To start using your LG RP4 speaker, follow these steps in order:

1. Connect the power cord to the product and charge it before use. The power socket is at the bottom of the product.

2. Connect the speaker to a smartphone using Bluetooth to play music.

3. To play music from a USB device, open the back cover and plug the USB storage device into the USB terminal.

4. To connect to an external device, open the back cover and connect the device to the AUX IN terminal via a 3.5 mm stereo cable.

5. For more functions, find and install the LG XBOOM app on your smartphone.

You can play music from your smartphone on the LG RP4 speaker by connecting via Bluetooth. Please check that your Bluetooth device is version 4.0 and supports SBC or AAC codecs.

1. Press the Power button on the product to turn it on.

2. Press and hold the Function button on the product until you hear a notification sound. The Bluetooth LED will blink for 60 seconds.

3. Tap the Settings button on your smartphone and select Bluetooth. Turn on the Bluetooth function.

4. From the list of connectable devices on your smartphone, find and tap on “LG-RP4(XX)”. “XX” represents the last two digits of the Bluetooth address.

5. Once the smartphone is connected, the Bluetooth LED on the speaker will turn on. You can now play a desired track in the music app on your smartphone.

If “LG-RP4(XX)” does not appear on the list, tap the Refresh icon on an Android phone or restart Bluetooth on an iPhone.

Yes, you can connect up to two Bluetooth devices to the LG RP4 speaker simultaneously using the multi-phone pairing feature.

1. First, connect the product to one Bluetooth device as you normally would.

2. Press and hold the Function button on the product until you hear a notification sound. The Bluetooth LED will blink for 60 seconds.

3. Within 60 seconds, connect the second Bluetooth device to the speaker.

4. When both devices are connected, the Bluetooth LED on the speaker will turn on.

Note: When two devices are connected, only one can play sound at a time. You must stop playback on the first device to play sound from the second device.

To play music from a USB storage device, follow these steps:

1. Open the back cover of the product and plug the USB storage device into the USB terminal.

2. Press the Power button to turn on the product.

3. Press the Function button repeatedly to select the USB function. The USB LED will turn on.

4. Press the Play/Pause button to enjoy the music.

Note: The product supports USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 flash devices formatted with FAT16/FAT32. exFAT/NTFS formats are not supported. For playable file specifications, please refer to the relevant question.

The LG RP4 supports the following file types from a USB device:

Number of playable files: 2,000 or less

Maximum number of directories: 200 or less

The product cannot play files protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management).

The product cannot play video files in a USB storage device.

You can connect various external devices to your LG RP4 speaker using a 3.5 mm stereo cable.

1. Open the back cover of the product and connect the external device to the AUX IN terminal using a 3.5 mm stereo cable.

2. Press the Power button to turn on the product.

3. Press the Function button on the product repeatedly to select AUX. The AUX LED will turn on.

4. If you play music on the connected external device, you can start listening on this product.

To use the various functions of the speaker, you can install the LG XBOOM app. Ensure your device meets the OS requirements: Android OS Version 5.0 or higher, or iOS OS Version 10 or higher.

1. Find the LG XBOOM app on the Google Play or App Store and install it on your smartphone.

2. Connect your smartphone to the speaker via Bluetooth.

3. Open the LG XBOOM app installed on your smartphone.

4. Follow the instructions on the app, agreeing to the Terms of Service, notices, and access settings.

5. You can now start using the various functions on the LG XBOOM app.

Connecting two compatible products with Wireless Party Link-Twin mode provides a deeper and richer sound. You will need a second product that supports this feature.

1. On both speakers, open the cover on the back.

2. On one speaker, press the TWIN button to select MAIN. On the other speaker, press the TWIN button to select OTHER.

3. Wait for the MAIN LED or OTHER LED to blink, indicating they are ready to connect.

4. When they are successfully connected, the MAIN LED and OTHER LED on both speakers will turn on.

5. Play music on the MAIN product to hear it from both speakers.

Note: You cannot operate the OTHER product while in Twin mode. Only the MAIN product can be connected to a Bluetooth device.

The top panel of the LG RP4 contains the main controls for operation:

Mood lighting: Press the button to select the desired mood lighting (Ambient, Nature, Party, Off). Press and hold to turn the mood lighting off.

Battery LED: Shows the battery charging level and status.

Power: Turns the product on/off. If you press and hold for 2 seconds while the product is on, you can see the battery status on the battery LED.

Volume – / +: Controls the volume level.

Play/Pause: Press this button to operate the product. Its function changes based on the input source:

Function: Press repeatedly to select the input mode (BT, USB, AUX). Press and hold for 2 seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode.

Function LED: Indicates the selected input mode or Bluetooth connection status.

You can check the battery status of your LG RP4 by observing the Battery LED.

Charging Status (when plugged in):

When the product is turned on, the battery status is displayed on the battery LED for 3 seconds. You can also check the status by pressing and holding the Power button for 2 seconds while the unit is on.

Note: The battery status cannot be checked while the speaker is charging.

The LG RP4 speaker is designed to turn off automatically if there is no playback or button input for 15 minutes. You can enable or disable this feature using the LG XBOOM app.

When the power saving function is turned off, the product will only turn off when the Power button is pressed or the battery is fully discharged.

If your LG RP4 speaker is not operating properly, you can perform a reset or initialize the software.

Resetting the product:

1. Open the back cover of the product.

2. Use a sharp object, such as a pin, to press the RESET button. This will power off the product.

3. Turn the product back on by pressing the Power button.

Initializing the Software (resets Bluetooth connection and all settings):

1. Press and hold the Function button on the product for 7 seconds or longer.

2. All function LEDs will blink four times to indicate that the Bluetooth connection and all settings have been initialized.

After initializing, you will need to reconnect your Bluetooth device again.

If you are experiencing issues with your LG RP4 speaker, please check the following solutions:

Power is not supplied.

The battery may be discharged. Recharge the battery by connecting the power cord.

There is no sound or the sound is distorted.

The volume of the speaker or the connected Bluetooth device may be set to the minimum. Adjust the volume to an appropriate level.

Using an external device with maximized sound may cause distortion. Lower the volume of the external device.

The USB storage device is not recognised.

The product may not support the file system of the USB device. Format the USB storage device to a supported format (FAT16/FAT32) and reconnect it.

Bluetooth connection failed.

Check if the Bluetooth setting is enabled on your device. Try turning the Bluetooth setting off and on again.

Make sure there are no obstacles between the speaker and the Bluetooth device.

Bluetooth pairing may fail depending on the device type and the surrounding environment.

The product does not operate normally.

Battery discharge may cause Bluetooth information to be deleted. If power is lost, previous settings may not be saved.

Use the product in a place where temperature and humidity are not too high or low.

If a problem occurs while charging, the power LED may alternate between red and orange and charging will stop. Unplug the power from the outlet and try again.

If the above solutions do not work:

Use a sharp object such as a pin to press the RESET button on the back of the product.

Place the product at a safe distance from a child’s reach to prevent it from falling.

Be careful that the speaker does not fall down, as this could cause malfunction or injury.

Avoid exposing the product to sunlight for a long time to prevent discolouration.

When using outdoors, the handle may become hot after sun exposure.

Be careful not to press the woofer, as this may damage the speaker.

Cleaning the product:

To clean the product, use a soft, dry cloth.

If the surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution.

Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine, or thinner, as these might damage the surface of the product.

Do not use volatile liquids such as insecticide spray near the product.

Wiping with strong pressure may damage the surface.

Do not leave rubber or plastic products in contact with the product for a long period of time.

Please save the original shipping carton and packing materials. If you need to ship the product, for maximum protection, re-pack the product as it was originally packed at the factory.
