What are the safety precautions for installing the LOREX ACSOL1?
When installing the LOREX ACSOL1, follow these precautions:
Ensure you can safely drill into your selected mounting location, and the mounting surface can support at least 3 times the combined weight of the solar panel, wall mount bracket, and camera.
The LOREX ACSOL1 may require periodic cleaning to ensure it is capturing light effectively. Use a damp cloth only. Do not use chemical cleaners.
Do not dispose of the battery in regular garbage. Handle as hazardous waste. Dispose according to local hazardous waste programs.
How do I position the LOREX ACSOL1 for optimal performance?
Follow these tips to position your LOREX ACSOL1:
Choose a location for the solar panel with plenty of direct sunlight exposure. Do not install in a covered or shaded area.
Performance of the LOREX ACSOL1 is dependent on temperature and light exposure.
Position the LOREX ACSOL1 in the desired mounting area and check the LED indicator on the underside of the panel. If the LED turns on, the solar panel is receiving sufficient light to power your camera.
The LOREX ACSOL1 requires at least 3 to 4 hours of direct sunlight per day. Rotate the panel to face the direction where it will get the most exposure to sunlight.
How do I install the LOREX ACSOL1 and camera in the same location?
To install the LOREX ACSOL1 and camera in the same location, follow these steps:
1. Loosen the adjustment ring to position the mount head at the optimal angle determined in the positioning steps. Twist the solar panel onto the mounting bracket.
2. Tighten the adjustment ring, then tighten the screw under the mounting point using a Phillips screwdriver (not included).
3. Set the mounting bracket in the desired mounting position and mark holes for screws.
4. Drill the holes using the included drillbit.
5. Insert the included anchors, then attach the bracket to the mounting surface using the provided screws. Make sure all screws are fastened tightly.
6. Feed the cable from the LOREX ACSOL1 through the cable gland on the base of your wire free camera (not included).
7. Lower the camera base onto the mounting bracket. Align the 2 tabs in the mounting bracket with the 2 slots in the camera base. Push down on the camera base to lock into place.
8. Connect the cable from the LOREX ACSOL1 to the USB port on your wire free camera Power Pack.
9. Ensure the rubber plug cover is fitted over the USB connector. To ensure a weatherproof seal, twist and push the plug cover until the end of the USB connector is visible. Pull gently on the cable to ensure it remains connected.
10. Insert the security screw through the fastener on the top of the camera base, which lines up with a hole on the mounting bracket. Tighten using a Phillips screwdriver.
How can I tell if the LOREX ACSOL1 is charging the camera Power Pack?
Check the LED indicator on the Power Pack to ensure it is receiving power from the LOREX ACSOL1. The LED glows red if the Power Pack is charging, and green for fully charged.
How do I install the LOREX ACSOL1 in a different location than the camera?
To install the LOREX ACSOL1 in a separate, exposed location from your sheltered camera, follow these steps:
1. Loosen the adjustment ring to position the mount head at the optimal angle. Twist the solar panel onto the mounting bracket.
2. Tighten the adjustment ring, then tighten the screw under the mounting point using a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Set the mounting bracket in the desired mounting position and mark holes for screws.
4. Drill the holes using the included drillbit.
5. Insert the included anchors, then attach the bracket to the mounting surface using the provided screws. Make sure all screws are fastened tightly.
6. If your wire free camera is already mounted, detach the camera from the mounting plate by removing the security screw. Lift the camera up and away from the mounting surface.
7. Connect the included extension cable to the LOREX ACSOL1 cable. Ensure the cables are connected tightly for a weatherproof seal.
8. Feed the cable from the LOREX ACSOL1 through the cable gland on the base of your wire free camera.
9. Lower the camera base onto the mounting plate, and reattach the security screw.
10. Connect the cable from the LOREX ACSOL1 to the USB port on your wire free camera Power Pack.
11. Ensure the rubber plug cover is fitted over the USB connector. To ensure a weatherproof seal, twist and push the plug cover until the end of the USB connector is visible. Pull gently on the cable to ensure it remains connected.
12. You may optionally use the included cable guides with the cable guide screws and optional drywall anchors as needed.
