The POWER button turns the unit on. When the machine is switched on, pressing the POWER button on the remote control will make it go into standby mode. Press the button again and the machine will switch on. You can also turn the unit on/off using the Power On/Off button (44) on the front panel.

This button is used for VCD or CD discs. Press to select left or right channel, or stereo.

Press the DVD/USB button (3) on the remote control to switch between DVD and USB play.

Press the Language button (4) to select on-screen display language options.

Press the Subtitle button (5) to begin showing subtitles.

Press the N/P button (6) to switch the TV system between NTSC and PAL.

If the disc has two or more tracks, chapters, or titles, you can set up a playing order preference using the Programme button (7).

Press the button, then input the number of the track, title or chapter. If the programmed tracks are over 10, press ‘Next’ to go on programming. Use the up/down/left/right keys to move the cursor to ‘Start’. Press ‘Enter’ to start programmed play.

With MP3 discs, press the Programme button (7) to enter ‘Directory-Play’ mode. Press ‘Programme’ again to enter file-list mode.

The A-B REPEAT button (8) specifies the parts you want to play repeatedly.

1. During playback, press A-B REPEAT to specify the starting point (point A).

2. When you reach the ending point (point B), press it again. The section between A and B will now repeat.

Press the Repeat button (9) repeatedly.

In DVD mode: scroll through repeat a title, chapter, track or go to the beginning.

In SVCD, VCD or CD mode: track repeat, all repeat or repeat cancel.

Press the Title button (10) to return to the title menu.

Use the Up arrow (11), Left arrow (12), Right arrow (29), and Down arrow (30) to navigate menus. Press Enter/Confirm (28) to make a selection.

Press the Setup button (13) for the Set Up menu.

Press the Play/Pause button (14) to play or pause the media. This function is also available via the Play/Pause button (42) on the front panel.

Press the Previous (l<<) button (15).

In DVD mode, press to go to the previous chapter.

With CD or MP3 discs, press to go to the previous track.

Press the Next (>>l) button (16).

In DVD mode, press to go to the next chapter.

With SVCD, VCD, CD, or MP3 discs, press to go to the next track.

Press the Time button (17) to manually set up the time on the DVD player display unit.

Press the Open/Close button (18) to load and remove discs. Place the disc into the tray with the title side facing up. Press the button again to close. This function is also available via the Open/Close button (41) on the front panel.

Press the OSD button (19) to display disc information.

Press the Mute/Unmute button (20).

Press the Angle button (21) to change the angle in DVD mode (if available on the disc).

Press the Zoom button (22) to zoom in, press again to zoom out. Use the arrow keys (11, 12, 29, 30) to move the picture while zoomed in.

Press Volume up (+) button (23) or Volume down (-) button (24).

Press the Slow button (25) to select slow speed playing.

Press the STEP button (26) to play video frame by frame.

In VCD mode, it controls Playback Control (PBC). In DVD mode, it enters menu settings.

Press the Return button (31) to return to the VCD menu.

Press the Fastforward button (32) or the Rewind button (33).

Press the Stop button (34) to stop media playback. Press the Play/Pause button (14) to resume. The Stop button (43) is also available on the front panel.

While playing DVD/VCD/CD/MP3 discs, use the number keys 0-9/10+ (35) to select the desired track/chapter in menu selection or directly input the number.

Press the CLEAR button (36) to clear the input information (e.g., when entering numbers).

Connect the power plug of the DVD player to a wall outlet. The power indicator and clock on the front panel will illuminate. Then, follow the cable connection guidance to connect the player to your TV.

1a. Connect an RCA cable between the 2 channel Audio Output ports (Ref.48) and the Video Output port (Ref.49) on the player to the corresponding RCA inputs on your TV.

1b. Connect an HDMI cable between the HDMI Output (Ref.47) on the back panel of the DVD player to the HDMI input on your TV.

1c. Connect a Component (Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr) cable between the (Y/Cb/Pb Cr/Pr) Output (Ref.45) of the DVD player to the corresponding Component inputs on your TV (R/L audio connections are also needed, typically using the RCA audio outputs Ref.48).

The following formats can be played: DVD, DVD-R-RW, CD Video.

1. Ensure that your TV is set to the correct input mode for DVD playback.

2. Plug in the DVD player and press the ‘Power’ button (Ref.44 on unit or Ref.1 on remote) to turn the unit on.

3. Press the Open/Close button (Ref.41 on unit or Ref.18 on remote) and place a DVD disc on the disc tray with the label side facing up. Press the Open/Close button again to close the tray.

4. The DVD player will read the disc and begin playing. You can control playback and settings via the remote control.

WARNING: If the product will not be used for an extended period of time, it is advisable to unplug it for safety.

Insert a USB stick (up to 32 GB) into the USB port (Ref.40).

Press the DVD/USB button on the remote control (Ref.3) to switch the source to USB. The DVD player will read and display the file list from the USB drive.

Browse through the file list by pressing the Up/Down/Left/Right arrow buttons (Ref.11, Ref.12, Ref.29, Ref.30) on the remote control.

Select a file by pressing the Enter button (Ref.28) on the remote control.

The DVD player’s USB port supports:

Pictures: JPEG format

Audio: mp3 format

Video: AVI/MPG/VOB format

The maximum resolution accepted for video via a USB stick is up to 720*576.

Maximum supported USB stick size is 32 GB.

The following formats can be played: Jpg, Jpeg, CD Photo.

Insert the disc. Press the STOP button (Ref.34) and 12 small pictures (thumbnails) will show on the TV screen.

Press the arrow buttons (Ref.11, Ref.12, Ref.29, Ref.30) to select the desired picture to view.

To access the instructions menu while viewing a picture, use the arrow buttons to navigate and then press the ENTER button (Ref.28) to confirm. The following options will display:

1. PROG – Select to change picture transform mode

2. STOP – Entering picture preview mode

3. PREV – Previous picture

4. NEXT – Next picture

5. PLAY – Play picture (slideshow)

6. UP – Mirror image in vertical

7. DOWN – Mirror image in horizontal

8. LEFT – Rotate 90 degrees anticlockwise

9. RIGHT – Rotate 90 degrees clockwise

10. ZOOM – Change zoom mode

11. FAST FORWARD – Zoom in the picture

12. FAST REWIND – Zoom out the picture

13. Arrow Buttons – Move zoom focus for picture.

The following formats can be played: Mp3, CD Audio, CD-R-RW, CD.

Insert the MP3 disc. While it is playing, a menu screen will display on the TV.

Press the Up/Down arrow buttons (Ref.11, Ref.30) to scroll through tracks or folders. Press the ENTER button (Ref.28) to select the track or folder.

Press the PROG button (Ref.7) in file play mode. The screen will then display the total track number and the current track playing.

Use the digit buttons (Ref.35) to key in and select the track or use the arrow buttons (Up/Down/Left/Right) to shift to the track and press the ENTER button (Ref.28) to play the track.

Setup options on System, Language, Audio, Video, Speaker and Digital can be accessed from the main setup menu.

• Press SETUP (Ref.13) on the remote control to display the main menu.

• Use UP/DOWN arrows (Ref.11, Ref.30) to move up or down in the menu. Then press ENTER (Ref.28) to confirm the selection and move to submenu.

• Use LEFT/RIGHT arrows (Ref.12, Ref.29) to move the cursor and UP/DOWN arrows to the desired option, then press ENTER to confirm.

• Press LEFT arrow (Ref.12) to return to the previous menu.

• To end the setup, press the SETUP button (Ref.13) again.

In the System Setup menu, navigate to ‘TV system’. Based on your TV hardware, select the proper option: NTSC, PAL or AUTO. The default is PAL. This setting applies to composite video output only.

In the System Setup menu, navigate to ‘Screen Saver’. Use this option to turn the screen saver ON or OFF.

In the System Setup menu, navigate to ‘Resolution’. Select one of the following video output resolutions for HDMI: OFF, 720P, 1080I, 1080P.

In the Video Setup menu, navigate to ‘Aspect Ratio’. Use this submenu to select the desired aspect ratio. Your video settings must correspond with the type of connection to your TV or other equipment.

In the Setup menu, navigate to ‘Password’. Use the numerical keys (Ref.35) on the remote to set your personal 4-digit password. The default and master password is “0000”.

In the Setup menu, navigate to ‘Parental Control’. Use this option to set an appropriate rating level to restrict viewing for children. The options available correspond to the film ratings on the disc and require the password to change.

In the Setup menu, navigate to ‘Default’. Use this option to restore the default factory settings.

In the Setup menu, navigate to ‘Resume’. If this option is set to “ON” and the power is turned off, the player will remember where it stopped playback. When the power is resumed, it will continue to play from that point.

In the Language Setup menu, navigate to ‘OSD language’. Select the language to be used for the on-screen display and setup menus.

In the Language Setup menu, navigate to ‘Audio language’. Use this option to set the preferred audio (dubbing) language for discs that support multiple languages.

In the Language Setup menu, navigate to ‘Subtitle language’. Use this option to set the preferred subtitle language, or choose ‘off’ to hide the subtitles.

In the Language Setup menu, navigate to ‘Menu language’. Use this option to set the preferred language for the disc’s menu (if available on the disc).

In the Audio Setup menu, navigate to ‘Audio out’. Use this menu to select your audio output configuration.

In the Audio Setup menu, navigate to ‘Key’. Use the UP/DOWN arrows to adjust the key (audio pitch).

In the Video Setup menu, you can select options for your image output:

Brightness: Use UP/DOWN arrows to adjust the brightness.

Contrast: Use UP/DOWN arrows to adjust the contrast.

Hue: Use UP/DOWN arrows to adjust the hue.

Saturation: Use UP/DOWN arrows to adjust the saturation.

Sharpness: Use UP/DOWN arrows to adjust the sharpness.

In the Speaker Setup menu, you can select options including downmix, subwoofer, center delay, rear delay and size of front, center and rear speakers.

The Downmix setting is primarily for Home Theater setups. If only two channels (stereo) are required, select the Stereo option. This setting determines how multi-channel audio is mixed down to fewer channels (e.g., stereo).

In the Digital Setup menu, you can select digital setup options including OP (Output Processing) mode, dynamic range, and dual/mono settings.

OP (Output Processing) mode adjusts the output level:

• For nighttime playing, select LINE OUT to set volume at a lower level.

• For daytime playing, select RF REMOD to set volume at a higher level.

When LINE OUT is selected in OP mode, use the Dynamic Range setting to adjust the line out ratio for different effects. The audio signal peak value will be at the minimum when set to Full (compressing the dynamic range for quieter loud sounds and louder quiet sounds); peak value will be at the maximum when set to Off (no compression).

Choose this option to set up the left (L) and right (R) mono output. There are four modes available in this option, typically allowing selection of Stereo, Mono Left, Mono Right, or Mix Mono output.

Observation	Potential Cause/Solution
No power/function	Check that the power is switched on at the wall. Check that the power adaptor is properly connected to the power outlet.
No video	Make sure that the video cables are connected correctly. Reset the settings of the DVD player. Check that the input setting on the TV is correct.
No audio	Make sure that the audio cables are connected correctly. Make sure that the connected stereo/TV is powered on and set to the correct input. Reset the settings of the DVD player.
Distorted video	Clean the DVD disc of dust/dirt. Check if the playback is on rewind/fast forward mode; press Play to resume normal playback.
Unable to play	Place a DVD disc in the disc tray. Place the disc in on the correct side up (label side up). Clean the DVD disc of dust/dirt. Close the setup menu of the DVD player if it’s open. Check that the file format (for USB/Data discs) is compatible with the unit.
Remote Control does not work	Aim the Remote Control towards the front panel (Remote Sensor Ref.38) of the DVD player. Use the Remote Control closer to the DVD player. Check the battery level of the batteries and replace if necessary.
