To attach the stand to your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, please follow these steps. Note that the image shown in the manual may differ from your TV.

1. Place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect it from scratches.

2. Assemble the stand by attaching the Stand Base parts (A and B).

3. Secure the assembled stand to the bottom of the TV set using the provided screws.

For the LB56**-ZT / ZQ models, use four M4 x L14 screws. For some 32-inch models, M4 x L20 screws are used.

To connect your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV to a wall antenna socket, use an RF cable (75 Ω).

• If you need to use more than 2 TVs, use a signal splitter.

• If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier properly to improve the quality.

• If image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try realigning the antenna in the correct direction.

• Please note that an antenna cable and converter are not supplied.

• Supported DTV Audio formats are MPEG, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and HE-AAC.

To connect a satellite dish to your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV (for satellite models only), connect the TV to a satellite socket with a satellite RF cable (75 Ω). The port is labeled LNB Satellite IN.

The Euro Scart connection on your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV transmits video and audio signals from an external device. Connect the external device and the TV with a Euro Scart cable. Any Euro Scart cable used must be signal shielded.

The AV1 (TV Out) port outputs different signal types based on the current input mode:

Note: For 3D models, when watching digital TV in 3D imaging mode, only 2D out signals can be output through the SCART cable.

You can operate the TV functions by pressing or moving the joystick button located below the TV screen. Be careful not to press the joystick button when you intend to move it up, down, left, or right, as pressing it first will prevent volume and programme adjustments.

Basic Functions:

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is on, press the joystick button once to open the menu. You can then adjust menu items by moving the joystick up, down, left, or right.

To prevent your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation, please follow this advice:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may cause damage.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

• When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright; never turn it on its side or tilt it to the left or right.

• Do not apply excessive pressure that could cause flexing or bending of the frame chassis, as this may damage the screen.

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

Caution: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

To secure your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV to a wall (a feature not available on all models), follow these steps:

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts, on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket with the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Ensure the rope is kept horizontal with the flat surface.

Note:

• Make sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

• Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely.

• Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

To wall mount your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard. An optional wall mount bracket can be installed on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. It is recommended that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer.

Cautions:

• Disconnect the power first before moving or installing the TV.

• Do not over-tighten the screws, as this may cause damage and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Damages or injuries from misuse are not covered by the warranty.

For models 42LB55**, 42LB56**, and 42LB62**, Wall Mount Spacers may be required.

The remote control for your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV has several buttons with specific functions. Ensure you point the remote towards the remote control sensor on the TV. (The following descriptions are based on the LB62** model remote).

To automatically tune the programmes on your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, go to SETTINGS > SETUP > Auto Tuning. This function will automatically find and store available programmes.

• Ensure the Input Source is connected properly, otherwise, programme registration may not work.

• Auto Tuning only finds programmes that are currently broadcasting.

• If the Lock System is turned on, a pop-up window will appear asking for the password.

To calibrate and adjust for optimum picture quality on your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, you can use the Picture Wizard III feature. This allows you to adjust the picture using the remote control without needing expensive pattern devices. To access it, go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Picture Wizard III.

To select a picture mode optimized for your viewing environment or the programme, navigate to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Picture Mode on your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV. Available options include:

• Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness, and sharpness for vivid images.

• Standard: Displays images in standard levels of contrast, brightness, and sharpness.

• Eco/APS: The Energy Saver feature changes TV settings to reduce power consumption (Depending on model).

• Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies or games.

• Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions by emphasizing primary colours such as white, grass, or sky blue.

• Expert 1, 2: A menu for adjusting picture quality that allows experts and amateurs to enjoy the best TV viewing. This is the adjustment menu provided for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals.

The available range of picture modes may differ depending on the input signal. The ISF function is only available on some models.

To reduce power consumption by adjusting screen brightness on your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Energy Saving. The options are:

• Auto: (Depending on model) The TV sensor detects the ambient lighting and automatically adjusts the screen brightness.

• Off: Turns off the Energy Saving mode.

• Minimum / Medium / Maximum: Applies the pre-set Energy Saving mode.

• Screen Off: The screen is turned off and only sound is played. Press any button except the Power button on the remote control to turn the screen back on.

To manage the sound output on your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, you can choose between the internal TV speakers and an external speaker system.

• To use the TV speaker: Go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > Sound Out > TV Speaker. Sound will be output through the TV’s built-in speakers.

• To use an External Speaker (Optical): Go to SETTINGS > AUDIO > Sound Out > External Speaker (Optical). Sound will be output through a speaker connected to the optical port. This setting supports SimpLink.

You can further configure the digital sound output by navigating to SETTINGS > AUDIO > Sound Out > External Speaker (Optical) > Digital Sound Out.

SIMPLINK is a feature that allows you to control and manage various multimedia devices with your TV remote via the SIMPLINK menu. This feature is only compatible with devices bearing the SIMPLINK logo.

To set up SIMPLINK:

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal to the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using a high-speed HDMI® cable (with CEC feature).

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) > SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window will appear.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK Function Descriptions:

• Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

• Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu to control it from the TV screen instantly.

• Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

• Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

• Sync Power on: When the equipment with SIMPLINK function connected to the HDMI terminal starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

• Speaker: (Depending on model) Selects the speaker, either on the home theatre unit or the TV.

To set or change the TV password, go to SETTINGS > LOCK > Set Password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To reset your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV to its factory settings, go to SETTINGS > OPTION > Factory Reset. This will delete all stored information and reset the TV settings. The TV will turn itself off and back on with all settings reset.

• If the Lock System is active, a pop-up window will appear asking for the password.

• Do not turn off the power during the initialization process.

To safely remove a USB storage device from your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, go to Q.MENU > USB Device. Select the USB device you want to remove. When you see a message confirming that the USB device has been removed, you can separate the device from the TV. Once a USB device has been selected for removal, it can no longer be read. To use it again, you must remove the device and then re-connect it.

When using a USB storage device with your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, please observe the following warnings:

• If the USB device has a built-in auto recognition program or uses its own driver, it may not work.

• Some USB storage devices may not work or may work incorrectly.

• Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

• For external USB HDDs, it is recommended to use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5 V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

• It is recommended to use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

• If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on. Refer to the user manual of the USB HDD for more information.

• Data on the USB storage device can be damaged, so be sure to back up important files. Data maintenance is the user’s responsibility.

To keep your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV in the best condition and extend its lifespan, clean it regularly. First, make sure to turn the power off and disconnect all cables.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand:

• To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

If you cannot control your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV with the remote control, please check the following:

• Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.

• Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed (positive to positive, negative to negative).

If there is no image display and no sound is produced on your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV, try these steps:

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products to it.

If your LG 42LB565U-ZQ TV turns off suddenly, consider these possible causes:

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may have been interrupted.

• Check if the Automatic Standby (Depending on model) / Sleep Timer / Off Time feature is activated in the TIME settings.
