To attach the stand to your LG 49LB551V-ZC, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect it from scratches. Then, align the stand base with the TV set and secure it using the provided screws. Ensure the screws are tightened properly to secure the stand.

Follow these tips for the best connection:

To transmit video and audio signals from an external device, connect the device and your LG 49LB551V-ZC with a Euro scart cable. Any Euro scart cable used must be signal shielded. When watching digital TV in 3D imaging mode, only 2D signals can be output through the SCART cable (only on 3D models).

• The external device connection may differ from the model.

• Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port.

• If you record a TV programme on a DVD recorder or VCR, make sure to connect the TV signal input cable to the TV through a DVD recorder or VCR.

• Refer to the external equipment’s manual for operating instructions.

• If you connect a gaming device to the TV, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

• In PC mode, there may be noise associated with the resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate to another rate or adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear.

• In PC mode, some resolution settings may not work properly depending on the graphics card.

The Joystick button, located below the TV screen, can be used to operate basic TV functions by pressing or moving it up, down, left, or right.

Note: When you move the joystick button up, down, left, or right, be careful not to press it. If you press the joystick button first, you cannot adjust the volume level and saved programmes.

When the TV is turned on, press the joystick button one time. You can adjust the Menu items by moving the joystick button up, down, left or right.

To prevent your LG 49LB551V-ZC from being scratched or damaged during transportation, please follow this advice:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times.

• It is recommended to move the TV in its original box or packing material.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

• Do not expose the TV to jolts or excessive vibration during transport.

• Keep the TV upright; never turn it on its side or tilt it.

• Do not apply excessive pressure that could cause the frame chassis to flex or bend, as it may damage the screen.

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

Caution: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

This feature is not available for all models. If your model supports it, follow these steps:

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

Note: Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely. Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided.

To mount your LG 49LB551V-ZC, attach an optional wall mount bracket to a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. Use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard. The specific VESA pattern and screw size for the 49-inch model are as follows:

Important Cautions:

• Disconnect the power first before moving or installing the TV.

• If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall. Use an authorized LG wall mount.

To use the remote, point it toward the remote control sensor on the TV. To replace batteries, open the battery cover, replace with 1.5 V AAA batteries matching the polarity, and close the cover. Do not mix old and new batteries.

To automatically tune the programmes, go to SETTINGS → SETUP → Auto Tuning. This function finds and saves programmes that are currently broadcasting. Note that if the Input Source is not connected properly, programme registration may not work. If the Lock System is turned on, a pop-up window will appear asking for a password.

You can calibrate and adjust for optimum picture quality using the Picture Wizard. Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Wizard III. This feature allows you to adjust the picture without needing expensive pattern devices or professional help.

To select a picture mode optimized for your viewing environment, go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode.

• Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness, and sharpness to display vivid images.

• Standard: Displays images in standard levels of contrast, brightness, and sharpness.

• Eco/APS: The Energy Saver feature changes settings on the TV to reduce power consumption.

• Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies or games.

• Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions by emphasizing primary colours such as white, grass, or sky blue.

• Expert 1, 2: A menu for adjusting picture quality that allows experts and amateurs to enjoy the best TV viewing. This is the adjustment menu provided for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals.

To reduce power consumption by adjusting screen brightness, go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Energy Saving.

• Auto: The TV sensor detects the ambient lighting and automatically adjusts the screen brightness.

• Off: Turns off the Energy Saving mode.

• Minimum / Medium / Maximum: Applies the pre-set Energy Saving mode.

• Screen Off: The screen is turned off and only sound is played. Press any button except the Power button on the remote control to turn the screen back on.

To choose your audio output, go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out.

• To use TV speaker: Select TV Speaker. Sound is output through the TV speaker.

• To use External Speaker (Optical): Select External Speaker (Optical). Sound is output through the speaker connected to the optical port. SimpLink is supported.

• To connect and use an LG audio device: Select LG Sound Sync (Optical). Connect the LG audio device to the optical digital audio output port.

• To use Headphones: Select Headphone. Sound is output through the headphone port.

To set up the Digital Sound Out when using an external optical speaker, go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → External Speaker (Optical) → Digital Sound Out. The output format depends on the input audio.

SIMPLINK is a feature that enables you to control and manage various multimedia devices conveniently via the SIMPLINK menu using the TV remote.

To set up SIMPLINK:

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal and the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using a high-speed HDMI cable (with CEC feature added).

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) → SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window will appear.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK function descriptions:

• Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

• Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu to control it from the TV screen instantly.

• Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

• Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

• Sync Power on: When the equipment with SIMPLINK function connected to an HDMI terminal starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

• Speaker: Select speaker either on the home theatre unit or the TV.

To set or change the TV password, go to SETTINGS → LOCK → Set Password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To return to factory settings, go to SETTINGS → OPTION → Factory Reset. This will delete all stored information and reset the TV settings. The TV will turn itself off and back on to complete the process. Do not turn off the power during initialization. If the Lock System is in place, a pop-up window will appear and ask for the password.

To safely remove a USB storage device, press Q.MENU → USB Device. Select the USB device you want to remove. When you see a message that the USB device has been removed, you can separate it from the TV. Once a USB device has been selected for removal, it can no longer be read until you reconnect it.

Important warnings for using a USB storage device:

• If the USB device has a built-in auto recognition program or uses its own driver, it may not work.

• Some USB storage devices may not work or may work incorrectly.

• Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

• For external USB HDDs, it is recommended to use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

• It is recommended to use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

• If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on.

• Data on the USB storage device can be damaged, so be sure to back up important files to other devices.

If you cannot control the TV with the remote, try the following solutions:

• Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.

• Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed (positive to positive, negative to negative).

If there is no image and sound, please check the following:

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products.

If your TV turns off suddenly, consider these possibilities:

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may be interrupted.

• Check if the Automatic Standby, Sleep Timer, or Off Time feature is activated in the TIME settings.

• If there is no signal while the TV is on, it will turn off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

If you see a ‘No signal’ or ‘Invalid Format’ message when connected to a PC, follow these steps:

• Turn the TV off and on using the remote control.

• Reconnect the HDMI cable.

• Restart the PC with the TV on.
