LOTOO PAW PICO (01) PDF MANUAL

The PAW Pico features the following ports and controls:

01: USB 2.0 communication and charging ports

02: Fn function key/mode shift key (Long press to switch between Hi-Fi mode and Sport mode, short press for voice notice)

03: Power and repeat mode switch (OFF Power off / Random repeat / sequence repeat)

04: Status LED

05: Play/Pause button

06: Next file (short press) / Next folder (long press) button

07: Previous file (short press) / Previous folder (long press) button

08: Headphone jack

09: Volume Knob

10: Slot for Back clip

The Fn key serves multiple purposes:

Mode Shift: Long press the Fn key to switch between Hi-Fi mode and Sport mode.

Voice Notice (Sport Mode): Short press the Fn key while in Sport mode to hear the current sport information (time, distance, pace, stride frequency if GPS is ready; or GPS initiating status if not ready).

Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button (05).

Next File: Short press the Next button (06).

Next Folder: Long press the Next button (06).

Previous File: Short press the Previous button (07).

Previous Folder: Long press the Previous button (07).

Use the Power and repeat mode switch (03):

OFF: Power off.

Middle Position (Infinity symbol): Random repeat.

Right Position (Loop symbol): Sequence repeat.

Long press the key until you hear the voice notice. The LED will start blinking in green.

GPS initialing: LED blinking in green.

GPS ready (Pause or Stop): LED blinking fast in green twice, then pauses.

GPS ready (Playback): LED blinking slowly in green.

Short press the key. You will hear the current sport information.

If GPS is ready, you will hear the sport time, distance, pace, and frequency of stride.

If GPS is not ready, you will hear “GPS initiating”.

Note: You can hear the voice notice even during music playback in sport mode.

Long press the key until you hear the voice notice indicating you are exiting sport mode.

Music Folder: Please copy the music you want to listen to in sport mode into a folder named on the device.

GPS Initialization: GPS initialization may take approximately 1 minute and 40 seconds when outdoors. Please be patient and try to stay still during this process.

1. Insert the PAW Pico into the back clip as shown in the manual. You should hear a “Ka Da” sound when it’s securely attached.

2. Tie the arm belt to your arm at a proper, comfortable position.

3. Press the release mechanism on the back clip and then clip the PAW Pico (with the attached back clip) onto the arm belt.

Power on: Green LED flashes quickly.

Hi-Fi mode – Pause or Stop: Green LED flashes twice, pauses for a while, and flashes twice again.

Hi-Fi mode – Playback: Green LED flashes slowly.

Sport Mode – GPS initialization: Green LED flashes quickly.

Sport Mode – Pause or Stop: Green LED flashes twice, pauses for a while, and flashes twice again.

Sport Mode – Playback: Green LED flashes slowly.

Firmware Update – Updating: Green LED flashes quickly.

Firmware Update – Update done: Green LED stays on.

Firmware Update – Update failed: Green LED is off.

Power on status – Charging or external power connected: Red LED stays on.

Power off status – Recharging: Red LED stays on.

Power off status – Recharge done: Red LED is off.

1. Ensure the Pico is turned off. Press and hold the key and the key simultaneously, then switch the power on. The LED will start blinking in green.

2. Connect the Pico to your PC using the provided USB cable. A removable disk representing the Pico’s storage should appear on your computer.

3. Copy the firmware file named “pawpico.coe” to the root directory of this removable disk.

4. Safely disconnect the USB cable from the Pico. Wait until the green LED stops blinking and stays constantly on. This indicates the update procedure is complete.

*Notice: If the green LED turns off instead of staying on, the update has failed. Please attempt the update procedure again.

*Notice: Only format the Pico if absolutely necessary.

1. Connect the Pico to your PC using the USB cable. A removable disk should appear.

2. For Windows users: Format the disk using the exFAT file system. Ensure the cluster size (allocation unit size) is set to larger than 32KB.

For MacOS users: Format the disk using the exFAT file system. When selecting the partition scheme/map, choose Master Boot Record (MBR).

3. After the formatting procedure is finished, safely eject the disk from your computer and then disconnect the USB cable.

Note: If anything is missing, please contact the device supplier promptly.

If errors occur or the system freezes, try pressing and holding the “Fn” button and the “Play/Pause” button simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. This should force the device to turn off.

Hearing Safety: To avoid permanent hearing loss, set the volume to a proper level for long listening sessions. Always pause playback and turn down the volume before inserting headphones.

Power Adapter: Use a power adapter with a voltage of 5V and a current higher than 0.5A.

Battery Care: If the device hasn’t been used for a long time, recharge it regularly to maintain battery life. Do not expose the battery to direct sun, fire, or overheated environments. Stop using immediately if the battery feels hot.

GPS Performance: GPS signal levels can vary at the same location due to different satellite statuses and time ranges. Performance may differ based on the specific model.

Handling: Do not disassemble the device yourself. Avoid using it in dusty or smoky areas. Do not beat the device or its accessories. Do not place heavy objects on it.

Cleaning: Do not clean the device with chemical solvents or detergents.

Magnetic Substances: Keep the device away from magnetic substances to prevent damage or malfunction.

Environment: Avoid using the device in places where it might be exposed to water drops or high humidity, as this can damage the circuit or cause burning.

Users must register their purchased product within 15 days from the purchase date to be entitled to full after-sales services. Please visit the official website (www.lotoo.cn) for product registration. If not registered within 15 days, the manufacturer provides a 15-month limited warranty based on the ex-factory date.

The warranty covers faults occurring under normal operation according to the manual, provided the device has not been disassembled.

Within 15 days of purchase: Subject to returns, replacement, or maintenance.

Within 16 to 30 days of purchase: Subject to replacement or maintenance.

The main device, built-in lithium battery, and USB data cable are subject to a 12-month warranty period.

The warranty applies only to failures related to product quality problems affecting normal functions and technical indicators.

Wear-out and damage to product appearance and packaging.

Damages caused by artificial or accidental breakdowns.

Damages caused by using non-original power adapters or connecting non-compatible devices.

Damages due to artificial factors (e.g., operations in abnormal conditions, breach of manual, falling, collision).

Devices disassembled, repaired, or refitted by users without authorization or by a third party.

Damages caused by force majeure (e.g., flood, fire, earthquake, lightning).

For circumstances not covered by the free warranty but occurring within the warranty period, repair service is available, but costs for components, parts, and accessories will be charged.
