To attach the stand to your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV, please follow these instructions. The image shown in the manual may differ from your TV. There are two types of stands depending on the model group.

For models LB55**, LB56**-ZE / ZC, LB62**-ZA / ZB:

1. Place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect it from scratches.

2. Attach the A Stand Base to the B Stand Base as indicated in the diagram.

3. Align the stand with the mounting holes on the bottom of the TV.

4. Secure the stand to the TV using the provided screws (4EA). The screw size is M4 x L14 for models 42/49LB55**, 39/42/47/50/55/60LB56**, 42/49/55LB62**. For models 32LB55**, 32LB56**-ZE / ZC, 32LB62**-ZA / ZB, the screw size is M4 x L20.

For models LB56**-ZT / ZQ, LB62**-ZE:

1. Place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect it from scratches.

2. Attach the A Stand Base to the B Stand Base as indicated in the diagram.

3. Align the stand with the mounting holes on the bottom of the TV.

4. Secure the stand to the TV using the provided screws (4EA). The screw size is M4 x L14 for most models in this group. For models 32LB56**-ZT / ZQ, 32LB62**-ZE, the screw size is M4 x L20.

CAUTION: When attaching the stand to the TV set, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

Connect the LG 42LB5610-ZC TV to a wall antenna socket with an RF cable (75 Ω).

Notes:

• Use a signal splitter to use more than 2 TVs.

• If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier properly to improve the image quality.

• If the image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try to realign the antenna in the correct direction.

• An antenna cable and converter are not supplied.

• Supported DTV Audio includes MPEG, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and HE-AAC.

For satellite models of the LG 42LB5610-ZC, connect the TV to a satellite dish to a satellite socket with a satellite RF cable (75 Ω). The connection port is labeled LNB Satellite IN.

The Euro Scart connection transmits video and audio signals from an external device to the TV set. Connect the external device and the TV set with a Euro Scart cable as shown in the manual.

Note:

• Any Euro scart cable used must be signal shielded.

• When watching digital TV in 3D imaging mode, only 2D out signals can be output through the SCART cable (Only 3D models).

The following table shows the output type based on the current input mode:

TV Out: Outputs Analogue TV or Digital TV signals.

To connect external devices such as a DVD/Blu-Ray player, HD Cable Box, HD STB, or PC to your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV for the best picture and audio quality, use an HDMI cable. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the external device’s HDMI OUT port and the other end to one of the HDMI IN ports on the back or side of the TV. Some separate cables may not be provided with the TV.

When connecting various external devices (HD receivers, DVD players, VCRs, audio systems, USB storage devices, PC, gaming devices, etc.) to your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV, please keep the following in mind:

• The external device connection may differ from the model.

• Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port.

• If you record a TV programme on a DVD recorder or VCR, make sure to connect the TV signal input cable to the TV through the DVD recorder or VCR. For more information on recording, refer to the manual provided with the connected device.

• Refer to the external equipment’s manual for operating instructions.

• If you connect a gaming device to the TV, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

• In PC mode, there may be noise associated with the resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate to another rate, or adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear.

• In PC mode, some resolution settings may not work properly depending on the graphics card.

You can operate the basic functions of your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV by pressing or moving the joystick button located on the bottom of the TV.

NOTE: When you move your finger over the joystick button to the up, down, left, or right, be careful not to press the joystick button. If you press the joystick button first, you cannot adjust the volume level and saved programmes.

When the LG 42LB5610-ZC TV is turned on, press the joystick button one time. You can adjust the Menu items by moving the joystick button up, down, left, or right.

Please follow this advice to prevent the LG 42LB5610-ZC TV from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage to the screen.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that the TV originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Make sure not to hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

• When transporting the TV by hand, hold the TV as shown in the manual’s illustration.

• When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright when transporting it; never turn the TV on its side or tilt it towards the left or right.

• Do not apply excessive pressure to cause flexing/bending of the frame chassis as it may damage the screen.

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

This feature is not available for all models, but if yours supports it, follow these steps to prevent the TV from falling:

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts on the back of the TV. If there are bolts already inserted at the eye-bolts position, remove those bolts first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

CAUTION: Make sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

NOTE:

• Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely.

• Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

To mount your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV, attach an optional wall mount bracket to the rear of the TV carefully and install it on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer.

CAUTION:

• Disconnect the power first, and then move or install the TV. Otherwise, an electric shock may occur.

• If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact the local dealer or qualified personnel.

• Do not over-tighten the screws as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

• Use the screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty.

Make sure to use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard. Standard dimensions for the wall mount kits for the LG 42LB5610-ZC are described in the following table:

For model 42LB55**, 42LB56**, 42LB62** you may also need Wall Mount Spacers.

The descriptions for the remote control of your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV are as follows:

To automatically tune the programmes on your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV, go to SETTINGS > SETUP > Auto Tuning. This function automatically finds and stores all available programmes.

• If the Input Source is not connected properly, programme registration may not work.

• Auto Tuning only finds programmes that are currently broadcasting.

• If the Lock System is turned on, a pop-up window will appear asking for a password.

To select a picture mode optimized for your viewing environment or the programme on your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV, go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Picture Mode. The available modes are:

• Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness, and sharpness to display vivid images.

• Standard: Displays images in standard levels of contrast, brightness, and sharpness.

• Eco/APS: The Energy Saver feature changes settings on the TV to reduce power consumption.

• Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies or games.

• Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions by emphasizing primary colours such as white, grass, or sky blue.

• Expert 1, 2: A menu for adjusting picture quality that allows experts and amateurs to enjoy the best TV viewing. This is the adjustment menu provided for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals.

Depending on the input signal, the available range of picture modes may differ.

To calibrate the screen for each picture mode or adjust picture settings for a special screen on your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV, first select a Picture Mode, then go to SETTINGS > PICTURE > Picture Mode > Advanced Control / Expert Control. The options include:

• Dynamic Contrast: Adjusts the contrast to the optimal level according to the brightness of the image.

• Dynamic Colour: Adjusts colours to make the image appear in more natural colours.

• Skin Colour: Sets Skin colour spectrum separately to implement the skin colour as defined by the user.

• Sky Colour: Sky colour is set separately.

• Grass Colour: Natural colour spectrum (meadows, hills, etc.) can be separately set.

• Gamma: Sets the gradation curve according to the output of the picture signal in relation to the input signal.

• Colour Gamut: Selects the range of colours that can be expressed.

• Edge Enhancer: Shows clearer and distinctive yet natural edges of the video.

• Expert Pattern: Patterns used for expert adjustment.

• Colour Filter: Filters a specific colour spectrum in RGB colours to fine-tune colour saturation and hue accurately.

• Colour Temperature: Adjusts the overall tone of the screen as desired.

• Colour Management System: A system that experts use when they adjust colour with a test pattern.

Depending on the input signal or other picture settings, the range of detailed items for adjustment may differ.

SIMPLINK is a feature that enables you to control and manage various multimedia devices conveniently via the SIMPLINK menu using your TV remote. To use it:

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal and the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using an HDMI cable.

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) > SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window will appear.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

This function is only compatible with devices with the SIMPLINK logo. You need to use a high-speed HDMI® cable with CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) feature added.

SIMPLINK Function Descriptions:

• Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

• Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu to control it from the TV screen instantly.

• Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

• Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

• Sync Power on: When the equipment with SIMPLINK function connected to the HDMI terminal starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

• Speaker: Select the speaker either on the home theatre unit or the TV.

To safely remove a USB storage device from your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV, follow these steps:

1. Press the Q.MENU button on your remote.

2. Navigate to and select USB Device.

3. Select the USB storage device that you want to remove.

4. When you see a message that the USB device has been removed, you can safely separate the device from the TV.

Once a USB device has been selected for removal, it can no longer be read. Remove the USB storage device and then re-connect it if you need to use it again.

Clean your LG 42LB5610-ZC TV regularly to keep the best performance and to extend its lifespan. First, make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables.

• To remove dust or light dirt: Wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• To remove major dirt: Wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

CAUTION:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage to the screen.

• Do not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

• Do not use any chemicals as this may damage the product.

• Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

Also, remember to remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

If you cannot control the TV with the remote, please try the following solutions:

• Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.

• Check if the batteries are still working and properly installed (positive to positive, negative to negative).

If you have no image display and no sound, please check the following:

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products.

If your TV turns off suddenly, consider these possibilities:

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may be interrupted.

• Check if the Automatic Standby, Sleep Timer, or Off Time feature is activated in the TIME settings.

• If there is no signal while the TV is on, the TV will turn off automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

If you see a ‘No signal’ or ‘Invalid Format’ message when connecting your PC via HDMI, follow these steps:

• Turn the TV off and on again using the remote control.

• Reconnect the HDMI cable.

• Restart the PC with the TV on.
