What are the general safety cautions for this product?
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover (or back). There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

The LG Wi-Fi Sound Bar includes the following main features:
LG Sound Sync: Controls the volume level of this unit using the remote control of your LG TV that is compatible with LG Sound Sync.
“LG Wi-Fi Speaker” application: Allows you to listen to music stored on your smart device. You can control this speaker with your iPod touch/iPhone or Android device via the “LG Wi-Fi Speaker” app. This speaker and your smart device must be connected to the same network. Depending on the application’s version and the software of the smart device, the app may not operate normally. Some smart devices may not be compatible with this speaker.

How do I use the BT Lock On/Off function?
This function allows you to connect a Bluetooth device only on Bluetooth and LG TV functions.
To turn on: Press and hold AUTO POWER on the remote control for about 2 seconds in Bluetooth function, then press the button again. “OFF – BT LOCK” will be scrolled.
To turn off: Press and hold AUTO POWER on the remote control for about 2 seconds in Bluetooth function, then press the button again. “ON – BT LOCK” will be scrolled.

How do I organize the cables for the sound bar?

How do I connect the AC Adapter to the sound bar?
Connect the sound bar to the power supply with the supplied AC adapter.
1. Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC adapter.
2. Connect the AC adapter cable to the DC IN adapter input.
3. Plug the AC power cord into an AC outlet.
Caution: Only use the AC adapter supplied with this device. Do not use a power supply from another device or manufacturer. Using any other power cable or power supply may cause damage to the device and void your warranty.
How do I set up the wireless subwoofer for the first time?
1. Connect the power cord of the sound bar and the wireless subwoofer to the outlet.
2. Turn on the sound bar. The sound bar and the wireless subwoofer will be automatically connected.
What do the LED indicators on the wireless subwoofer mean?

2. Turn on the sound bar.
3. Pairing is completed, and the green LED on the rear of the wireless subwoofer will turn on.
It takes a few seconds (and may take longer) for the main unit and the subwoofer to communicate and make sounds.
The closer the main unit and the subwoofer are, the better the sound quality. Avoid obstacles between them and devices using the same frequency (e.g., medical equipment, microwaves, wireless LAN devices).
Keep the sound bar and the subwoofer away from such devices (e.g., wireless router, microwave oven) by over 1 m (3.3 ft) to prevent wireless interference.
How do I connect the rear speakers (Sold Separately)?
1. Connect the black stripe wire to the terminal marked – (minus) and the other end to the terminal marked + (plus).
Caution: Use only the speaker supplied with this unit. Using any other speaker may cause malfunction. Be sure to match the speaker cable to the appropriate terminal on the components: + to + and – to -. If the cables are reversed, the sound will be distorted and will lack bass.

How do I use the Surround Sound function?
You can enjoy magnificent surround sound for all input sound sources with rear speakers.
If you turn on the surround function, the whole speaker outputs sound. When you turn off the surround function, the speakers output sound as an original input sound channel.
To turn on the surround function, press and hold AUTO VOL on the remote control for about 2 seconds, and then press it once again while “OFF – SURROUND” is scrolled.
To turn off the surround function, press and hold AUTO VOL on the remote control for about 2 seconds, and then press it once again while “ON – SURROUND” is scrolled.

How do I affix the ferrite core to the speaker cables?
The ferrite core helps reduce or eliminate electrical interference.
1. Pull the stopper [a] of the ferrite core to open.
2. Wind the speaker cables around the ferrite core twice.
3. Close the ferrite core until it clicks.
Note:
If a strong electromagnetic wave product is nearby, interference may occur. Move the main unit and wireless receiver away from it.
The wireless receiver will automatically switch to standby mode a few minutes after the sound bar is turned off. When the wireless receiver is in standby mode, the LED will turn on in red.
When you turn on the sound bar, the wireless receiver will turn on and the LED will change to yellow – green, and then the rear speakers will produce sound within a few seconds.
It takes a few seconds (and may take longer) for the main unit and Wireless Receiver to communicate with each other.
Use the rear speaker at least 30 cm (11.8 inch) away from either TV screen or PC monitor.
When the wireless receiver is being connected or disconnected with the main unit, output sound may be interrupted.
Set the distance between the sound bar and the wireless receiver as close as possible and keep them away from devices (e.g., wireless router, microwave oven, etc.) over 1 m (3.3 ft) to prevent wireless interference.

1. Connect the OPTICAL IN jack on the back of the unit to the OPTICAL OUT jack on the TV using an OPTICAL cable.
2. Select the input source to OPT/HDMI ARC by pressing the F button on the remote or unit repeatedly.
“OPT” will appear on the display window if connected normally.
Note:
Before connecting the optical cable, be sure to remove the protection plug cover if your cable has one.
You can enjoy TV audio through the speakers of this unit. For some TV models, you may need to select the external speaker option from the TV menu.
Set up the sound output of the TV to listen to the sound through this unit: TV setting menu -> [Sound] -> [TV Sound output] -> [External speaker (Optical)].

2. Select the LG TV function by using F on the remote control or F on the unit until the function is selected.
3. Set up LG Sound Sync (Wireless) on the TV. Refer to the TV’s instruction manual.
“PAIRED” will appear on the display window for about 3 seconds, followed by “LG TV” if connected normally.
Note:
You can also use the remote control of this unit while using LG Sound Sync. If you use the TV’s remote control again, the unit synchronizes with the TV.
If the connection fails, make sure of the condition of the TV and power.
Ensure the condition of this unit and the connection when using LG Sound Sync in the following cases:
The unit is turned off.
Changing the function to others.
Disconnecting the optical cable.
The time to turn off this unit differs depending on your TV when AUTO POWER function is set to ON.
If you turned off the unit directly by pressing the power button, LG Sound Sync (Wireless) will be disconnected.
If your TV and this unit are connected through LG Sound Sync (Wireless), this unit will be in Network standby mode regardless of the status of network connection when this unit is turned off. Check for a dimmed white LED on the unit.
How do I connect the sound bar to my TV using an HDMI cable?
If your TV supports HDMI CEC and ARC (Audio Return Channel), you can enjoy TV audio through the sound bar without an optical cable.
1. Connect the HDMI OUT (TV ARC) jack on the back of the unit to the ARC jack on the TV using an HDMI cable.
2. Select the input source to OPT/HDMI ARC by pressing the F button on the remote or unit repeatedly.
“ARC” will appear on the display window if connected normally.
Note:

What is the ARC (Audio Return Channel) function?
The ARC function enables an HDMI capable TV to send the audio stream to the HDMI OUT of the unit.
To use this function:
Your TV must support the HDMI-CEC and ARC functions, and both must be set to On.
The setting method of HDMI-CEC and ARC may differ depending on the TV. Refer to your TV manual for details.
You must use an HDMI cable (Type A, High Speed HDMI™ cable with Ethernet).
You must connect the HDMI OUT on the unit to the HDMI IN of the TV that supports ARC function using an HDMI cable.
You can connect only one Sound bar to a TV compatible with ARC.
What is SIMPLINK?
SIMPLINK is a feature that allows some functions of this unit to be controlled by the TV’s remote control when this unit and LG TVs with SIMPLINK are connected through HDMI. Controllable functions include power on/off, volume up/down, etc. Refer to the TV owner’s manual for details of the SIMPLINK function. LG TVs with SIMPLINK function have the specified logo.
Note:
Depending on the state of the unit, some SIMPLINK operations may differ from your purpose or not work.
Depending on the TV or player connected to this unit, SIMPLINK operation may differ from your purpose.
What should I know about HDMI connection for external devices?
When connecting an HDMI or DVI compatible device:
Try switching off the HDMI/DVI device and this player. Then, switch on the HDMI/DVI device and wait for about 30 seconds before switching on this player.
Ensure the connected device’s video input is set correctly for this unit.
The connected device should be compatible with 720 x 576p (or 480p), 1280 x 720p, 1920 x 1080i, 1920 x 1080p video input.
Not all HDCP-compatible HDMI or DVI devices will work with this player. The picture may not be displayed properly with a non-HDCP device.
Note:
If a connected HDMI device does not accept the audio output of the player, the HDMI device’s audio sound may be distorted or may not output.
Changing the resolution when the connection has already been established may result in malfunctions. To solve the problem, turn off the player and then turn it on again.
When the HDMI connection with HDCP is not verified, the TV screen will change to black. In this case, check the HDMI connection, or disconnect the HDMI cable.
If there are noises or lines on the screen, please check the HDMI cable (length is generally limited to 4.5 m (15 ft)).
You cannot change the video resolution in the HDMI mode. Change the video resolution of the connected component.
If the video output signal is abnormal when your personal computer is connected to the HDMI IN jack, change the resolution of your personal computer to 576p (or 480p), 720p, 1080i or 1080p.
What is DOLBY ATMOS® and how do I use it?
DOLBY ATMOS® provides an amazing experience with overhead sound and all the richness, clarity, and power of Dolby sound.
For using DOLBY ATMOS®:
DOLBY ATMOS® is available only in HDMI IN and ARC mode.
To use DOLBY ATMOS® in ARC mode, your TV must support DOLBY ATMOS®.
It is needed to set up an audio output on external devices (Blu-ray disc player, TV etc.) to “No encoding” such as “Bitstream”, “Auto” or “Bypass”.
If you can select audio output sampling rate, set it to 192 kHz.
To connect and use DOLBY ATMOS®:
1. Connect the HDMI IN jack on the back of the unit to the HDMI OUT jack on the external device such as a Blu-ray disc player, DVD player, etc.
2. Connect the HDMI OUT (TV ARC) jack on the back of the unit to the HDMI IN (ARC) jack on the TV.
3. Set the input source to HDMI or OPT/HDMI ARC. Press repeatedly F on the remote control or F on the unit until the function is selected.
If you select HDMI, you can hear the sound from the external device. Select it when playing the external device.
If you select OPT/HDMI ARC, you can hear the sound from your TV. Select it when watching the TV.
You will see “DOLBY ATMOS” on the display window if connecting normally between this sound bar and your TV and DOLBY ATMOS content is played.
Note:
DOLBY ATMOS® supports 2.1 channel (4.1 channel when connected with Rear kit).
If the sound bar does not have sound or the video on TV is not smooth, the HDMI cable may be the problem.

You can enjoy sound from an external device connected to the HDMI IN jack on this unit.
1. Connect the HDMI IN jack on the back of the unit to the HDMI OUT jack on the audio device (such as a Blu-ray disc player, DVD player, etc.).
2. Set the input source to HDMI. Press repeatedly F on the remote control or F on the unit until the function is selected.
How do I connect an external device via OPTICAL IN?
Connect an optical output jack of external devices to the OPTICAL IN jack.
1. Connect the OPTICAL IN jack on the back of the unit to the optical out jack of your external device.

1. Connect the portable player to the PORTABLE IN connector of the unit.

4. Turn on the portable player or external device and start playing it.
How do I connect optional equipment for both sound and picture?
1. Connect the HDMI IN jack of your TV to the HDMI OUT jack on the external device (such as a Blu-ray disc player, DVD player, etc.).
2. Connect the OPTICAL IN jack on the back of the unit to the OPTICAL OUT jack on the TV using an OPTICAL cable. Alternatively, connect the HDMI OUT (TV ARC) jack on the back of the unit to the HDMI IN (ARC) jack on the TV using an HDMI cable.
3. Set the input source to OPT/HDMI ARC. Press repeatedly F on the remote control or F on the unit until the function is selected.

How do I connect the sound bar to my home network via a wired connection?
Using a wired connection provides the best performance by connecting devices directly to the network without radio frequency interference.
Connect your sound bar to the home router using a LAN cable.
How do I connect the sound bar to my home network wirelessly?
If a wired connection is unavailable between your sound bar and home router, you can connect it wirelessly.
The “LG Wi-Fi Speaker” app is required to connect the sound bar wirelessly to the network.
Download and install the “LG Wi-Fi Speaker” app on your smart device. Launch the application and follow the instructions on the screen of your smart device to connect the sound bar wirelessly.
Requirements:
A wireless router must be connected to the internet.
A smart device such as a smartphone or tablet must be connected to the wireless router via Wi-Fi connection.

What should I know about Bluetooth Wireless Technology?
Bluetooth is a wireless communication technology for short-range connection.
The sound may be interrupted if the connection is interfered by other electronic waves or if you connect the Bluetooth in other rooms.
Connecting individual devices under Bluetooth wireless technology does not incur any charges. A mobile phone with Bluetooth wireless technology can be operated via Cascade if the connection was made via Bluetooth wireless technology.

Before you start the pairing procedure, ensure the Bluetooth feature on your smart device is turned on. Once paired, it doesn’t need to be performed again.
1. Select the Bluetooth function by using F on the remote control or F on the unit until “BT” and then “READY” appear in the display window.

Repeat icon – Repeats the desired contents. Every time you click it, the state changes: Repeat One – Repeat All – Repeat Off.

You can select a desired sound mode by tapping the sound effect icon.
The displayed items for the equalizer may differ depending on the connected speaker, sound sources, and effects.
1. During playback, tap the sound effect icon.
2. Select the sound effect using the left and right arrows and tap [OK].
You can customize the sound effect by using the sound effect icon to adjust Treble and Bass values.
Note:
When you listen to music with your smart device’s speaker, the sound equalizer is not supported.
Depending on the connected speaker, the displayed sound effect may differ.

You can set up settings for the connected speaker within your smart device using the “LG Wi-Fi Speaker” app.
Preparation:
1. Check the network connection with the speaker.
2. To use the speaker, you must download and install the “LG Wi-Fi Speaker” app.
To access connected speaker settings: On the [My Speakers] screen, select the settings icon to set up the connected speaker settings.
Note: You may not see some menu options depending on the connected device.

[Name Change] – Renames the speaker.
[Sound Effect] – Selects a sound effect mode.
[Night] – Turns on or off Night Mode function.
[DRC] – Reduces the volume of loud sounds or amplifies quiet sounds (Dolby Digital only). Turns on or off DRC function.
[Auto Volume On/Off] – Turns on or off Auto Volume function.
[AV Sync] – Adjusts the audio and video Synchronization.
[Woofer level] – Adjusts Woofer level.
[Rear speaker output] – Selects the rear speaker output.
[Rear speaker level] – Adjusts Rear speaker level.
[Overhead speaker volume] – Adjusts Overhead speaker volume level.
[Using the TV remote control] – Adjusts some functions of the speaker with your TV remote control.
[Auto Power On/Off] – Turns on or off Auto Power function.
[Bluetooth standby mode] – Turns on or off Bluetooth standby mode.
[Bluetooth connection restriction] – Enables connection of Bluetooth devices only on Bluetooth or LG TV function.
[Sleep timer] – Turns off by itself after the set time.
[Reset settings] – Resets the speaker settings except network information.
[Software version information] – Displays the current Software version information and updates the software to the latest version.
[IP Info.] – Shows the IP address of the speaker.
[Share usage data] – Selects whether to send Chromecast usage data and crash reports to Google.
