To attach the stand to your LG 42LB628U-ZB, please follow these steps. Note that the image shown in the manual may differ from your TV.

CAUTION: When attaching the stand, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

There are two main stand types depending on your specific model series:

For models LB55**, LB56**-ZE / ZC, LB62**-ZA / ZB:

1. Attach the ‘A Stand Base’ to the ‘B Stand Base’.

2. Secure the stand to the TV using the four provided screws (4EA).

– For 32-inch models (32LB55**, 32LB56**-ZE / ZC, 32LB62**-ZA / ZB), use M4 x L20 screws.

– For other models in this series, use M4 x L14 screws.

For models LB56**-ZT / ZQ, LB62**-ZE:

1. Attach the ‘A Stand Base’ to the ‘B Stand Base’.

2. Secure the stand to the TV using the four provided screws (4EA).

– For 32-inch models (32LB56**-ZT / ZQ, 32LB62**-ZE), use M4 x L20 screws.

– For other models in this series, use M4 x L14 screws.

To connect your LG 42LB628U-ZB to a wall antenna socket, use an RF cable (75 Ω). The connection port is labeled ANTENNA/CABLE IN on the back of the TV. An antenna cable and converter are not supplied with the TV.

Please note the following:

• If you want to use more than 2 TVs, use a signal splitter.

• If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier properly to improve the image quality.

• If the image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try to realign the antenna in the correct direction.

• Supported DTV Audio formats are: MPEG, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, HE-AAC.

To connect your LG 42LB628U-ZB to a satellite dish, connect the TV to a satellite socket with a satellite RF cable (75 Ω). The connection port is labeled LNB Satellite IN on the back of the TV.

This feature is only available on satellite models.

The Euro Scart connection on your LG 42LB628U-ZB transmits video and audio signals from an external device to the TV. Connect the external device and the TV set with a Euro Scart cable. Any Euro Scart cable used must be signal shielded.

Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port. For the best picture and audio quality, it is recommended to connect the external device and the TV with an HDMI cable.

Key connection types include:

• HDMI: For devices like DVD/Blu-Ray players, HD Cable Boxes, HD STB, or PCs.

• USB IN: For USB storage devices or HDDs.

• COMPONENT IN: For devices like DVD/Blu-Ray players or HD Cable Boxes using component cables (Green, Blue, Red for video; Red, White for audio).

• AV IN: For devices like DVD/Blu-Ray players, HD Cable Boxes, or VCRs using composite cables (Yellow for video; Red, White for audio).

• OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT: To connect to a Digital Audio System.

• H/P OUT: For headphones.

If you connect a gaming device to the TV, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

PC Mode Note: In PC mode, there may be noise associated with the resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate, or adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear. Some resolution settings may not work properly depending on the graphics card.

When viewing 3D content on your LG 42LB628U-ZB, please observe the following guidelines for a safe and comfortable experience.

Viewing Environment and Time:

• Take 5-15 minute breaks every hour. Viewing 3D content for a long period of time may cause headache, dizziness, fatigue, or eye strain.

• Maintain a viewing distance of at least twice the screen diagonal length.

Health Considerations:

• Some users may experience a seizure or other abnormal symptoms when exposed to flashing lights or patterns from 3D content.

• Do not watch 3D videos if you feel nausea, are pregnant, or have a chronic illness such as epilepsy, cardiac disorder, or blood pressure disease.

• 3D content is not recommended for those who suffer from stereo blindness or stereo anomaly, as it may cause double images or discomfort.

• If you have strabismus (cross-eyed), amblyopia (weak eyesight), or astigmatism, you may have trouble sensing depth and feel fatigue easily. It is advised to take more frequent breaks.

• If your eyesight varies between your right and left eye, revise your eyesight prior to watching 3D content.

Discontinue Viewing if Symptoms Occur:

• Stop watching 3D content if you feel fatigue from lack of sleep, overwork, or drinking.

• If you experience symptoms such as headache, eyeball pain, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, blurriness, discomfort, or double image, stop viewing and get enough rest. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.

To ensure the best 3D viewing experience with your LG 42LB628U-ZB, please follow these cautions for using the 3D glasses:

• Make sure to use LG 3D glasses. Otherwise, you may not be able to view 3D videos properly.

• Do not use 3D glasses instead of your normal glasses, sunglasses, or protective goggles.

• Using modified 3D glasses may cause eye strain or image distortion.

• Do not keep your 3D glasses in extremely high or low temperatures, as it will cause deformation.

• The 3D glasses are fragile and are easily scratched. Always use a soft, clean piece of cloth when wiping the lenses. Do not scratch the lenses of the 3D glasses with sharp objects or clean/wipe them with chemicals.

The main components of your LG 42LB628U-ZB are the Screen, Speakers, Remote control sensor, and Power Indicator.

There is also a Joystick Button located below the TV screen. This button allows you to operate basic TV functions without the remote control.

You can set the power indicator light to on or off by selecting OPTION in the main menus.

You can operate the TV functions by pressing or moving the joystick button located below the screen.

Basic Functions

Note: When moving the joystick up, down, left, or right, be careful not to press it first. If you press the joystick button first, you cannot adjust the volume level and saved programmes.

Adjusting the Menu

When the TV is on, press the joystick button one time. You can adjust the Menu items by moving the joystick button up, down, left, or right.

To prevent your LG 42LB628U-ZB from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation, please follow this advice:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Make sure not to hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

• Keep the TV upright; never turn the TV on its side or tilt it towards the left or right.

Mounting on a table:

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

Securing the TV to a wall (this feature is not available for all models):

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts, on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

CAUTION: Make sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

Note: Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely. Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

To wall mount your LG 42LB628U-ZB, you need to use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard. It is recommended that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer.

CAUTION:

• Disconnect the power first, then move or install the TV. Otherwise, electric shock may occur.

• Do not over-tighten the screws as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty.

To automatically tune the programmes on your LG 42LB628U-ZB, navigate to SETTINGS → SETUP → Auto Tuning.

• Expert 1, 2: A menu for adjusting picture quality that allows experts to enjoy the best TV viewing. This is the adjustment menu provided for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals.

For further customization, you can use the Advanced Control / Expert Control menu to calibrate the screen for each picture mode. Options here include Dynamic Contrast, Dynamic Colour, Skin Colour, Sky Colour, Grass Colour, Gamma, Colour Gamut, Edge Enhancer, and Colour Management System.

To reduce power consumption on your LG 42LB628U-ZB, navigate to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Energy Saving. This feature reduces power consumption by adjusting screen brightness.

The options are:

• Auto: The TV sensor detects the ambient lighting and automatically adjusts the screen brightness. (Depending on model)

• To use Headphones:

SIMPLINK is a feature that enables you to control and manage various multimedia devices conveniently via the SIMPLINK menu using the TV remote.

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal and the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using a high-speed HDMI® cable (with CEC feature added).

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) → SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window will appear.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK function descriptions:

• Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

• Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu to control it from the TV screen instantly.

• Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

• Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

• Sync Power on: When the equipment with SIMPLINK function connected to the HDMI terminal starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

• Speaker: Select speaker either on the home theatre unit or the TV.

To set a password:

Navigate to SETTINGS → LOCK → Set Password. This sets or changes the TV password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To perform a Factory Reset:

Navigate to SETTINGS → OPTION → Factory Reset. All stored information is deleted and TV settings are reset. The TV will turn itself off and back on, and all settings will be reset.

• When Lock System is in place, a pop-up window appears and asks for the password.

• Do not turn off the power during initialization.

To safely remove a USB device:

Go to Q.MENU → USB Device. Select the USB storage device that you want to remove. When you see a message that the USB device has been removed, you can separate the device from the TV.

Warnings for using a USB storage device:

• If the USB storage device has a built-in auto recognition program or uses its own driver, it may not work.

• Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

• For external USB HDDs, it is recommended that you use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5 V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

• It is recommended that you use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

• If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on.

• Data in the USB storage device can be damaged, so be sure to back up important files to other devices. Data maintenance is the user’s responsibility.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand:

• To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

CAUTION:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage to the screen.

• Do not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

• Do not use any chemicals as this may damage the product.

• Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.
