Please follow these safety precautions carefully before using the product:

Do not place the TV and/or remote control in environments exposed to direct sunlight, high humidity (like a bathroom), near heat sources, kitchen counters, or areas exposed to rain or wind.

Do not place the product where it might be exposed to dust, as this may cause a fire hazard.

The Mains Plug is the connecting/disconnecting device. Ensure it remains readily accessible.

Do not touch the power plug with wet hands. If the cord pin is wet or dusty, dry and wipe it completely.

Connect the Mains cable to a compliant AC mains socket with a Grounded earth pin (unless the device is not grounded on earth).

Insert the power cable plug completely into the wall socket to prevent fire ignition.

Ensure the power cord does not contact hot objects like a heater.

Do not place heavy objects or the product itself on power cables.

Bend the antenna cable between the inside and outside of the building to prevent rain from flowing in.

When mounting the TV on a wall, neatly install and isolate cabling from the rear of the TV to prevent electric shock or fire hazard.

Do not plug too many electrical devices into a single multiple electrical outlet to avoid overheating.

Do not drop the product or let it fall over when connecting external devices.

Keep anti-moisture packing material or vinyl packing out of the reach of children.

Do not let children climb or cling onto the TV.

Dispose of used batteries carefully to ensure a small child does not consume them.

Do not insert any metal objects between the power cable plug and the input Wall Socket.

Do not put or store inflammable substances near the product.

Never touch the product or antenna during a thunder or lightning storm.

Do not disassemble, repair or modify the product at your own discretion.

Unplug the TV if you do not intend to use it for a long period of time.

Viewing Environment and Time: When watching 3D content, take 5 – 15 minute breaks every hour. Viewing 3D content for a long period may cause headache, dizziness, fatigue, or eye strain.

Photosensitive Seizure or Chronic Illness:

Some users may experience a seizure or other abnormal symptoms when exposed to flashing lights or particular patterns from 3D content.

Do not watch 3D videos if you feel nausea, are pregnant, or have a chronic illness such as epilepsy, cardiac disorder, or blood pressure disease.

3D content is not recommended for those who suffer from stereo blindness or stereo anomaly.

If you have strabismus (cross-eyed), amblyopia (weak eyesight), or astigmatism, you may have trouble sensing depth and easily feel fatigue due to double images. It is advised to take frequent breaks.

If your eyesight varies between your right and left eye, revise your eyesight prior to watching 3D content.

Symptoms requiring discontinuation of watching 3D content:

Do not watch 3D content when you feel fatigued from lack of sleep, overwork, or drinking.

If you experience symptoms like headache, eyeball pain, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, blurriness, discomfort, or double images, stop watching 3D content and get enough rest. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.

Viewing Distance: Maintain a distance of at least twice the screen diagonal length when watching 3D content. If you feel discomfort, move further away from the TV.

Viewing Age:

Infants/Children: Usage of 3D content for children under the age of 6 is prohibited. Children under 10 may overreact, so special monitoring is required. Children have greater binocular disparity than adults, perceiving more stereoscopic depth.

Teenagers: Teenagers under 19 may react with sensitivity to light stimulation. Advise them to refrain from watching 3D content for a long time when tired.

Elderly: The elderly may perceive less 3D effect. Do not sit closer to the TV than the recommended distance.

Cautions when using the 3D glasses:

Make sure to use LG 3D glasses for proper viewing.

Do not use 3D glasses instead of normal glasses, sunglasses, or protective goggles.

Using modified 3D glasses may cause eye strain or image distortion.

Do not keep your 3D glasses in extremely high or low temperatures to avoid deformation.

The 3D glasses are fragile and easily scratched. Always use a soft, clean cloth when wiping the lenses. Do not scratch the lenses with sharp objects or clean them with chemicals.

Your TV’s OSD (On Screen Display) may differ slightly from that shown in the manual.

Available menus and options may differ from the input source or product model you are using.

The TV can be placed in standby mode to reduce power consumption. Turn the TV off if it will not be watched for some time to reduce energy consumption.

Energy consumed during use can be significantly reduced if the level of brightness is reduced, lowering the overall running cost.

Do not use any unapproved items to ensure safety and product life span. Any damages or injuries from using unapproved items are not covered by the warranty.

Some models have a thin film attached to the screen that must not be removed.

For an optimal connection, HDMI cables and USB devices should have bezels less than 10 mm thick and 18 mm wide. Use an extension cable that supports USB 2.0 if the USB cable or USB memory stick does not fit into your TV’s USB port.

You can operate the TV functions by pressing or moving the joystick button up, down, left, or right. The joystick button is located below the TV screen.

Basic Functions:

Power On: When the TV is turned off, place your finger on the joystick button and press it once and release it.

Power Off: When the TV is turned on, place your finger on the joystick button and press it for a few seconds and release it. (If the Menu button is on the screen, pressing and holding the button will exit the Menu.)

Volume Control: Move the joystick button left or right to adjust the volume level.

Programmes Control: Move the joystick button up or down to scroll through the saved programmes.

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is turned on, press the joystick button one time. You can adjust the Menu items by moving the joystick button up, down, left, or right.

TV off: Turns the power off.

Settings: Accesses the main menu.

Close: Clears on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.

Input List: Changes the input source.

Please note the following advice to prevent the TV from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation:

Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

It is recommended to move the TV in its original box or packing material.

Before moving or lifting, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

When transporting a large TV, there should be at least 2 people.

When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

Keep the TV upright; never turn it on its side or tilt it left or right.

Do not apply excessive pressure to cause flexing/bending of the frame chassis as it may damage the screen.

1. Lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

2. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

This feature may not be available for all models.

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts on the back of the TV. If there are bolts already in the eye-bolts position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Make sure to keep the rope horizontal with the flat surface.

CAUTION: Make sure that children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

NOTE: Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely. Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

Attach an optional wall mount bracket to the rear of the TV and install it on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer.

CAUTION:

Disconnect the power first, and then move or install the TV. Otherwise, electric shock may occur.

If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact your local dealer or qualified personnel.

Do not overtighten the screws, as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries by misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty.

Make sure to use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard. Standard dimensions for the wall mount kits are described in the following table:

(POWER): Turns the TV on or off.

TV/RAD: Selects Radio, TV and DTV programme.

SUBTITLE: Recalls your preferred subtitle in digital mode.

GUIDE: Shows programme guide.

AV MODE: Selects an AV mode.

INPUT: Changes the input source.

Number buttons: Enters numbers.

LIST: Accesses the saved programme list.

Q.VIEW: Returns to the previously viewed programme.

+/-: Adjusts the volume level.

FAV: Accesses your favourite programme list.

3D: Used for viewing 3D video.

MUTE: Mutes all sounds.

P (up/down): Scrolls through the saved programmes.

PAGE (up/down): Moves to the previous or next screen.

Teletext buttons (TEXT / T.OPT): These buttons are used for teletext.

INFO: Views the information of the current programme and screen.

SETTINGS: Accesses the main menus.

Q.MENU: Accesses the Quick menus.

Navigation buttons (up/down/left/right): Scrolls through menus or options.

OK: Selects menus or options and confirms your input.

BACK: Returns to the previous level.

EXIT: Clears on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.

AD: By pressing the AD button, audio descriptions function will be enabled.

REC: Starts to record and displays record menu. (Only Time MachineReady supported model)

Control buttons (play, pause, etc.): Controls the MY MEDIA menus, Time MachineReady control or the SIMPLINK compatible devices (USB, SIMPLINK or Time MachineReady).

Colour buttons: These access special functions in some menus. (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue)

To automatically tune the programmes, go to SETTINGS → SETUP → Auto Tuning.

If the Input Source is not connected properly, programme registration may not work.

Auto Tuning only finds programmes that are currently broadcasting.

If Lock System is turned on, a pop-up window will appear asking for a password.

Picture Wizard: Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Wizard III. This feature calibrates and adjusts for optimum picture quality using the remote control without expensive pattern devices.

Picture Mode: Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode to select a mode optimized for your viewing environment.

Vivid: Heightens contrast, brightness and sharpness.

Standard: Displays images in standard levels of contrast, brightness and sharpness.

Eco/APS: The Energy Saver feature changes settings to reduce power consumption.

Cinema/Game: Displays the optimum picture for movies and games.

Sports: Optimizes the video image for high and dynamic actions.

Expert 1, 2: Menu for adjusting picture quality that allows experts to enjoy the best TV viewing. This is the adjustment menu provided for ISF-certified picture tuning professionals.

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode → Advanced Control / Expert Control to calibrate the screen for each picture mode.

Dynamic Contrast: Adjusts the contrast to the optimal level according to image brightness.

Dynamic Colour: Adjusts colours to appear more natural.

Skin Colour: Sets Skin colour spectrum separately.

Sky Colour: Sky colour is set separately.

Grass Colour: Natural colour spectrum can be separately set.

Gamma: Sets the gradation curve according to the output of the picture signal.

Colour Gamut: Selects the range of colours that can be expressed.

Edge Enhancer: Shows clearer and distinctive yet natural edges of the video.

Colour Filter: Filters a specific colour spectrum in RGB colours to fine-tune saturation and hue.

Colour Temperature: Adjusts the overall tone of the screen as desired.

Colour Management System: A system for experts to adjust colour with a test pattern, selecting from six colour areas (Red / Green / Blue / Cyan / Magenta / Yellow).

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Picture Mode → Picture Option to adjust detailed settings for images.

Noise Reduction: Eliminates noise in the picture.

MPEG Noise Reduction: Eliminates noise generated while creating digital picture signals.

Black Level: Adjusts the brightness and contrast to suit the black level of the input picture.

Real Cinema: Optimizes the screen for movie viewing.

Motion Eye Care/SUPER Energy Saving: Saves power consumption by adjusting brightness corresponding to image movement.

Go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → TruMotion. This feature corrects images to display smoother motion sequences.

Smooth: De-judder/De-blur working on a higher range in auto mode.

Clear: De-judder/De-blur working on a middle range in auto mode.

User: De-judder / De-blur can be set manually. De-judder adjusts juddering of the screen. De-blur adjusts and eliminates blurring of the screen.

To use the Energy Saving feature, go to SETTINGS → PICTURE → Energy Saving. This reduces power consumption by adjusting screen brightness.

Auto: The TV sensor detects ambient lighting and automatically adjusts screen brightness.

Off: Turns off the Energy Saving mode.

Minimum / Medium / Maximum: Applies the pre-set Energy Saving mode.

Screen Off: The screen is turned off and only sound is played. Press any button except the Power button on the remote to turn the screen back on.

To use TV speaker: Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → TV Speaker. Sound is output through the TV speaker.

To use External Speaker: Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → External Speaker (Optical). Sound is output through the speaker connected to the optical port. SimpLink is supported.

To use Digital Sound Out: Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → External Speaker (Optical) → Digital Sound Out to set up the output.

LG audio device: Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → LG Sound Sync (Optical). Connect an LG audio device to the optical digital audio output port.

Headphone: Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → Headphone. Sound is output through the headphone port.

AV Sync. Adjust: Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → AV Sync. Adjust. Synchronizes video and audio. If you set it to ON, you can adjust the sound output (TV speakers or SPDIF) to the screen image.

SIMPLINK allows you to control and manage various multimedia devices via the SIMPLINK menu.

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal to the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal with an HDMI cable.

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) → SIMPLINK. The SIMPLINK menu window appears.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK function description:

Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device via the SIMPLINK menu for instant control.

Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote control.

Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

Sync Power on: When the equipment with SIMPLINK function starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

Speaker: Select speaker either on the home theatre unit or the TV.

To set password: Go to SETTINGS → LOCK → Set Password. This sets or changes the TV password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To return Factory Reset: Go to SETTINGS → OPTION → Factory Reset. All stored information is deleted and TV settings are reset. The TV will turn off and back on. Do not turn off the power during initialization.

Go to Q.MENU → USB Device. Select the USB storage device you want to remove. When you see a message that the USB device has been removed, separate the device from the TV. Once a USB device has been selected for removal, it can no longer be read. Remove the USB storage device and then re-connect it.

If the USB storage device has a built-in auto recognition program or uses its own driver, it may not work.

Some USB storage devices may not work or may work incorrectly.

Use only USB storage devices formatted with the Windows FAT32 or NTFS File System.

For external USB HDDs, it is recommended that you use devices with a rated voltage of less than 5 V and a rated current of less than 500 mA.

It is recommended that you use USB memory sticks of 32 GB or less and USB HDDs of 1 TB or less.

If a USB HDD with a power-saving function does not work properly, turn the power off and on. For more information, refer to the user manual of the USB HDD.

Data in the USB storage device can be damaged, so be sure to back up important files to other devices. Data maintenance is the user’s responsibility.

Clean your TV regularly to keep the best performance and to extend the product lifespan.

CAUTION: Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first. When the TV is left unattended for a long time, disconnect the power cord to prevent damage from lightning or power surges.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand:

To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

CAUTION:

Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

Do not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object.

Do not use any chemicals as this may damage the product.

Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

Power cord: Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

Video, which is input as below media contents is switched into the 3D screen automatically. The method for 3D digital broadcast may differ depending on the signal environment. If video is not switched automatically into 3D, manually convert the settings to view 3D images.
