You should always comply with the following precautions to avoid dangerous situations and ensure peak performance of your LG 55LM6400 TV:

Installation and Environment:

• Do not use this apparatus near water.

• Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

• Do not install this product near flammable objects such as gasoline or candles, or expose the TV to direct air conditioning.

• Do not install in excessively dusty places.

Power and Electrical Safety:

• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

• Never touch this apparatus or antenna during a thunder or lightning storm.

• To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, do not expose this product to rain or moisture.

• Do not touch the TV with wet hands.

• Do not stick metal objects or any other conductive material into the power cord. Do not touch the end of the power cord while it is plugged in.

• Ensure you connect the earth ground wire to prevent possible electric shock (for TVs with a three-prong grounded AC plug).

• The Mains plug is the disconnecting device and must remain readily operable.

Usage and Handling:

• Clean only with a dry cloth.

• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

• When using a cart, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

• Do not allow an impact shock or any objects to fall into the product, and do not drop anything onto the screen.

• Keep the packing anti-moisture material or vinyl packing out of the reach of children as it can be harmful if swallowed or cause suffocation.

• Do not press strongly upon the panel with your hand or a sharp object such as a nail, pencil or pen, or make a scratch on it.

Servicing:

• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as a damaged power-supply cord or plug, liquid has been spilled, objects have fallen into it, it has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

• Do not attempt to modify this product in any way without written authorization from LG Electronics.

To prevent “image burn” or “burn-in” on your LG 55LM6400 TV, follow these guidelines:

• If a fixed image is displayed on the screen for a long period of time, it can become imprinted and lead to a permanent disfigurement. This is known as “image burn” or “burn-in” and is not covered by the warranty.

• Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for a long period of time (2 or more hours for LCD TVs).

• If the aspect ratio of the TV is set to 4:3 for an extended period, image burn may occur on the letterboxed area of the screen.

Viewing Environment:

• Viewing Time: When watching 3D content, take a 5 to 15-minute break every hour. Watching for a long period may cause headaches, dizziness, fatigue, or eye strain.

• Viewing Distance: Maintain a distance of at least twice the screen diagonal length when watching 3D content. If you feel discomfort, move further away from the TV.

Viewing Age:

• Infants/Children: Viewing 3D content for children under the age of 5 is prohibited. Children under 10 may overreact and require special monitoring. Children perceive more stereoscopic depth than adults.

• Teenagers: Teenagers under 19 may be stimulated by light from 3D videos. Advise them not to watch 3D videos for a long time when they are tired.

• Elderly: The elderly may perceive less of a 3D effect. Do not sit closer to the TV than the recommended distance.

Health Considerations:

• Some users may experience a seizure or other abnormal symptoms when exposed to flashing lights or patterns from 3D content.

• Do not watch 3D videos if you feel nausea, are pregnant, or have a chronic illness such as epilepsy, cardiac disorder, or blood pressure disease.

• 3D content is not recommended for those with stereo blindness or stereo anomaly. Double images or discomfort may be experienced.

• If you have strabismus (cross-eyed), amblyopia (weak eyesight), or astigmatism, you may experience fatigue due to double images. It is advised to take frequent breaks.

• If your eyesight varies between your right and left eye, revise your eyesight before watching 3D content.

When to Stop Watching:

• Do not watch 3D content when you are tired from lack of sleep, overwork, or drinking.

• If you experience symptoms like headache, eyeball pain, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, blurriness, discomfort, double image, or visual inconvenience, stop watching 3D content and rest until the symptoms subside. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist.

• Make sure to use LG 3D glasses. Otherwise, you may not be able to view 3D videos properly.

• Do not use 3D glasses in place of your normal glasses, sunglasses, or protective goggles.

• Using modified 3D glasses may cause eye strain or image distortion.

• Do not keep your 3D glasses in extremely high or low temperatures, as it will cause deformation.

• The 3D glasses are fragile and can be easily scratched. Always use a soft, clean cloth to wipe the lenses. Do not scratch the lenses with sharp objects or clean them with chemicals.

1. Open the package and ensure all accessories are included.

2. Attach the stand to the TV set.

3. Connect any external devices to the TV set.

4. Make sure a network connection is available if you plan to use the TV’s network functions.

When you unpack your LG 55LM6400 TV, check your product box for the following items. If any accessories are missing, contact the local dealer where you purchased the product.

Note: For an optimal connection, HDMI cables and USB devices should have bezels less than 10 mm (0.39 inches) thick and 18 mm (0.7 inches) wide. Use a USB 2.0 extension cable if your USB cable or memory stick does not fit into the TV’s USB port.

• Always avoid touching the screen, as this may result in damage.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the original box or packing material.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• When transporting a large TV like the LG 55LM6400, there should be at least 2 people.

• When transporting by hand, hold the TV by the top and bottom of the frame. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• Keep the TV upright during transport. Do not turn the TV on its side or tilt it.

• Do not expose the TV to jolts or excessive vibration during transport.

Attaching the Stand:

1. Place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect it from scratches.

2. Align the Stand Body with the Stand Base and secure them together.

3. Attach the assembled stand to the TV using the provided screws (4 EA, M4 x 20).

4. Tighten the screws firmly to prevent the TV from tilting forward.

Placing on a Table:

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space between the TV and the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

Adjusting the Angle:

• You can swivel the TV 10±2 degrees to the left or right to adjust the viewing angle.

• Be careful not to pinch your fingers when adjusting the angle.

Securing the TV to a Table (Optional):

To prevent the TV from tilting or falling, you can secure it to the table.

1. Connect the Desk-mount Cables to the Stand Base using the Bracket Screws.

2. Fix the other end of the Desk-mount Cables to the table using the Desk-mount Screws.

3. Once fixed, move the table close to the wall.

LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer. Ensure you use a wall mount bracket that meets the VESA standard.

VESA Specifications for LG 55LM6400:

Installation Cautions:

• Disconnect the power first before moving or installing the TV.

• If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount.

• Do not over-tighten the screws, as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries from misuse or an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty.

1. Gather and bind the cables together with the provided cable holder.

2. Fix the cable management clip firmly to the back of the TV to keep the cables tidy.

Caution: Do not move the TV by holding the cable holder, as it may break and cause injury or damage to the TV.

Connect an antenna, cable, or cable box to the ANTENNA/CABLE input port on the back of your TV using a coaxial (75 Ω) cable. Make sure not to bend the copper wire of the RF cable. Complete all connections between devices before plugging the power cord into an outlet.

HDMI is the best way to connect a device as it transmits digital video and audio signals. Use a High Speed HDMI™ Cable.

1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port of your external device (e.g., Blu-Ray player, HD Cable Box).

2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to any of the available HDMI IN ports on your LG 55LM6400 TV.

Note on ARC (Audio Return Channel):

• If you have an ARC-compatible audio device, you can send digital audio to it without an additional optical audio cable.

• ARC is only supported on the HDMI IN 1 (ARC) port. Connect your ARC-compatible device to this specific port to use the feature.

You can connect your PC using one of the following methods. It is recommended to use the HDMI connection for the best image quality.

Method A: HDMI Connection

• Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI output on your PC to any HDMI IN port on the TV. It is recommended to use HDMI IN 4 for a DVI-to-HDMI connection.

Method B: DVI to HDMI Connection

1. Connect a DVI-to-HDMI cable from the DVI OUT port on your PC to the HDMI IN 4 (PC) port on the TV.

2. For audio, connect a separate audio cable from your PC’s AUDIO OUT to the (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port on the TV.

Method C: RGB Connection

1. Connect an RGB (VGA) cable from the RGB OUT (PC) port on your PC to the RGB IN (PC) port on the TV.

2. For audio, connect a separate audio cable from your PC’s AUDIO OUT to the (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port on the TV.

You can connect an external audio system, such as a soundbar or home theater system, using a digital optical audio cable.

1. Connect one end of the optical audio cable to the OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT port on your TV.

2. Connect the other end of the cable to the OPTICAL AUDIO IN port on your external audio device.

Note: If you use an optional external audio device, set the TV speaker feature to ‘Off’ in the TV’s settings. Do not look directly into the optical output port, as the laser beam may damage your vision.

Connect a USB storage device such as a USB flash memory, external hard drive, or USB memory card reader to one of the USB IN ports on the TV. This allows you to access the Smart Share menu to use various multimedia files.

• Port 1 (HDD IN): Suitable for external hard drives.

• Port 2 (USB Hub): Use this port if you are connecting a USB Hub.

• Port 3 (USB Apps): To store apps on a USB storage device, connect it to this port.

Note: Some USB Hubs may not work. If a device connected via a Hub is not detected, connect it directly to a USB port on the TV.

• (POWER): Turns the TV on or off.

• BACK: Returns to the previous level.

• HOME: Accesses the Home menu.

• Wheel (OK): Selects menus or options and confirms your input. Scrolls through saved channels.

• Navigation buttons (up/down/left/right): Scrolls through menus or options.

• Pointer (RF & Bluetooth transmitter): A pointer appears on the screen, which you can move by aiming and moving the remote. Blinks when operating.

• + VOL -: Adjusts the volume level.

• ^ CH v: Scrolls through the saved channels.

• (MUTE): Mutes all sounds.

• 3D: Used for viewing 3D video.

• MY APPS: Shows the list of Apps.

• Q.MENU: Accesses the quick menu.

To make the pointer reappear after it vanishes, shake the remote from side to side.

How to register:

To register the remote control for the first time, press the Wheel (OK) button while pointing the remote at the TV.

How to re-register after a registration failure:

1. Press and hold the BACK and HOME buttons together for 5 seconds to reset the remote. The light on the Pointer will blink when the reset is complete.

2. After resetting, register it again by pressing the Wheel (OK) button.

Alternatively, to re-register, you can press and hold the BACK button for 5 seconds while pointing it toward the TV.

When you turn the TV on for the first time, the Initial Setting screen appears.

1. Connect the power cord to a power outlet.

2. In Standby mode, press the power button on the remote control to turn the TV on.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to customize your TV settings:

• Language Selection: Select a language for the on-screen display.

• Using the Magic remote control: Sets up the Magic remote.

• Environment Selection: Select ‘Home’ for the home environment. ‘Store’ mode is for retail demonstration.

• Time Zone Setting: Select your time zone and daylight saving options.

• Network Connection: Set up your network to enable network-related features.

• Auto Tuning: Scans and saves available channels automatically.

• Auto Energy Saving mode Setting: Selects the Auto Energy Saving mode.

• 3D-On-Start Setting: Selects the 3D-On-Start option.

4. When the basic settings are complete, press the Wheel (OK) button.

Problem: Cannot control the TV with the remote control.

Solution:

• Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.

• Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed (+ to +, – to -).

Problem: No image display and no sound is produced.

Solution:

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products.

Problem: The TV turns off suddenly.

Solution:

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may be interrupted.

• Check if the Auto sleep feature is activated in the Time settings.

• If there is no signal while the TV is on, the TV will turn off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Clean your TV regularly to keep it at its best performance and to extend its lifespan.

Before you start:

• Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand:

• For dust or light dirt: Wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• For major dirt: Wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

Cleaning Cautions:

• Do not push, rub, or hit the surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

• Do not use any chemicals, such as waxes, benzene, alcohol, thinners, insecticides, air fresheners, or lubricants, as these may damage the screen’s finish and cause discoloration.

• Do not spray liquid directly onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

Power cord:

• Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

The Issue:

• Flat panel displays are not always supported on proper stands or installed according to manufacturer recommendations.

• Displays inappropriately placed on dressers, bookcases, shelves, desks, or carts may fall over and cause injury.

Tune Into Safety:

• Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for the safe installation and use of your flat panel display.

• Carefully read and understand all enclosed instructions for proper use.

• Don’t allow children to climb on or play with furniture and television sets.

• Don’t place flat panel displays on furniture that can easily be used as steps, such as a chest of drawers.

• Place or install the display where it cannot be pushed, pulled over, or knocked down.

• Route all cords and cables so they cannot be pulled or grabbed by curious children.

Wall Mounting:

• Use a mount recommended by the display manufacturer and/or listed by an independent laboratory (such as UL, CSA, ETL).

• Follow all instructions supplied by the display and wall mount manufacturers.

• If you have doubts about your ability to safely install the display, contact your retailer about professional installation.

• Ensure the wall where you are mounting is appropriate. Some walls are not designed for mounts with steel studs or cinder block construction. If unsure, contact a professional installer.

• A minimum of two people are required for installation as flat panel displays can be heavy.
