To attach the stand, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches. The assembly process varies slightly depending on your specific model series.

For LB55**, LB56**-ZE / ZC, LB62**-ZA / ZB models:

1. Attach the ‘A Stand Base’ to the ‘B Stand Base’.

2. Secure the assembled stand to the bottom of the TV set using the provided screws.

For LB56**-ZT / ZQ, LB62**-ZE models:

1. Attach the ‘A Stand Base’ to the ‘B Stand Base’.

2. Secure the assembled stand to the bottom of the TV set using the provided screws.

Please use the correct screws for your model size:

M4 x L14 screws are used for most models.

M4 x L20 screws are for specific 32-inch models (32LB55**, 32LB56**-ZE / ZC, 32LB62**-ZA / ZB, 32LB56**-ZT / ZQ, 32LB62**-ZE).

Antenna Connection:

Connect the TV to a wall antenna socket with an RF cable (75 Ω) into the “ANTENNA / CABLE IN” port on the back of the TV.

If you need to use more than 2 TVs, use a signal splitter.

If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier.

If the image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try to realign the antenna in the correct direction.

An antenna cable and converter are not supplied.

Satellite Dish Connection (Only satellite models):

Connect the TV to a satellite dish to a satellite socket with a satellite RF cable (75 Ω) into the “LNB Satellite IN” port on the back of the TV.

To transmit video and audio signals from an external device, connect the device and the TV set with a Euro Scart cable. Ensure any Euro Scart cable used is signal shielded.

The AV1 (TV Out) port will output different signal types depending on the current input mode:

Note: For 3D models, when watching digital TV in 3D imaging mode, only 2D out signals can be output through the SCART cable.

Your LG 49LB550V-ZA offers various ports to connect external devices. For the best picture and audio quality, it is recommended to use an HDMI cable.

Available Connections:

HDMI IN: For connecting devices like Blu-Ray players, HD Cable Boxes, HD STB, or PCs. Some models have a second HDMI port (HDMI IN 2 (MHL)) for mobile device connections.

COMPONENT IN: For DVD/Blu-Ray players or HD Cable Boxes using Component (Y, Pb, Pr) cables for video and RCA (Red, White) cables for audio.

AV IN: For VCRs, DVD/Blu-Ray players, or HD Cable Boxes using composite (Yellow) cable for video and RCA (Red, White) cables for audio.

OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT: For connecting to a Digital Audio System.

USB IN: For connecting USB storage devices or a USB HDD.

LAN (Only on LAN port models): For a wired network connection.

H/P OUT: For connecting headphones.

PCMCIA card slot: For a CI Module.

When connecting external devices, you can do so regardless of the order of the TV port. Refer to the external equipment’s manual for its specific operating instructions. If connecting a gaming device, use the cable supplied with it.

You can operate the TV functions by pressing or moving the joystick button located below the TV screen.

Basic Functions:

Power On: When the TV is off, place your finger on the joystick button and press it once and release it.

Power Off: When the TV is on, place your finger on the joystick button and press it once for a few seconds and release it. (If the Menu is on screen, this action will exit the menu instead).

Volume Control: Move the joystick left or right to adjust the volume.

Programmes Control: Move the joystick up or down to scroll through saved programmes.

Note: When moving your finger up, down, left, or right, be careful not to press the joystick button first, as this will prevent you from adjusting the volume or programmes.

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is on, press the joystick button one time to bring up the menu. You can then adjust menu items by moving the joystick.

Turns the power off.

Settings: Accesses the main menu.

Close: Clears on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.

Input List: Changes the input source.

The remote control allows you to operate the TV’s functions. Ensure you point it toward the remote control sensor on the TV.

Key Functions (may vary slightly between LB55/LB56 and LB62 models):

POWER: Turns the TV on or off.

TV/RAD: Selects Radio, TV, and DTV programme.

SUBTITLE: Recalls your preferred subtitle in digital mode.

INPUT: Changes the input source.

Number buttons: Enters numbers.

LIST: Accesses the saved programme list.

Q.VIEW: Returns to the previously viewed programme.

+/-: Adjusts the volume level.

FAV: Accesses your favourite programme list.

GUIDE: Shows the programme guide.

MUTE: Mutes all sounds.

P (Up/Down): Scrolls through the saved programmes.

Navigation buttons (up/down/left/right): Scrolls through menus or options.

OK: Selects menus or options and confirms your input.

BACK: Returns to the previous level.

SETTINGS: Accesses the main menus.

Q.MENU: Accesses the Quick menus.

EXIT: Clears on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.

Coloured buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue): Access special functions in some menus.

AD: Enables the audio descriptions function.

3D (LB62** model only): Used for viewing 3D video.

REC/Record (Time MachineReady supported models only): Starts to record and displays the record menu.

Control buttons (Play, Pause, etc.): Controls MY MEDIA menus, Time MachineReady control, or SIMPLINK compatible devices.

You can adjust the picture settings by navigating to SETTINGS -> PICTURE. From there you can select different modes and make advanced adjustments.

Picture Mode: Select a predefined picture mode optimized for your viewing environment or programme.

Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness, and sharpness for vivid images.

Standard: Displays images in standard levels of contrast, brightness, and sharpness.

Eco/APS: Reduces power consumption by changing TV settings.

Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies or games.

Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions.

Expert 1, 2: A menu for experts and amateurs to adjust picture quality for the best TV viewing. This is for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals.

Advanced Control / Expert Control: Calibrates the screen for each picture mode or adjusts settings for a special screen. Options include:

Dynamic Contrast: Adjusts contrast based on image brightness.

Dynamic Colour: Adjusts colours to appear more natural.

Skin/Sky/Grass Colour: Sets these colour spectrums separately.

Gamma: Sets the gradation curve.

Colour Gamut: Selects the range of colours that can be expressed.

Edge Enhancer: Shows clearer and more distinctive edges.

Colour Temperature: Adjusts the overall tone of the screen.

Colour Management System: A system used by experts to adjust six colour areas (Red/Green/Blue/Cyan/Magenta/Yellow) without affecting other colours.

Picture Wizard III: Calibrates and adjusts for optimum picture quality using the remote control without expensive pattern devices.

You can manage your audio output by going to SETTINGS -> AUDIO -> Sound Out.

TV Speaker: Sound is output through the TV’s internal speakers.

External Speaker (Optical): Sound is output through the speaker connected to the optical port. SimpLink is supported.

LG Sound Sync (Optical): Connect an LG audio device with the Sound Sync logo to the optical digital audio output port for rich, powerful sound.

Headphone: Sound is output through the headphone connected to the earphone/headphone port.

To adjust the synchronization between audio and video, go to SETTINGS -> AUDIO -> AV Sync. Adjust. If you set this to ON, you can adjust the sound output to match the screen image.

To adjust the Digital Sound Out format, navigate to SETTINGS -> AUDIO -> Sound Out -> External Speaker (Optical) -> Digital Sound Out.

SIMPLINK allows you to control and manage various multimedia devices with your TV remote via the SIMPLINK menu. This function is only compatible with devices bearing the SIMPLINK logo.

Setup:

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal to the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using a high-speed HDMI® cable (with CEC feature added).

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) -> SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window will appear.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK Functions:

Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu for instant control.

Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

Sync Power on: When equipment with SIMPLINK function connected to an HDMI terminal starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

Speaker: Select the speaker on either the home theatre unit or the TV.

To remove a USB device:

Go to Q.MENU -> USB Device and select the USB storage device you want to remove. When you see a message that the device has been removed, you can safely separate it from the TV.

USB Device Warnings:

Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

It is recommended to use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

For external USB HDDs, it is recommended to use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5 V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on.

Data on a USB storage device can be damaged, so be sure to back up important files. Data maintenance is the user’s responsibility.

To set a password:

Navigate to SETTINGS -> LOCK -> Set Password. This allows you to set or change the TV password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To perform a Factory Reset:

Go to SETTINGS -> OPTION -> Factory Reset. All stored information will be deleted, and the TV settings will be reset. The TV will turn itself off and back on to complete the process. Do not turn off the power during initialization. If the Lock System is enabled, a pop-up window will appear asking for the password.

Clean your TV regularly to maintain the best performance and extend its lifespan. First, make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables.

Screen, frame, cabinet, and stand:

To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

Important Cautions:

Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

Do not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

Do not use any chemicals (glass cleaner, car/industrial shiner, abrasives, wax, benzene, alcohol, etc.) as this may damage the product.

Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

Power cord:

Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

When using a PC, connect to the HDMI IN 1 port.

(Note: The 1360×768, 1280×1024, and 1920×1080 resolutions are not supported on certain 32-inch models).
