How do I use the Fn (Function) key?
The Fn key serves multiple purposes:
Mode Shift: Long press the Fn key to switch between Hi-Fi mode and Sport mode.
Voice Notice (Sport Mode): Short press the Fn key while in Sport mode to hear the current sport information (time, distance, pace, stride frequency if GPS is ready; or GPS initiating status if not ready).
How do I control playback (Play/Pause, Next/Previous)?
Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button (05).
Next File: Short press the Next button (06).
Next Folder: Long press the Next button (06).
Previous File: Short press the Previous button (07).
Previous Folder: Long press the Previous button (07).
How do I switch the power and repeat modes?
OFF: Power off.
Middle Position (Infinity symbol): Random repeat.
Right Position (Loop symbol): Sequence repeat.
How do I enter Sport mode?
What does the LED status indicate in Sport mode?
GPS initialing: LED blinking in green.
GPS ready (Pause or Stop): LED blinking fast in green twice, then pauses.
GPS ready (Playback): LED blinking slowly in green.
How do I get voice notice updates in Sport mode?
If GPS is ready, you will hear the sport time, distance, pace, and frequency of stride.
If GPS is not ready, you will hear “GPS initiating”.
Note: You can hear the voice notice even during music playback in sport mode.
How do I exit Sport mode?
Are there any special considerations for Sport mode?
Music Folder: Please copy the music you want to listen to in sport mode into a folder named
GPS Initialization: GPS initialization may take approximately 1 minute and 40 seconds when outdoors. Please be patient and try to stay still during this process.
How do I wear the PAW Pico using the arm belt?
1. Insert the PAW Pico into the back clip as shown in the manual. You should hear a “Ka Da” sound when it’s securely attached.
2. Tie the arm belt to your arm at a proper, comfortable position.
3. Press the release mechanism on the back clip and then clip the PAW Pico (with the attached back clip) onto the arm belt.
What do the LED indications mean during general operation and firmware updates?
Power on: Green LED flashes quickly.
Hi-Fi mode – Pause or Stop: Green LED flashes twice, pauses for a while, and flashes twice again.
Hi-Fi mode – Playback: Green LED flashes slowly.
Sport Mode – GPS initialization: Green LED flashes quickly.
Sport Mode – Pause or Stop: Green LED flashes twice, pauses for a while, and flashes twice again.
Sport Mode – Playback: Green LED flashes slowly.
Firmware Update – Updating: Green LED flashes quickly.

How do I update the firmware on the PAW Pico?
1. Ensure the Pico is turned off. Press and hold the
2. Connect the Pico to your PC using the provided USB cable. A removable disk representing the Pico’s storage should appear on your computer.
3. Copy the firmware file named “pawpico.coe” to the root directory of this removable disk.
4. Safely disconnect the USB cable from the Pico. Wait until the green LED stops blinking and stays constantly on. This indicates the update procedure is complete.
*Notice: If the green LED turns off instead of staying on, the update has failed. Please attempt the update procedure again.
How do I format the PAW Pico’s disk?
*Notice: Only format the Pico if absolutely necessary.
1. Connect the Pico to your PC using the USB cable. A removable disk should appear.
2. For Windows users: Format the disk using the exFAT file system. Ensure the cluster size (allocation unit size) is set to larger than 32KB.
For MacOS users: Format the disk using the exFAT file system. When selecting the partition scheme/map, choose Master Boot Record (MBR).
3. After the formatting procedure is finished, safely eject the disk from your computer and then disconnect the USB cable.

The warranty covers faults occurring under normal operation according to the manual, provided the device has not been disassembled.
Within 15 days of purchase: Subject to returns, replacement, or maintenance.

The main device, built-in lithium battery, and USB data cable are subject to a 12-month warranty period.
