follow these steps to properly store your MIDEA MAP12S1TBL:

1. Drain the unit’s water collection tray completely.

2. Run the unit on FAN mode for 12 hours in a warm room to dry the inside and prevent mold.

3. Turn off the unit and unplug it.

4. Clean the air filter according to the instructions and reinstall the clean, dry filter before storing.

5. Remove the batteries from the remote control.

6. Store the unit in a cool, dark place. Exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat can shorten its lifespan.

Handling the Remote:

• Use the remote control within a distance of 26 ft (8m) from the air conditioner, pointing it towards the unit. The unit will beep when it receives a signal.

• Prevent any liquid from spilling on the remote. Do not expose it to direct sunlight or heat.

Inserting Batteries:

1. Slide the back cover from the remote control downward.

2. Insert two AAA batteries, matching the (+) and (-) ends with the symbols inside the compartment.

3. Slide the battery cover back into place.

Battery Notes:

• Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types.

• Remove batteries if you don’t plan on using the remote for more than 2 months.

• ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.

• MODE: Switches the operating modes (Auto → Cool → Dry → Heat → Fan).

• TEMP ∧: Increases temperature in 1°F (1°C) increments. Max temperature is 86°F (30°C).

• TEMP ∨: Decreases temperature in 1°F (1°C) increments. Min temperature is 60°F (16°C).

• FAN SPEED: Switches the fan speed (Auto → Low → Medium → High).

• SWING: Starts and stops the horizontal louver movement.

• SLEEP: Saves energy during sleeping hours.

• TIMER ON: Sets a timer to turn the unit on.

• TIMER OFF: Sets a timer to turn the unit off.

TIMER ON Setting:

1. Press the TIMER ON button to initiate the ON time sequence.

2. Press the up or down button multiple times to set the desired time to turn on the unit.

3. Point the remote at the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER ON will be activated.

TIMER OFF Setting:

1. Press the TIMER OFF button to initiate the OFF time sequence.

2. Press the up or down button multiple times to set the desired time to turn off the unit.

3. Point the remote at the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER OFF will be activated.

Important Notes:

• When setting the timer, the time will increase by 30-minute increments with each press, up to 10 hours. After 10 hours, it will increase in 1-hour increments up to 24 hours.

• You can cancel either function by setting its timer to 0.0h.

• You can set both ON and OFF timers. The time periods you set refer to hours after the current time. For example, if it’s 1:00 PM and you set TIMER ON to 2.5h, the unit will turn on at 3:30 PM.
