How to install the Indicator Seal?
To install the Indicator Seal, follow these steps:
1. Locate the Indicator in a convenient place on the vehicle.
2. Place the template in position and center punch in 8 places.
3. Drill holes as shown on the hole template. For the screw holes, there are 4 places for 3/16″ diameter holes. For the main opening, there are 4 places for 1/2″ diameter holes. The overall dimensions for the hole template are 3.900 inches by 3.250 inches, with hole centers at 2.375 inches and 1.850 inches from respective edges.
4. Cut out the opening connecting the 1/2” diameter holes together. This cut is done in 4 places.
5. Strip the jacket 3” from the cable and insert the cable through the seal so the jacket penetrates past the grommet seal.
6. Connect the wiring to the indicator connector in accordance with the indicator installation procedure.
7. Install the assembly as shown in the diagram, which includes the indicator, seal, #8 screw, #8 nut, and lock washer.
8. Insert the (4) #8 screws and tighten. CAUTION: Do not over tighten because you will bend the plastic bezel and break the watertight seal.
