To attach the stand to your LG 42LB550V-ZA TV, follow these steps:

1. Place the TV screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

2. Align the Stand Base (A) with the TV and insert it into the slot.

3. Align the Stand Base (B) with the TV and secure it.

4. Use the provided screws to fasten the stand to the TV. Depending on your specific model, you will use either M4 x L14 screws or M4 x L20 screws. The package includes 4 of the correct type for your model.

CAUTION: When attaching the stand to the TV set, place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches.

Connect your LG 42LB550V-ZA to a wall antenna socket using an RF cable (75 Ω).

NOTE:

• Use a signal splitter if you want to connect more than 2 TVs.

• If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier properly to improve the image quality.

• If the image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try to realign the antenna in the correct direction.

• An antenna cable and converter are not supplied.

• Supported DTV Audio for the LG 42LB550V-ZA includes: MPEG, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, HE-AAC.

To connect your LG 42LB550V-ZA to a satellite dish (for satellite models), use a satellite RF cable (75 Ω) to connect the “LNB Satellite IN” port on the TV to a satellite socket.

The Euro Scart connection on your LG 42LB550V-ZA transmits video and audio signals from an external device to the TV. Connect the external device and the TV set with a Euro Scart cable.

NOTE: Any Euro scart cable used must be signal shielded.

The type of signal output from the TV’s AV1 (TV Out) port depends on the current input mode:

You can connect various external devices such as HD receivers, DVD players, VCRs, audio systems, USB storage devices, PCs, and gaming devices to your LG 42LB550V-ZA.

• The external device connection may differ from the model.

• Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port.

• If you record a TV programme on a DVD recorder or VCR, make sure to connect the TV signal input cable to the TV through the DVD recorder or VCR.

• Refer to the external equipment’s manual for operating instructions.

• If you connect a gaming device to the TV, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

• In PC mode, there may be noise associated with the resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate to another rate, or adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear.

• In PC mode, some resolution settings may not work properly depending on the graphics card.

The Joystick button, located below the TV screen, allows you to operate the TV’s functions by pressing or moving it up, down, left, or right.

Basic Functions:

• Power On: When the TV is off, place your finger on the joystick button, press it once, and release it.

• Power Off: When the TV is on, press and hold the joystick button for a few seconds and release it. (If the Menu is on screen, this action will exit the Menu).

• Volume Control: Move the joystick left or right to adjust the volume.

• Programmes Control: Move the joystick up or down to scroll through saved programmes.

NOTE: When moving the joystick, be careful not to press it first, as this will prevent you from adjusting the volume or changing programmes.

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is on, press the joystick button once to open the menu. You can then adjust menu items by moving the joystick.

To prevent scratches or damage and ensure safe transportation, please follow this advice:

• CAUTION: Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

• When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright during transport; never turn it on its side or tilt it left or right.

• Do not apply excessive pressure that may cause the frame chassis to flex or bend, as this may damage the screen.

Mounting on a table:

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

Securing the TV to a wall (This feature is not available for all models):

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

CAUTION: Make sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

NOTE: Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely. Brackets, bolts and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

To mount your LG 42LB550V-ZA, attach an optional wall mount bracket to the rear of the TV and install it on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer. Ensure you use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard.

CAUTION:

• Disconnect the power first, then move or install the TV to avoid electric shock.

• If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount.

• Do not over-tighten the screws, as this may cause damage and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries from misuse are not covered by the warranty.

Wall Mounting Bracket Specifications for LG 42LB550V-ZA (42LB55** models):

NOTE: For 42LB55** models, you may need to use the included Wall Mount Spacers.

Below are the functions for the buttons on the remote control for LB55** series models like the LG 42LB550V-ZA. Always point the remote control toward the remote control sensor on the TV.

To automatically tune the programmes on your LG 42LB550V-ZA, navigate to SETTINGS → SETUP → Auto Tuning. This function automatically finds and stores available programmes.

• If the Input Source is not connected properly, programme registration may not work.

• Auto Tuning only finds programmes that are currently broadcasting.

• If the Lock System is turned on, a pop-up window will appear asking for a password.

To select a picture mode on your LG 42LB550V-ZA, go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode. Select the mode optimized for your viewing environment or the programme.

• Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness, and sharpness to display vivid images.

• Standard: Displays images in standard levels of contrast, brightness, and sharpness.

• Eco/APS: The Energy Saver feature changes settings on the TV to reduce power consumption.

• Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies or games.

• Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions by emphasizing primary colours such as white, grass, or sky blue.

• Expert 1, 2: A menu for adjusting picture quality that allows experts and amateurs to enjoy the best TV viewing. This is the adjustment menu provided for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals. (ISF logo can only be used on ISF-certified TVs.)

SIMPLINK is a feature that enables you to control and manage various multimedia devices conveniently via the SIMPLINK menu.

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal and the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using an HDMI cable.

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) → SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window will appear.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK function descriptions:

• Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

• Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu to control it from the TV screen instantly.

• Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

• Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

• Sync Power on: When equipment with SIMPLINK function connected to an HDMI terminal starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

• Speaker: Select speaker either on the home theatre unit or the TV.

Note: This function is only compatible with devices with the SIMPLINK logo. To use the SIMPLINK function, you need to use a high-speed HDMI® cable (with CEC feature added).

To perform a factory reset, navigate to SETTINGS → OPTION → Factory Reset. This will delete all stored information and reset the TV settings to their original factory state. The TV will turn itself off and back on to complete the process.

• When the Lock System is in place, a pop-up window appears and asks for your password.

• Do not turn off the power during initialization.

To safely remove a USB storage device, press Q.MENU on your remote, select USB Device, and then select the device you want to remove. When you see a message that the USB device has been removed, you can then physically separate the device from the TV.

Note: Once a USB device has been selected for removal, it can no longer be read. You will need to remove it and re-connect it to use it again.

• If the USB storage device has a built-in auto recognition program or uses its own driver, it may not work.

• Some USB storage devices may not work or may work incorrectly.

• Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

• For external USB HDDs, it is recommended that you use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5 V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

• It is recommended that you use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

• If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on. For more information, refer to the user manual of the USB HDD.

• Data in the USB storage device can be damaged, so be sure to back up important files to other devices. Data maintenance is the user’s responsibility.

Clean your TV regularly to keep the best performance and to extend its lifespan.

CAUTION: Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first. When the TV is left unattended and unused for a long time, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet to prevent possible damage from lightning or power surges.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand:

• To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

CAUTION:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

• Do not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in scratches and image distortions.

• Do not use any chemicals as this may damage the product.

• Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.
