For models LB55**, LB56**-ZE / ZC, LB62**-ZA / ZB:

1. Place the ‘A Stand Base’ onto the ‘B Stand Base’.

2. Align the TV with the assembled stand and secure it using the provided screws. For 32-inch models (32LB55**, 32LB56**-ZE/ZC, 32LB62**-ZA/ZB), use four M4 x L20 screws. For other sizes, use four M4 x L14 screws.

For models LB56**-ZT / ZQ, LB62**-ZE:

1. Place the ‘A Stand Base’ into the ‘B Stand Base’.

2. Align the TV with the assembled stand and secure it using the provided screws. For the 32-inch model (32LB56**-ZT/ZQ, 32LB62**-ZE), use four M4 x L20 screws. For other sizes, use four M4 x L14 screws.

CAUTION: When attaching the stand to the TV set, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

To connect your LG 49LB550B-ZA to a wall antenna socket, use an RF cable (75 Ω).

Notes:

• Use a signal splitter if you need to connect more than 2 TVs.

• If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier properly to improve the image quality.

• If the image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try to realign the antenna in the correct direction.

• An antenna cable and converter are not supplied.

• Supported DTV Audio formats are: MPEG, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, HE-AAC.

If your LG 49LB550B-ZA is a satellite model, you can connect it to a satellite dish to a satellite socket using a satellite RF cable (75 Ω). The port is labeled “LNB Satellite IN”.

The Euro Scart connection on your LG 49LB550B-ZA transmits video and audio signals from an external device to the TV. Connect the external device and the TV set with the Euro Scart cable as shown in the manual.

Note:

• Any Euro Scart cable used must be signal shielded.

• When watching digital TV in 3D imaging mode (only 3D models), only 2D out signals can be output through the SCART cable.

You can connect various external devices to your LG 49LB550B-ZA, such as HD receivers, DVD players, VCRs, audio systems, USB storage devices, PCs, and gaming devices. Refer to the manual provided with each device for specific connection information.

General notes:

• The external device connection may differ from the model.

• Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port.

• If you record a TV programme on a DVD recorder or VCR, make sure to connect the TV signal input cable to the TV through the DVD recorder or VCR.

• Refer to the external equipment’s manual for operating instructions.

• If you connect a gaming device, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

• In PC mode, there may be noise associated with resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate, or adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear.

• In PC mode, some resolution settings may not work properly depending on the graphics card.

The Joystick button is located below the TV screen. You can operate the TV functions by pressing or moving the joystick button up, down, left, or right.

Basic Functions:

• Power On: When the TV is off, place your finger on the joystick button and press it once and release it.

• Power Off: When the TV is on, press and hold the joystick button for a few seconds and release it. (If the Menu is on the screen, this action will exit the Menu.)

• Volume Control: Move the joystick left or right to adjust the volume.

• Programmes Control: Move the joystick up or down to scroll through the saved programmes.

Note: When you move your finger over the joystick button, be careful not to press it first, as this will prevent you from adjusting the volume or changing programmes.

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is on, press the joystick button once. You can adjust the Menu items by moving the joystick up, down, left, or right.

Please follow this advice to prevent the LG 49LB550B-ZA from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

• It is recommended to move the TV in its original box or packing material.

• Before moving or lifting, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting a large TV, at least 2 people should be involved.

• When transporting the TV by hand, hold it as shown in the manual’s illustration.

• Do not expose the TV to jolts or excessive vibration during transport.

• Keep the TV upright; never turn it on its side or tilt it to the left or right.

• Do not apply excessive pressure that could cause the frame chassis to flex or bend, as it may damage the screen.

1. Lift and tilt the LG 49LB550B-ZA into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

This feature is not available for all models. To secure your LG 49LB550B-ZA to a wall:

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

CAUTION: Make sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

Note:

• Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely.

• Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

To mount your LG 49LB550B-ZA on a wall, attach an optional wall mount bracket to the rear of the TV and install it on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer.

CAUTION:

• Disconnect the power first, then move or install the TV to avoid electric shock.

• If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount.

• Do not over-tighten the screws, as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries from misuse or improper accessories are not covered by the warranty.

Automatically Setting Up Programme (Auto Tuning):

Go to SETTINGS → SETUP → Auto Tuning to automatically tune the programmes. Note that if the Input Source is not connected properly, programme registration may not work, and Auto Tuning only finds programmes that are currently broadcasting. If the Lock System is on, a password will be required.

To adjust picture with Picture Wizard:

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Wizard III. This feature calibrates and adjusts for optimum picture quality using the remote control without expensive pattern devices.

To select Picture Mode:

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode. Select the picture mode optimized for your viewing environment.

• Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness, and sharpness.

• Standard: Displays images in standard levels.

• Eco/APS: Reduces power consumption.

• Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies or games.

• Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions.

• Expert 1, 2: Menu for adjusting picture quality for experts and amateurs. This is for ISF-certified professionals.

To set advanced control:

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode → Advanced Control / Expert Control. This calibrates the screen for each picture mode.

• Dynamic Contrast: Adjusts contrast to the optimal level.

• Dynamic Colour: Adjusts colours to appear more natural.

• Skin Colour: Sets skin colour spectrum separately.

• Sky Colour: Sky colour is set separately.

• Grass Colour: Natural colour spectrum can be separately set.

• Gamma: Sets the gradation curve.

• Colour Gamut: Selects the range of colours that can be expressed.

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode → Picture Option.

• Noise Reduction: Eliminates noise in the picture.

• MPEG Noise Reduction: Eliminates noise generated during digital signal creation.

• Black Level: Adjusts brightness and contrast to suit the black level of the input picture.

• Real Cinema: Optimizes the screen for movie viewing.

• Motion Eye Care/SUPER Energy Saving: Saves power by adjusting brightness corresponding to the image movement.

To use TruMotion (Depending on model):

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → TruMotion. This corrects images to display smoother motion sequences.

To use Energy Saving feature:

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Energy Saving. This reduces power consumption by adjusting screen brightness. Options include Auto, Off, Minimum, Medium, Maximum, and Screen Off.

To use TV speaker:

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → TV Speaker. Sound is output through the TV speaker.

To use External Speaker:

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → External Speaker (Optical). Sound is output through the speaker connected to the optical port. SimpLink is supported.

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → External Speaker (Optical) → Digital Sound Out. This sets up the Digital Sound Out. The output format depends on the audio input:

To connect and use an LG audio device:

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → LG Sound Sync (Optical). Connect an LG audio device to the optical digital audio output port.

To use Headphone:

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → Headphone. Sound is output through the headphone port.

To synchronize audio and video:

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → AV Sync. Adjust. If you set AV Sync. Adjust to ON, you can adjust the sound output (TV speakers or SPDIF) to the screen image.

SIMPLINK is a feature that enables you to control and manage various multimedia devices conveniently via the SIMPLINK menu.

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal and the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using an HDMI cable.

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) → SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window appears.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

Note: This function is only compatible with devices with the SIMPLINK logo. You need to use a high-speed HDMI® cable with CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) feature.

SIMPLINK function description:

• Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

• Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu to control it from the TV screen instantly.

• Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

• Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

• Sync Power on: When the equipment with SIMPLINK function starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

• Speaker: Select speaker either on the home theatre unit or the TV.

To set password:

Go to SETTINGS → LOCK → Set Password. This sets or changes the TV password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To return to Factory Reset:

Go to SETTINGS → OPTION → Factory Reset. All stored information is deleted and TV settings are reset. The TV turns itself off and back on. Do not turn off the power during initialization. If the Lock System is in place, a pop-up window will ask for the password.

To remove the USB device:

Go to Q.MENU → USB Device. Select a USB storage device that you want to remove. When you see the message that the device has been removed, you can separate it from the TV. Once selected for removal, it can no longer be read until you reconnect it.

Using a USB storage device – warning:

• If the USB device has a built-in auto recognition program or uses its own driver, it may not work.

• Some USB storage devices may not work or may work incorrectly.

• Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

• For external USB HDDs, it is recommended to use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5 V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

• It is recommended to use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

• If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on.

• Data in the USB storage device can be damaged, so back up important files. Data maintenance is the user’s responsibility.
