• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

• Use only with a compatible cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. Use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.

• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

To prevent fire, electric shock, malfunction, or product deformation, do not place the TV and/or remote control in the following environments:

• Away from direct sunlight.

• In an area with high humidity, such as a bathroom.

• Near any heat source, such as stoves and other devices that produce heat.

• Near kitchen counters or humidifiers where they can easily be exposed to steam or oil.

• In an area exposed to rain or wind.

• Do not expose to dripping or splashing and do not place objects filled with liquids (vases, cups, etc.) on or over the apparatus.

• Near flammable objects such as gasoline or candles, or where the TV is exposed to direct air conditioning.

• In excessively dusty places.

Additionally, to prevent the spread of fire, keep candles or other items with open flames away from the product at all times.

• Protect the power cord from physical or mechanical abuse, such as being twisted, kinked, pinched, closed in a door, or walked upon. Pay particular attention to plugs, wall outlets, and the point where the cord exits the device.

• Do not move the TV while the power cord is plugged in.

• Do not use a damaged or loosely fitting power cord.

• Be sure to grasp the plug when unplugging the power cord. Do not pull on the power cord to unplug the TV.

• Do not connect too many devices to the same AC power outlet, as this could result in fire or electric shock.

• The power plug is the disconnecting device. In case of an emergency, the power plug must remain readily accessible.

• A TV with a three-prong grounded AC plug must be connected to a three-prong grounded AC outlet. Ensure you connect the earth ground wire to prevent possible electric shock.

• Never touch the TV or antenna during a lightning storm.

• Ensure the power cord is connected securely to the TV and wall socket.

When cleaning your LG 49SK8050PUA TV, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the power cord.

2. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.

3. Do not spray water or other liquids directly on the TV.

4. Do not clean your TV with chemicals including glass cleaner, any type of air freshener, insecticide, lubricants, wax (car, industrial), abrasive, thinner, benzene, alcohol, etc., as these can damage the product and/or its panel.

When cleaning, be careful not to allow any liquid or foreign objects to enter the gap between the upper, left, or right side of the panel and the guide panel.

• Make sure to wring any excess water or cleaner from the cloth.

• Do not spray water or cleaner directly onto the TV screen.

• Make sure to spray just enough water or cleaner onto a dry cloth to wipe the screen.

When moving or lifting the TV, read the following to prevent it from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation:

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• Use at least two people to move a large TV.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grille area.

• When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright; never turn the TV on its side or tilt it towards the left or right.

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

• Do not place the product on the floor with its front facing down without padding.

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. For proper ventilation, leave a minimum of 10 cm (4 inches) of space between the TV and the wall.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

When attaching the stand, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

To prevent the TV from tipping over, you can secure it to a wall:

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts, on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with bolts to the wall. The location of the wall bracket should match the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

Please note:

• Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely.

• Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

• Make sure that the screws are fastened tightly. Do not use excessive force, as this may strip them.

To wall mount your LG 49SK8050PUA, you will need a wall mount bracket that meets the VESA standard. The specifications are as follows:

• VESA (A x B): 200 x 200 mm

• Standard Screw: M6

• Number of screws: 4

• Optional Wall Mount Bracket Models: LSW240B, MSW240

When mounting, remove the stand first by performing the stand attachment in reverse. Ensure the device is adequately secured to the wall with enough space for external device connectivity. Do not install the TV by hanging the power and signal cables on the back of the TV.

You can operate the basic functions of your LG 49SK8050PUA using the button on the TV.

Basic Functions:

• Power On: Press the button once.

• Power Off: Press and hold the button. All running apps will close.

• Menu Control: Press the button when the TV is on to access the menu.

• Menu Selection: Press and hold the button to select a menu item.

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is on, press the button once to bring up the control menu. You can then press the button repeatedly to cycle through the options:

• Power Off: Turns the power off.

• Input: Changes the input source.

• Channel: Scrolls through the saved channels.

• Volume: Adjusts the volume level.

How to register the Magic Remote Control:

To use the Magic Remote, you must first pair it with your TV.

1. Put batteries into the Magic Remote and turn the TV on.

2. Point the Magic Remote at your TV and press the Wheel (OK) button on the remote control.

If the TV fails to register the Magic Remote, try again after turning the TV off and back on.

How to deregister the Magic Remote Control:

Press the BACK and HOME buttons at the same time for five seconds to unpair the Magic Remote with your TV.

Pressing and holding the GUIDE button will let you cancel and re-register the Magic Remote at the same time.

Note: Do not mix new batteries with old ones. Failure to match the correct polarities may cause the battery to burst or leak.

The Magic Remote for your LG 49SK8050PUA has the following functions (Note: to use a button with a * function, press and hold for more than 3 seconds):

• POWER: Turns the TV on or off.

• STB PWR: Turns your connected set-top box on or off.

• Number buttons: Enters numbers.

• – (Dash): Inserts a dash between numbers.

• LIST: Accesses the saved channel list.

• Screen Remote: Displays the Screen Remote. *Accesses the Universal Control Menu in some regions or enables SAP (Secondary Audio Program).

• QUICK ACCESS*: Accesses an application or Live TV channel registered to a number button.

• VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume level.

• MUTE: Mutes all sounds. *Accesses the Accessibility menu.

• CH ∧/∨: Scrolls through the saved channels.

• Voice recognition: (Network connection required) Press and hold to speak a command.

• HOME: Accesses the Home menu. *Shows previous history.

• Wheel (OK): Press the center to select a menu. Scroll the wheel to change channels.

• Up/Down/Left/Right Arrows: Scrolls the menu. Pressing them while using the pointer will make the pointer disappear and the remote will operate like a general remote. Shake the remote to display the pointer again.

• BACK: Returns to the previous level. *Clears on-screen displays and returns to the last input.

• GUIDE: Displays the program guide.

• Streaming Service buttons (1, 2): Connects to the specific video streaming service.

• INPUT: Changes the input source. *Displays all lists of external inputs.

• Q. Settings: Accesses the Quick Settings. *Displays the All Settings menu.

• Colored buttons: Access special functions in some menus.

• Media control buttons (▶, Ⅱ): Control media contents.

• LIVE ZOOM: Zooms in on a selected area to view it in full screen.

• FOCUS*: Zooms in on the area where the remote control is pointed.

If there is no image display and no sound is produced:

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products to it.

If the TV turns off suddenly:

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may have been interrupted.

• Check if the auto-off function is activated in the settings menu.

• If there is no signal while the TV is on, it will turn off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Abnormal Display Issues:

• If the TV feels cold, there may be a small flicker when it is turned on. This is normal and not a malfunction.

• Some minute dot defects (tiny red, green, or blue spots) may be visible on the screen. These are deactivated pixels and are normal for an advanced panel with millions of pixels; they do not adversely affect the TV’s performance.

• Avoid touching the LCD screen or holding your finger(s) against it for long periods. This may produce temporary distortion effects.

• Displaying a still image for a prolonged period may cause image sticking or “burn-in”. Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for an extended length of time.

Generated Sound Explanations:

• Cracking noise: A cracking noise that occurs when watching or turning off the TV is generated by plastic thermal contraction due to temperature and humidity. This noise is common for products where thermal deformation is required and does not indicate a problem.

• Electrical circuit humming/panel buzzing: A low-level noise is generated from a high-speed switching circuit, which supplies a large amount of current to operate the product. It varies depending upon the product. This generated sound does not affect the performance and reliability of the TV.

You can connect an external control device (like a computer or A/V control system) to the RS-232C input jack to control the TV’s functions externally.

Connection:

• USB to Serial Converter: Use a PL2303 chip-based USB to serial converter. Connect the USB end to the TV’s USB port and the serial end to your control device.

• RS-232C Cable (D-Sub 9pin): Connect a DE9 female-to-female RS-232C cable between the PC and the TV’s RS-232C IN port.

Set ID Configuration:

1. Press SETTINGS on your remote to access the main menus.

2. Navigate to ‘General’ → ‘About this TV’ or ‘OPTION’ and press OK.

3. Scroll to ‘SET ID’ and press OK.

4. Select a set ID number from 1 to 99 and select CLOSE.

5. When finished, press EXIT.

• Data length: 8 bits

• Parity: None

• Stop bit: 1 bit

• Communication code: ASCII code

• Use a crossed (reverse) cable.
