How does the Ledvion Infrared Motion Sensor work?
The product adopts a good sensitivity detector and integrated circuit. It gathers automatism, convenience, safety, saving-energy, and practical functions. It utilizes the infrared energy from humans as a control-signal source and can start the load at once when a human enters the detection field. It can identify day and night automatically. It is easy to install and use widely.
What are the installation options for the sensor?
The sensor can be installed on the wall directly or on the ceiling.
What installation advice should be followed for the motion sensor?
As the detector responds to changes in temperature, avoid the following situations:
Avoid pointing the detector towards objects with highly reflective surfaces, such as mirrors etc.
Avoid mounting the detector near heat sources, such as heating vents, air conditioning units, light etc.
Avoid pointing the detector towards objects that may move in the wind, such as curtains, tall plants etc.
What safety precautions must be taken during the installation of the motion sensor?
Warning. Danger of death through electric shock!
Must be installed by a professional electrician.
Disconnect power source.
Cover or shield any adjacent live components.
Ensure that the device cannot be switched on.
Check power supply is disconnected.
How do I connect the motion sensor?
1. Loosen the screw on the bottom and unload the bottom.
2. Pass the power wire through the hole with gasket in the bottom.
3. Connect the power wire into the connection-wire column according to the connection-wire diagram. The L (BROWN) wire connects to the IN~ L terminal, the N (BLUE) wire connects to the IN~ N terminal, and the L’ (RED) wire (output to load) connects to the L terminal of the LOAD. The other terminal of the LOAD connects to the N (Neutral) terminal.
4. Fix the bottom with inflated screw on the selected position.
5. Install back the sensor on the bottom, tighten the screw and then test it.
What is the recommended installation height for the sensor?
The recommended installation height is 1.8 – 2.5m.
How can the sensor identify day and night?
The consumer can adjust the working state in different ambient light. It can work in the daytime and at night when it is adjusted on the ‘sun’ position (max). It can work in the ambient light when it is less than 3 LUX when it is adjusted on the ‘3’ position (min). As for the adjustment pattern, please refer to the testing pattern.
How does the time-delay function work?
Time-delay is added continually. When the sensor receives a second induction signal within the first induction period, it will restart the time from that moment. The time delay can be set from a minimum of 10 sec ± 3 sec to a maximum of 15 min ± 2 min.
How do I adjust the ambient light (LUX) setting?
The ambient light setting is adjustable from <3 LUX to 2000 LUX using the LUX knob. To make the sensor work in the daytime and at night, adjust the LUX knob to the 'sun' position (maximum). To make the sensor work only in ambient light less than 3 LUX (darkness), adjust the LUX knob to the '3' position (minimum).
How do I adjust the time delay (TIME) setting?
The time delay can be adjusted using the TIME knob. The minimum setting is 10s (10 seconds ± 3 seconds) and the maximum is 15min (15 minutes ± 2 minutes). Other settings include 30s, 90s, 3min, and 7min.
How do I test the motion sensor?
1. Turn the LUX knob clockwise to the maximum (sun) position. Turn the TIME knob anti-clockwise to the minimum (10s) position.
2. Switch on the power. The sensor and its connected lamp will have no signal at the beginning. After a warm-up period of 30 seconds, the sensor can start to work.
3. If the sensor receives an induction signal, the lamp will turn on.
4. If there is no further induction signal, the load should stop working within 10 seconds ± 3 seconds, and the lamp will turn off.
5. Turn the LUX knob anti-clockwise to the minimum (3) position. If the ambient light is more than 3 LUX, the sensor will not work, and the lamp will stop working too. If the ambient light is less than 3 LUX (darkness), the sensor will work. Under no induction signal condition, the sensor should stop working within 10 seconds ± 3 seconds.
Note: when testing in daylight, please turn the LUX knob to the (SUN) position, otherwise the sensor lamp could not work!
What is the detection range and distance of the sensor?
The detection range is 180°/360°. The detection distance is 12m maximum (at <24°C).
What areas can the sensor detect?
The sensor can detect the front side, bottom side, and back side. The detection pattern shows a range of up to 12m in front and approximately 3m to the sides/back, depending on the installation height of 1.8-2.5m.
What is the rated load for the sensor?
The rated load is a maximum of 1200W (for resistive loads, e.g., incandescent bulbs) and a maximum of 600W (for inductive loads, e.g., energy-saving lamps).
What should I do if the load does not work?
a. Please check if the connection of the power source and load is correct.
b. Please check if the load is good.
c. Please check if the settings of the working light correspond to the ambient light.
What should I do if the sensitivity of the sensor is poor?
a. Please check if there is any hindrance in front of the detector to affect it to receive the signals.
b. Please check if the ambient temperature is too high.
c. Please check if the induction signal source is in the detection field.
d. Please check if the installation height corresponds to the height required in the instruction (1.8 – 2.5m).
e. Please check if the moving orientation is correct.
What should I do if the sensor cannot shut off the load automatically?
a. Please check if there is continual signal in the detection field.
b. Please check if the time delay is set to the maximum position (15 min ± 2 min).
c. Please check if the power corresponds to the instruction.
