How does the Model 091-103-012 Time Delay Relay operate?
The Model 091-103-012 Time Delay Relay operates in a +12 volt electrical system. The relay contacts transfer immediately upon the application of an input signal and remain closed after the signal is removed for the length of the specified time interval. This functionality is known as Delay on Drop-Out (DODO). The output relay contacts are capable of switching 30 amperes.
How is the time delay interval adjusted?
An adjustment is provided to vary the time delay interval at installation using the Time Delay Adjust screw.
What are the available time delay settings?
The range of output times (Tmin, Tmax) as well as the factory setting (Tset) are shown in the table below.
| Model | Tmin | Tmax | Tset |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 1.25 min | 6 min | 3 min |
| B | 6 min | 27 min | 15 min |
| C | 12 min | 60 min | 30 min |
| D | 4 sec | 15 sec | 10 sec |
| E | 2 sec | 3.3 sec | 2 sec |
What is the purpose of the run/calibrate switch?
The run/calibrate switch speeds up the time delay interval by a factor of 128 to facilitate easier setup. When in the calibrate position, 1 second is equal to 128 seconds in the run position.
What does the LED indicator signify?
The LED indicator, located adjacent to the terminal strip, illuminates whenever the relay is energized.
How is the Time Delay Relay typically installed in a lighting control circuit?
For a typical installation in a lighting control circuit:
1. Connect +12 volts to terminal 1.
2. Connect Ground to terminal 2.
3. The Lighting Circuit is controlled by the relay’s Normally Open (N.O.) and Common (COM.) contacts.
4. The COM. contact is connected to a +12 V source from the lighting circuit breaker, and the N.O. contact is connected to the Lighting Circuit.
5. The Lighting Control Switch is wired to control the input to the relay.
In this configuration, the lights will remain illuminated for the set time delay interval after the switch is turned off.
