Installation & Environment:

• Do not use this apparatus near water.

Power & Connections:

• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched.

• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug.

• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.

• Never touch the apparatus or antenna during a thunder or lightning storm.

• Do not connect too many appliances to the same AC power outlet, as this could result in fire or electric shock.

• The mains plug is the disconnecting device and must remain readily operable.

• For devices that require grounding, ensure you connect the earth ground wire to prevent possible electric shock. Do not try to ground the unit by connecting it to telephone wires, lightning rods, or gas pipes.

Usage & Handling:

• Clean only with a dry cloth.

• Do not expose the product to dripping or splashing and do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on or over the apparatus.

• Do not allow an impact shock or any objects to fall into the product, and do not drop anything onto the screen.

• Do not press strongly upon the panel with your hand or a sharp object such as a nail, pencil, or pen, or make a scratch on it.

• Keep packing anti-moisture material or vinyl packing out of the reach of children.

• If you smell smoke or other odors, unplug the power cord and contact an authorized service center.

• Servicing is required if the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as a damaged power cord or plug, liquid has been spilled, it has been exposed to rain or moisture, it does not operate normally, or it has been dropped. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

If a fixed image is displayed on the TV screen for a long period, it can become imprinted and result in a permanent disfigurement known as “image burn” or “burn-in”. This is not covered by the warranty. To prevent this:

• Avoid displaying a fixed image on the screen for a long period of time (2 or more hours for LCD).

• If the aspect ratio of the TV is set to 4:3 for a long time, image burn may occur on the letterboxed area of the screen.

Viewing Environment:

• Viewing Time: When watching 3D content, take a 5-15 minute break every hour. Watching for a long period may cause headache, dizziness, fatigue, or eye strain.

• Viewing Distance: Maintain a distance of at least twice the screen diagonal length when watching 3D content. If you feel discomfort, move further away from the TV.

Viewing Age:

• Infants/Children: Viewing 3D content is prohibited for children under the age of 5. Children under 10 may overreact and require special monitoring.

• Teenagers: Teenagers under 19 may be sensitive to light from 3D videos. Advise them not to watch 3D videos for a long time when tired.

• Elderly: The elderly may perceive less of a 3D effect. Do not sit closer to the TV than the recommended distance.

Health Considerations:

• Some users may experience a seizure or other abnormal symptoms when exposed to flashing lights or patterns from 3D content.

• Do not watch 3D videos if you feel nausea, are pregnant, or have a chronic illness such as epilepsy, cardiac disorder, or blood pressure disease.

• 3D content is not recommended for those who suffer from stereo blindness, stereo anomaly, strabismus (cross-eyed), amblyopia (weak eyesight), or astigmatism.

• If your eyesight varies between your right and left eye, revise your eyesight prior to watching 3D content.

Symptoms Requiring Discontinuation:

• Do not watch 3D content when you feel fatigued from lack of sleep, overwork, or drinking.

• If you experience symptoms like headache, eyeball pain, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, blurriness, discomfort, double image, or visual inconvenience, stop watching 3D content and rest until the symptom subsides. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.

• Make sure to use LG 3D glasses. Otherwise, you may not be able to view 3D videos properly.

• Do not use 3D glasses in place of your normal glasses, sunglasses, or protective goggles.

• Using modified 3D glasses may cause eye strain or image distortion.

• Do not keep your 3D glasses in extremely high or low temperatures, as this will cause deformation.

• The 3D glasses are fragile and easy to scratch. Always use a soft, clean cloth when wiping the lenses. Do not scratch the lenses with sharp objects or clean them with chemicals.

1. Open the package and make sure all the accessories are included.

2. Attach the stand to the TV set.

3. Connect an external device to the TV set.

4. Make sure the network connection is available. You can use the TV network functions only when the network connection is made.

Follow these steps to attach the stand:

1. When attaching the stand, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

2. Assemble the Stand Body and Stand Base.

3. Attach the assembled stand to the TV using the provided screws (M4 x 20).

4. Tighten the screws firmly to prevent the TV from tilting forward.

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (4 inches) minimum space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. To prevent the TV from falling over, it should be securely attached to the floor/wall per installation instructions. Tipping, shaking, or rocking the TV may cause injury.

You can swivel the TV 10±2 degrees to the left or right to adjust the angle to suit your view.

LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer. Use a wall mount bracket that meets the VESA standard.

VESA Mounting Specifications:

CAUTION:

• Disconnect the power first, and then move or install the TV.

• If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount.

• Do not over-tighten the screws as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty.

1. Gather and bind the cables with the provided cable holder.

2. Fix the cable management clip firmly to the TV to keep cables organized.

CAUTION: Do not move the TV by holding the cable holder, as it may break and cause injury or damage to the TV.

Connect an antenna, cable, or cable box to watch TV by connecting the coaxial (75Ω) RF cable to the ANTENNA/CABLE IN port on the back of the TV. Make sure not to bend the copper wire of the RF cable.

Complete all connections between devices before connecting the power cord to the wall outlet to prevent damage to your TV.

HDMI is the best way to connect a device as it transmits digital video and audio signals. Connect the external device (e.g., Blu-Ray player, HD Cable Box) to any of the HDMI IN ports on the TV using an HDMI cable.

NOTE:

• Use a High Speed HDMI™ Cable with CEC (Customer Electronics Control) function for best results.

• The HDMI IN 1 (ARC) port supports Audio Return Channel (ARC). When connected with a high-speed HDMI cable, digital audio can be sent to a compatible audio device without an additional optical audio cable. An external audio device that supports ARC should be connected to this port if you wish to use ARC.

To connect a device with a DVI output, you will need a DVI-to-HDMI cable for the video signal and a separate audio cable for the sound.

1. Connect the DVI-to-HDMI cable from the DVI OUT port on your external device to the HDMI IN 4 (PC) port on the TV.

2. Connect a separate audio cable from the AUDIO OUT port on your external device to the (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port on the TV.

Component connection transmits analog video and audio signals. Use the provided component video cable (Green, Blue, Red) and a standard audio cable (White, Red).

1. Connect the green cable to the Y port, blue to the PB port, and red to the PR port on both the TV’s COMPONENT IN section and the device’s Component out section.

2. Connect the white (L) and red (R) audio cables to the corresponding audio ports.

Check to ensure each cable is matched with the corresponding color connection. If cables are installed incorrectly, it could cause the image to display in black and white or with distorted color.

Composite connection transmits standard definition analog video and audio signals. Use the provided composite video cable (Yellow) and a standard audio cable (White, Red).

1. Connect the yellow cable to the VIDEO port on both the TV’s AV IN section and the device’s video out section.

2. Connect the white (L) and red (R) audio cables to the corresponding audio ports.

Check to ensure each cable is matched with the corresponding color connection.

You can connect your PC using one of three methods. The HDMI connection is recommended for the best image quality.

Method A: HDMI Connection

Connect an HDMI cable from your PC’s HDMI output to any HDMI IN port on the TV. It is recommended to use HDMI IN 4 for a PC connection.

Method B: DVI to HDMI Connection

1. Connect a DVI-to-HDMI cable from your PC’s DVI output to the HDMI IN 4 (PC) port on the TV.

2. Connect an audio cable from your PC’s audio output to the (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port on the TV.

Method C: RGB (VGA) Connection

1. Connect an RGB (VGA) cable from your PC’s RGB output to the RGB IN (PC) port on the TV.

2. Connect an audio cable from your PC’s audio output to the (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port on the TV.

Note: In PC mode, there may be noise associated with resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate, or adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear.

You can connect an external audio system, such as a soundbar or home theater system, using a digital optical audio cable.

1. Connect the optical audio cable from the OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT port on the TV to the optical audio input on your external audio device.

2. In the TV’s settings menu, set the TV speaker feature to “Off”.

NOTE: Do not look into the optical output port, as looking at the laser beam may damage your vision.

Connect a USB storage device such as a USB flash memory, external hard drive, or a USB memory card reader to one of the USB IN ports on the TV. You can then access the Smart Share menu to use various multimedia files.

• USB IN 1 (HDD IN): For connecting external hard drives.

• USB IN 2 (USB Hub): For connecting a USB Hub device.

• USB IN 3 (USB Apps): To store apps on a USB storage device, make sure it is connected to this port.

If a USB device connected via a USB Hub is not detected, connect it directly to a USB port on the TV. Some USB Hubs may not work.

The Magic Remote Control operates by pointing it at the TV and moving a cursor on the screen.

Registration:

To register the remote control for the first time, press the Wheel (OK) button while pointing it at the TV.

Re-registration:

If registration fails or you need to reset it, press and hold the BACK and HOME buttons together for 5 seconds. The light on the Pointer will blink when the reset is complete. Then, press the Wheel (OK) button to re-register.

Basic Functions:

• Pointer: Move the remote to move the on-screen pointer. If the pointer disappears, shake the remote slightly from side to side to make it reappear.

• Wheel (OK): Press to select menus or options. Scroll the wheel to move through saved channels.

• Navigation Buttons (up/down/left/right): Scrolls through menus or options. Pressing a navigation button while the pointer is active will make the pointer disappear, and the remote will function like a standard remote.

• HOME: Accesses the Home menu.

• BACK: Returns to the previous screen.

• VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume level.

• CH ^/v: Scrolls through saved channels.

• 3D: Used for viewing 3D video.

• MY APPS: Shows the list of Apps.

• Q.MENU: Accesses the quick menu.

When you turn the TV on for the first time, the Initial Setting screen appears.

1. Connect the power cord to a power outlet.

2. In Standby mode, press the power button on the remote control to turn the TV on.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to customize your TV settings:

• Language Selection: Select a language for the on-screen display.

• Using the Magic remote control: Instructions on setting up the remote.

• Environment Selection: Select “Home” for the home environment. The “Store” mode is for retail demos.

• Time Zone Setting: Select your time zone.

• Network Connection: Set up your network to enable network-related features.

• Auto Tuning: Scans and saves available channels automatically.

• Auto Energy Saving mode Setting: Selects the energy-saving mode.

• 3D-On-Start Setting (For 3D TV): Selects the 3D-On-Start option.

• Setting is completed: Confirms the setting options.

4. When the basic settings are complete, press the Wheel (OK) button.

The User Guide allows you to access detailed TV information directly on the screen.

1. Press the HOME button on your remote to access the HOME menu.

2. Select User Guide and press the Wheel (OK) button.

Within the User Guide:

• You can select a category and an item to view its description.

• Use the scroll wheel or up/down buttons to move between pages of a description.

• Select Try Now to move directly to the menu screen for the function you are reading about.

• Use the Zoom In / Zoom Out feature to get a closer look at the screen.

• Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.

• Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed (+ to +, – to -).

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products to it.

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may be interrupted.

• Check if the Auto sleep feature is activated in the Time settings.

• If there is no signal while the TV is on, it will turn off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Clean your TV regularly to keep it in the best condition and extend its lifespan.

First Steps:

• Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first.

Screen, Frame, Cabinet, and Stand:

• For dust or light dirt: Wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• For major dirt: Wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

CAUTION:

• Do not push, rub, or hit the surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

• Do not use any chemicals such as waxes, benzene, alcohol, thinners, insecticides, air fresheners, or lubricants, as these may damage the screen’s finish and cause discoloration.

• Do not spray liquid directly onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

Power Cord:

• Remove any accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

The method for 3D digital broadcast may differ depending on the signal environment. If video is not switched automatically into 3D, manually convert the settings to view 3D images.
