To attach the stand to your LG 55LB620V-ZE, please follow these instructions. Note that the image shown in the manual may differ from your specific TV model.

There are two types of stands depending on your model series:

For models LB55**, LB56**-ZE / ZC, LB62**-ZA / ZB:

1. Place the ‘A Stand Base’ onto the ‘B Stand Base’.

2. Using the provided screws (4EA, M4 x L14 for most models or M4 x L20 for 32″ models), attach the combined stand to the bottom of the TV set.

For models LB56**-ZT / ZQ, LB62**-ZE:

1. Attach the ‘A Stand Base’ to the ‘B Stand Base’.

2. Secure the stand to the TV using the provided screws (4EA, M4 x L14 for most models or M4 x L20 for 32″ models).

CAUTION: When attaching the stand to the TV set, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

Connect your LG 55LB620V-ZE to a wall antenna socket using an RF cable (75 Ω).

Please note the following:

• Use a signal splitter if you need to connect more than 2 TVs.

• If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier properly to improve the image quality.

• If the image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try to realign the antenna in the correct direction.

• An antenna cable and converter are not supplied.

• Supported DTV Audio formats are: MPEG, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, HE-AAC.

To connect a satellite dish to your LG 55LB620V-ZE (for satellite models only), connect the TV to a satellite dish to a satellite socket with a satellite RF cable (75 Ω). The connection port on the TV is labeled “LNB Satellite IN”.

The Euro Scart connection on your LG 55LB620V-ZE transmits video and audio signals from an external device to the TV set. The AV1 (TV Out) port functions differently depending on the current input mode:

Note:

• Any Euro scart cable used must be signal shielded.

• When watching digital TV in 3D imaging mode, only 2D out signals can be output through the SCART cable. (Only 3D models)

Your LG 55LB620V-ZE is equipped with various ports to connect external devices. For the best picture and audio quality, it is recommended to connect external devices and the TV with an HDMI cable.

Rear Panel Connections:

• HDMI IN 1: For connecting devices like DVD/Blu-Ray players, HD Cable Boxes, HD STB, or PCs.

• AV IN / COMPONENT IN: For connecting devices like DVD/Blu-Ray players or VCRs using composite or component cables.

• LAN: For a wired network connection (Only on LAN PORT models).

• OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT: For connecting to a Digital Audio System.

• ANTENNA / CABLE IN: For connecting a wall antenna socket.

• LNB Satellite IN: For connecting a satellite dish (Only on Satellite models).

Side Panel Connections:

• HDMI IN 2 (MHL): An additional HDMI port, which may also support MHL for connecting mobile phones.

• USB IN: For connecting USB storage devices or a USB HDD.

• PCMCIA CARD SLOT: For inserting a PCMCIA card.

• H/P OUT: For connecting headphones.

Please refer to the external equipment’s manual for specific operating instructions. If you connect a gaming device, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

When using your LG 55LB620V-ZE in PC mode, there may be noise associated with the resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, try the following steps:

• Change the PC output to another resolution.

• Change the refresh rate to another rate.

• Adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear.

Be aware that in PC mode, some resolution settings may not work properly depending on the graphics card.

You can operate the TV functions by pressing or moving the joystick button located below the TV screen.

Basic Functions:

Note: When you move the joystick up, down, left, or right, be careful not to press it. If you press the joystick button first, you cannot adjust the volume level and saved programmes.

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is turned on, press the joystick button one time. You can adjust the Menu items by moving the joystick button up, down, left, or right.

To prevent your LG 55LB620V-ZE from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation, please follow this advice:

• CAUTION: Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage to the screen.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Make sure not to hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

• When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright when transporting it; never turn the TV on its side or tilt it towards the left or right.

• Do not apply excessive pressure to cause flexing/bending of the frame chassis as it may damage the screen.

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

To secure your TV to a wall (this feature is not available for all models):

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts, on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

CAUTION: Make sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

Note:

• Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely.

• Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

To mount your LG 55LB620V-ZE, attach an optional wall mount bracket to the rear of the TV and install it on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer.

Important Cautions:

• Disconnect the power first, and then move or install the TV. Otherwise, an electric shock may occur.

• If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact your local dealer or qualified personnel.

• Do not over-tighten the screws, as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty.

Wall Mounting Bracket Specifications:

Make sure to use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard. The wall mount kit is sold separately and includes an installation manual and necessary parts.

The descriptions for the remote control of your LG 55LB620V-ZE (LB62** model) are as follows:

• POWER: Turns the TV on or off.

• TV/RAD: Selects Radio, TV and DTV programme.

• SUBTITLE: Recalls your preferred subtitle in digital mode.

• GUIDE: Shows programme guide.

• AV MODE: Selects an AV mode.

• INPUT: Changes the input source.

• Number buttons: Enters numbers.

• LIST: Accesses the saved programme list.

• Q.VIEW: Returns to the previously viewed programme.

• +/- buttons: Adjusts the volume level.

• FAV: Accesses your favourite programme list.

• 3D: Used for viewing 3D video.

• MUTE: Mutes all sounds.

• P (up/down) buttons: Scrolls through the saved programmes.

• PAGE (up/down) buttons: Moves to the previous or next screen.

• Teletext buttons (TEXT / T.OPT): These buttons are used for teletext.

• INFO: Views the information of the current programme and screen.

• SETTINGS: Accesses the main menus.

• Q.MENU: Accesses the Quick menus.

• Navigation buttons (up/down/left/right): Scrolls through menus or options.

• OK: Selects menus or options and confirms your input.

• BACK: Returns to the previous level.

• EXIT: Clears on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.

• AD: By pressing the AD button, audio descriptions function will be enabled.

• REC: Starts to record and displays record menu (Only Time MachineReady supported model).

• Control buttons (Play, Pause, etc.): Controls the MY MEDIA menus, Time MachineReady control or the SIMPLINK compatible devices (USB, SIMPLINK or Time MachineReady).

• Colour buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue): These access special functions in some menus.

To automatically tune the programmes on your LG 55LB620V-ZE, follow these steps:

1. Go to SETTINGS → SETUP → Auto Tuning.

2. The TV will automatically tune the programmes.

Please note:

• If the Input Source is not connected properly, programme registration may not work.

• Auto Tuning only finds programmes that are currently broadcasting.

• If the Lock System is turned on, a pop-up window will appear asking for a password.

You can select the picture mode optimized for your viewing environment or the programme by going to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode. The available modes on your LG 55LB620V-ZE are:

• Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness and sharpness to display vivid images.

• Standard: Displays images in standard levels of contrast, brightness and sharpness.

• Eco/APS: The Energy Saver feature changes settings on the TV to reduce power consumption.

• Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies or games.

• Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions by emphasizing primary colours such as white, grass, or sky blue.

• Expert 1, 2: A menu for adjusting picture quality that allows experts and amateurs to enjoy the best TV viewing. This is the adjustment menu provided for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals. (ISF logo can only be used on ISF-certified TVs.) ISFccc stands for Imaging Science Foundation Certified Calibration Control.

The available range of picture modes may differ depending on the input signal. The Expert mode is intended for picture tuning professionals, and its effects may not be dramatic for normal images.

To calibrate the screen for each picture mode or adjust picture settings, go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode → Advanced Control / Expert Control. First, select a Picture Mode, then adjust the following settings:

• Dynamic Contrast: Adjusts the contrast to the optimal level according to the image’s brightness.

• Dynamic Colour: Adjusts colours to make the image appear in more natural colours.

• Skin Colour: Sets the skin colour spectrum separately to implement the skin colour as defined by the user.

• Sky Colour: Sky colour is set separately.

• Grass Colour: Natural colour spectrum (meadows, hills, etc.) can be separately set.

• Gamma: Sets the gradation curve according to the output of the picture signal in relation to the input signal.

• Colour Gamut: Selects the range of colours that can be expressed.

• Edge Enhancer: Shows clearer and distinctive yet natural edges of the video.

• Expert Pattern: Patterns used for expert adjustment.

• Colour Filter: Filters a specific colour spectrum in RGB colours to fine-tune colour saturation and hue accurately.

• Colour Temperature: Adjusts the overall tone of the screen as desired. In Expert mode, detailed fine-tuning can be set via the Gamma method, etc.

• Colour Management System: A system used by experts to adjust colour with a test pattern, selecting from six colour areas (Red / Green / Blue / Cyan / Magenta / Yellow) without affecting other colours. For normal images, adjustments may not result in noticeable colour changes.

The range of detailed items for adjustment may differ depending on the input signal or other picture settings.

You can adjust detailed settings for images by navigating to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode → Picture Option. The available options include:

• Noise Reduction: Eliminates noise in the picture.

• MPEG Noise Reduction: Eliminates noise generated while creating digital picture signals.

• Black Level: Adjusts the brightness and contrast of the screen to suit the black level of the input picture by using the blackness (black level) of the screen.

• Real Cinema: Optimizes the screen for movie viewing.

• Motion Eye Care/SUPER Energy Saving: Saves power consumption by adjusting the brightness corresponding to the movement of the image on the screen.

The range of detailed items for adjustment may differ depending on the input signal or other picture settings.

The TruMotion feature corrects images to display smoother motion sequences. To access it, go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → TruMotion. The settings are:

• Smooth: De-judder/De-blur working on a higher range in auto mode.

• Clear: De-judder/De-blur working on a middle range in auto mode.

• User: De-judder / De-blur can be set manually.

– De-judder: This function adjusts juddering of the screen.

– De-blur: This function adjusts and eliminates blurring of the screen.

“Auto” means the Juddering and blurring range, which depends on the input video status, is controlled by TruMotion mode.

The Energy Saving feature reduces power consumption by adjusting screen brightness. You can find it under SETTINGS → PICTURE → Energy Saving. The options are:

• Auto: The TV sensor detects the ambient lighting and automatically adjusts the screen brightness.

• Off: Turns off the Energy Saving mode.

• Minimum / Medium / Maximum: Applies the pre-set Energy Saving mode.

• Screen Off: The screen is turned off and only sound is played. Press any button except the Power button on the remote control to turn the screen back on.

You can configure the audio output on your LG 55LB620V-ZE through the SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out menu.

• To use the TV speaker: Select TV Speaker. Sound will be output through the TV’s speakers.

• To use an External Speaker (Optical): Select External Speaker (Optical). Sound will be output through the speaker connected to the optical port. SimpLink is supported.

• To use a Headphone: Select Headphone. Sound will be output through the headphone connected to the earphone/headphone port.

• To use an LG audio device (Optical): Select LG Sound Sync (Optical). Connect an LG audio device to the optical digital audio output port to enjoy rich, powerful sound.

Digital Sound Out Settings:

When using an external speaker via optical, you can set up the digital sound out via SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → External Speaker (Optical) → Digital Sound Out.

If the video and audio are not synchronized, you can adjust it directly. Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → AV Sync. Adjust. If you set AV Sync. Adjust to ON, you can adjust the sound output (from TV speakers or SPDIF) to match the screen image.

SIMPLINK is a feature that enables you to control and manage various multimedia devices conveniently via the SIMPLINK menu using your TV remote. This function is only compatible with devices that have the SIMPLINK logo.

To set up SIMPLINK:

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal to the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using a high-speed HDMI® cable (with CEC feature added).

2. Select INPUT → SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window will appear.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK Functions:

• Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

• Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu to control it from the TV screen instantly.

• Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

• Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

• Sync Power on: When the equipment with SIMPLINK function starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

• Speaker: Select the speaker on either the home theatre unit or the TV.

To set or change the TV password, go to SETTINGS → LOCK → Set Password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To reset all settings to their factory defaults, go to SETTINGS → OPTION → Factory Reset. All stored information will be deleted, and the TV will turn itself off and back on. Please note:

• When the Lock System is in place, a pop-up window will appear and ask for the password.

• Do not turn off the power during initialization.

When watching 3D content, please observe the following warnings for a safe and comfortable experience.

Viewing Time and Environment:

• Take 5-15 minute breaks every hour when watching 3D content. Viewing for a long period may cause headache, dizziness, fatigue, or eye strain.

• Maintain a distance of at least twice the screen diagonal length. If you feel discomfort, move further away from the TV.

Photosensitive Seizure or Chronic Illness:

• Some users may experience a seizure or other abnormal symptoms when exposed to flashing lights or particular patterns from 3D content.

• Do not watch 3D videos if you feel nausea, are pregnant, or have a chronic illness such as epilepsy, cardiac disorder, or blood pressure disease.

• 3D content is not recommended for those who suffer from stereo blindness or stereo anomaly, as it may cause double images or discomfort.

• If you have strabismus (cross-eyed), amblyopia (weak eyesight), or astigmatism, you may have trouble sensing depth and easily feel fatigue. It is advised to take more frequent breaks.

• If your eyesight varies between your right and left eye, revise your eyesight prior to watching 3D content.

Viewing Age Recommendations:

• Infants/Children: Usage/Viewing of 3D content for children under the age of 6 is prohibited.

• Teenagers: Teenagers under the age of 19 may react with sensitivity to light stimulation. Advise them to refrain from watching 3D content for a long time when tired.

• Elderly: The elderly may perceive less 3D effect. Do not sit closer than the recommended distance.

You should discontinue or refrain from watching 3D content if you feel fatigue from lack of sleep, overwork, or drinking. If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop watching 3D content and get enough rest until the symptom subsides:

• Headache

• Eyeball pain

• Dizziness

• Nausea

• Palpitation

• Blurriness

• Discomfort

• Double image

• Visual inconvenience or fatigue

Consult your doctor if the symptoms persist.

Please follow these cautions when using the 3D glasses:

• Make sure to use LG 3D glasses. Otherwise, you may not be able to view 3D videos properly.

• Do not use 3D glasses instead of your normal glasses, sunglasses, or protective goggles.

• Using modified 3D glasses may cause eye strain or image distortion.

• Do not keep your 3D glasses in extremely high or low temperatures, as it will cause deformation.

• The 3D glasses are fragile and are easily scratched. Always use a soft, clean piece of cloth when wiping the lenses. Do not scratch the lenses of the 3D glasses with sharp objects or clean/wipe them with chemicals.

To safely remove a USB storage device, select it from Q.MENU → USB Device. When you see the message that the USB device has been removed, you can separate the device from the TV. Once a USB device has been selected for removal, it can no longer be read. You will need to remove it and re-connect it to use it again.

Warning for using a USB storage device:

• If the USB storage device has a built-in auto-recognition program or uses its own driver, it may not work.

• Some USB storage devices may not work or may work incorrectly.

• Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

• For external USB HDDs, it is recommended to use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5 V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

• It is recommended to use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

• If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on. For more information, refer to the user manual of the USB HDD.

• Data in the USB storage device can be damaged, so be sure to back up important files to other devices. Data maintenance is the user’s responsibility and the manufacturer is not responsible for data loss.

Your LG 55LB620V-ZE supports a variety of file formats for playback from a USB device via My Media.

Supported Photo Formats:

• jpeg, jpg, jpe: Minimum size 64×64, Maximum size 15360×8640 (Normal) or 1920×1440 (Progressive)

• bmp: Minimum size 64×64, Maximum size 9600×6400

• png: Minimum size 64×64, Maximum size 9600×6400 (Non-Interlace) or 1200×800 (Interlace)

Clean your TV regularly to keep the best performance and to extend the product lifespan. First, make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand:

• To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

Power cord:

• Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

CAUTION:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage to the screen.

• Do not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

• Do not use any chemicals as this may damage the product.

• Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

The LG 55LB620V-ZE supports various 3D video formats. Video input in these formats should switch to the 3D screen automatically. If it does not, you may need to manually convert the settings.
