Here are some tips that will help you minimize power consumption when you use the LG AK-W150LCB0 air conditioner:

• Do not cool excessively indoors. This may be harmful for your health and may consume more electricity.

• Block sunlight with blinds or curtains while you are operating the air conditioner.

• Keep doors or windows closed tightly while you are operating the air conditioner.

• Adjust the direction of the air flow vertically or horizontally to circulate indoor air.

• Speed up the fan to cool or warm indoor air quickly, in a short period of time.

• Open windows regularly for ventilation as the indoor air quality may deteriorate if the air conditioner is used for many hours.

• Clean the air filter once every 2 weeks. Dust and impurities collected in the air filter may block the air flow or weaken the cooling / dehumidifying functions.

Please follow these safety guidelines during installation to prevent unforeseen risks or damage.

• Always ground the product. There is risk of fire or electric shock.

• Install the panel and the cover of control box securely. There is risk of fire or electric shock.

• Always install a dedicated circuit and circuit breaker. Improper wiring or installation may cause fire or electric shock.

• Use the correctly rated circuit breaker or fuse. There is risk of fire or electric shock.

• Use the specified wires to connect the unit. There is risk of fire or electric shock.

• Do not install, remove, or re-install the unit by yourself (customer). There is risk of fire, electric shock, explosion or injury.

• Be cautious when unpacking and installing the product. Sharp edges could cause injury. Be especially careful of the case edges and the fins on the condenser and evaporator.

• Do not install the product on a defective installation stand. It may cause injury, accident or damage to the product.

• Be sure the installation area does not deteriorate with age. If the base collapses, the air conditioner could fall with it, causing property damage, product failure and personal injury.

CAUTION

• Always check for gas (refrigerant) pressure after installation or repair of product. Low refrigerant levels may cause failure of product.

• Install the drain hose to ensure that water is drained away properly. A bad connection may cause water leakage.

• Keep level even when installing the product to avoid vibration or water leakage.

• Do not install the product where the noise or hot air from the outdoor unit could damage the neighborhoods.

• Do not install the product where it will be exposed to sea wind (salt spray) directly. It may cause corrosion on the product.

• Do not install the unit in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Please follow these safety guidelines during operation to prevent unforeseen risks or damage.

• Take care to ensure that power cable could not be pulled out or damaged during operation.

• Do not place anything on the power cable.

• Do not touch (operate) the product with wet hands.

• Do not place a heater or other appliances near the power cable.

• Do not allow water to run into electric parts.

• Do not store or use flammable gas or combustibles near the product.

• Do not use the product in a tightly closed space for a long time as oxygen deficiency could occur.

• When flammable gas leaks, turn off the gas and open a window for ventilation before turning the product on.

• If you notice strange sounds, smells, or smoke, turn the circuit breaker off or disconnect the power supply cable.

• Stop operation and close the window in a storm or hurricane.

• Do not open the panel of the product during operation.

• If the product is soaked (flooded or submerged), contact an Authorized Service Center.

• Ventilate the product from time to time when operating it together with a stove, etc.

• Turn the main power off when cleaning or maintaining the product.

• When the product is not to be used for a long time, turn off the circuit breaker.

CAUTION

• Take care to ensure that nobody could step on or fall onto the unit.

• Do not expose the skin directly to cool air for long periods of time. (Don’t sit in the draft.)

• Do not use the product for special purposes, such as preserving foods or works of art.

• Do not block the inlet or outlet of air flow.

• Use a soft cloth to clean. Do not use harsh detergents, solvents, etc.

• Do not touch the metal parts of the product when removing the air filter as they are very sharp.

• Do not step on or put anything on the outdoor units.

• Always insert the filter securely. Clean the filter every four weeks or more often if necessary.

• Do not insert hands or other objects through the air inlet or outlet while the product is operated.

• Do not drink the water drained from the product as it is not sanitary.

• Use a firm stool or ladder when cleaning or maintaining the product.

2. Use a dedicated circuit breaker.

1. Being exposed to direct airflow for an extended period of time could be hazardous to your health. Do not expose occupants, pets, or plants to direct airflow for extended periods of time.

2. Due to the possibility of oxygen deficiency, ventilate the room when used together with stoves or other heating devices.

3. Do not use this air conditioner for non-specified special purposes (e.g. preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, and art objects). Such usage could damage the items.

1. Do not touch the metal parts of the unit when removing the filter. Injuries can occur when handling sharp metal edges.

2. Do not use water to clean inside the air conditioner. Exposure to water can destroy the insulation, leading to possible electric shock.

3. When cleaning the unit, first make sure that the power and breaker are turned off. The fan rotates at a very high speed during operation. There is a possibility of injury if the unit’s power is accidentally triggered on while cleaning inner parts of the unit.

In the main screen of the remote controller, press the left/right buttons [<,>] to select the operation mode category, then press the up/down buttons [∧,∨] to set the desired operation mode.

Note: Some products may not support all operation modes.

To use the Cooling Operation, set the desired temperature lower than the current indoor temperature. The minimum setting temperature is 18°C (64°F). If the setpoint is higher than the room temperature, the unit will not begin to cool.

The common setting temperature range for Cool mode is 18°C to 30°C (64°F to 86°F).

The unit has a 3-minute delay function to protect the compressor. After cooling stops, if the product is started right away, the compressor will wait 3 minutes before starting, after which cold air will come out.

Dry operation removes moisture from the air. The initial fan speed is set to “Low”, and this mode does not have a separate desired temperature setting. It provides effective dehumidification and cooling at the same time, which is useful during the rainy season or when humidity is high. Pressing the On/Off button will shut off the operation.

Fan Only operation circulates indoor air without temperature control (no cooling or heating). The initial wind strength is “High”, and there is no separate desired temperature setting. Pressing the On/Off button will stop the operation.

To use the Heating Operation, set the desired temperature higher than the current indoor temperature. The minimum setting temperature is 16°C. You can select a desired temperature in the range of 16°C to 30°C. If the desired temperature is set lower than the indoor temperature, warm air will not come out. Pressing the On/Off button will shut off the heating operation.

Note: The heating function is not available on cooling-exclusive models.

In the main screen of the remote, press the left/right buttons [<,>] to select the desired temperature category, and then press the up/down buttons [∧,∨] to set the temperature. This is possible in Cooling, Heating, and Auto modes.

You can check the current indoor temperature on the main screen of the remote controller. It is displayed as the larger number in the center of the screen, typically with a house icon above it. The smaller number below it indicates the setpoint temperature.

Please note that due to the location of the temperature sensor, the displayed value may differ slightly from the actual room temperature you feel.

The lock function prevents others, like children, from changing the air conditioner settings.

How to enter lock setting:

1. In the menu screen, press the left/right buttons [<,>] to select the “lock setting” category.

2. Press the [OK] button to move to the lock setting list screen.

3. In the lock setting list, press the up/down buttons [∧,∨] to select a lock function and press [OK] to turn it on/off.

Lock Setting Options:

1. In the menu screen, press the left/right buttons [<,>] to select the setting category (gear icon).

2. Press the [OK] button to move to the setting list.

3. In the setting list, select the “Function” category using the navigation buttons.

4. Press the [OK] button to move to the function setting list.

When it is time to clean the indoor unit filter, a message will appear. You can check the filter status and reset the reminder as follows:

1. Go to the function setting list.

2. Select the “Filter Sign” check and initialization category and press [OK] to display the detail screen.

3. On this screen, you can view the filter usage time and the time left until the next cleaning.

4. After cleaning the filter, press the “Reset” button on this screen to initialize the timer.

The filter sign indicates the following usage levels:

Smart Load Control (SLC) is a function that calculates the indoor air temperature, outdoor air temperature, and humidity to operate the unit effectively. To change the SLC stage value:

1. In the function setting list, select the “Smart Load Control” category and press [OK] to move to the detail screen.

2. Use the up/down buttons [∧,∨] to select the desired setting (Off or a specific Step) and press [OK] to confirm.

The available options are:

Note: SLC can only be set when the installer setting’s outdoor unit function M/S setting is set to “Master”. The function and all steps may not be available on all products.

Follow these stages to add a schedule:

Stage 1. Period setting: Set the start and end date for the period the timer will be active.

Stage 2. Day of week setting: Set the day of the week for the timer to perform. You can select ‘Everyday / Weekend / Weekdays / Individual selection’.

Stage 3. Time setting: Set the start time for the timer.

Stage 4. Operation setting: Set the timer operation information, including Operation (On/Off), Mode, Temperature, and Fan Speed. If ‘Stop’ is selected, you cannot set the other parameters.

When stages 1-4 are completed, a message ‘schedule is added’ will appear, and it will move to the View and edit schedule screen.

Before performing any maintenance, turn off the main power to the system. Before removing access panels, disconnect the power supply to avoid severe injury or death.

The LG AK-W150LCB0 has washable filters. It is very important to keep air filters clean.

• Inspect them at least once each month when the system is in constant operation. In new buildings, check the filters every week for the first 4 weeks.

• Washable type filters can be cleaned by washing with a mild detergent and water.

• Ensure that the filters are thoroughly dried before reinstalling them in the unit.

• Unfiltered air can cause the unit’s condenser coil to become clogged. To clean the coil, vertically stroke the coil surface (along the fins) with a soft bristled brush.

• Keep all vegetation away from the condenser coil area.

To keep your unit operating safely and efficiently, a qualified serviceman should check the entire system at least once each year. The serviceman may examine these areas:

1. Filters (for cleaning)

2. Motors and drive system components

3. Condenser coils (for cleaning)

4. Safety controls (for mechanical cleaning)

5. Electrical components and wiring (for possible replacement or connection tightness)

6. Condensate drain (for cleaning)

7. Inspect the unit duct connections to ensure they are physically sound and sealed to the unit casing.

8. Inspect the unit mounting support to see that it is sound.

9. Inspect the unit to ensure there is no obvious deterioration.

1. Operate the air conditioner on air circulation mode (Fan Only) for 2 to 3 hours. This will dry out the internal parts.

2. Turn off the circuit breaker. Dirt may collect and may cause a fire if left on.

1. Clean the air filter and re-install it in the indoor side.

2. Check that the air inlet and outlet of the indoor/outdoor unit are not blocked.

• Do not overcool the room. This is not good for your health and wastes electricity.

• Keep blinds or curtains closed. Do not let direct sunshine enter the room when the air conditioner is in operation.

• Clean the air filter regularly. Blockages in the air filter reduce the airflow and lower cooling and dehumidifying effects.

• Make sure that the doors and windows are shut tight. Avoid opening doors and windows as much as possible to keep the cool air in the room.

• Ventilate the room occasionally. Since windows are kept closed, it is a good idea to open them and ventilate the room now and then.

Check the following points:

• Have you made a mistake in timer operation? See reservation instructions.

• Has the fuse blown or has the circuit breaker been tripped?

• Does the remote controller display “CH” on the LCD? This means that a protective device has been tripped. Please contact your dealer or service center.

Check that this is not a damp smell exuded by the walls, carpet, furniture, or cloth items in the room.

Condensation occurs when the airflow from the air conditioner cools the warm air in the room. This is a normal part of the cooling process.

This is a normal function of the protection device of the air conditioner. This delay protects the compressor. Wait about three minutes and operation will begin.

Check the following points:

• Is the air filter dirty? See air filter cleaning instructions.

• The room may have been very hot when the air conditioner was first turned on. Allow time for it to cool down.

• Has the setting temperature been set incorrectly? See temperature setting instructions.

• Are the unit’s air inlet or outlet vents obstructed?

Check if the circuit breaker has been tripped. If it has, reset it. If the problem persists, please contact your dealer or service center.

The unit has an Outage Compensation Function. It automatically retrieves the previous operating conditions when power is restored. You don’t need to press any buttons. (Note: Additional functions will not be retrieved automatically.)
