The LINN CUSTOM 2K 106C has the following features:

• It is a 3-way custom loudspeaker with an integrated acoustic enclosure.

• It can be installed in a vertical or horizontal orientation.

• It can be installed in-wall or in-ceiling.

• The loudspeaker is paintable.

• It can be reconfigured for active operation to enhance performance.

Please consider the following before starting work:

• Read through all instructions carefully.

• Do not position the loudspeaker where in-wall cables, pipes, beams, or studs may obstruct the installation. Use a cable/pipe/stud detector to ensure the wall cavity is clear of obstructions.

• Ensure the wall cavity is sufficiently deep, with a minimum depth of 100 mm / 4 inches.

• As supplied, this loudspeaker is suitable for installation into plasterboard, partition, or panel walls. For installation into solid walls (brick, stone, concrete, etc.), an additional wall box is required.

• For in-ceiling installation, please refer to the specific instructions for ceiling mounting.

• Use the included Paint Mask to protect the loudspeaker from dirt and damage during handling and installation.

If painting is required, follow these steps:

1. Remove the grille.

2. Spray-paint the loudspeaker with the Paint Mask fitted to protect the drivers.

3. Spray-paint the grille separately.

1. Select the desired installation position. Use the provided cutout template as a guide to mark the wall.

2. Cut the opening in the wall.

3. Turn the amplifier power off before making any connections.

4. Connect the speaker cables to the appropriate terminals on the loudspeaker.

5. Insert the loudspeaker into the wall opening.

6. Hold the loudspeaker in place and fit two corner screws to temporarily secure it.

7. With the loudspeaker held in place by the first two screws, use both hands to fit the remaining six screws. Do not overtighten the screws.

8. If needed, apply the provided grey gum to the corners of the grille to prevent rattling.

9. Fit the grille onto the loudspeaker.

For the best performance, ensure the 2K Array/Skoop driver assembly is oriented so that the drivers are aligned with the longest axis of the loudspeaker baffle. The 2K Array/Skoop assembly can be rotated 90° if required to achieve this alignment for either horizontal or vertical installation.

For ceiling installations, follow these guidelines for best results and safety:

• Orient the loudspeaker to take account of the sound dispersal pattern, relative to the primary listening position.

• Attach a safety cable to the fixing point indicated on the loudspeaker. Attach the other end of the cable securely to a beam or joist. A Linn safety cable is available, part no: MECH 728.
