1. In this state, turn fully the lock lever in the arrow direction through the hole on the loading chassis bottom.
2. While holding the lock lever, rotate the cam gear anticlockwise until the cam gear rib engages with the clamp lever.
3. After that, push forward the CD slide holder.
Note 2:
1. After removing the connector for the optical pickup from the connector, wrap the conductive aluminium foil around the front end of the connector so as to protect the optical pickup from electrostatic damage.
Note 3:
1. Be careful not to break the claw of the CD mechanism.
2. When fixing back the cam gear assembly, let it lock by front movement.

After entering the CD Test Mode, you can perform the following operations:
• The OPEN/CLOSE operation is manual.
• The << I<<, >>I >>, <<, >> buttons allow you to slide the pickup.
• Pressing the << PLAY >> key: The unit will perform a TOC IL (Table of Contents Initial Load) and then normal play. You can use the remote controller’s <<DISC 1>> (Track 4), <<DISC 2>> (Track 9), and <<DISC 3>> (Track 15) keys to directly appoint a track number.
• Pressing the << MEMORY >> key sequence:
1. Press << MEMORY >>: Laser turns ON.
2. Press << MEMORY >> again: Tracking OFF play begins at that specific point.
3. Press << MEMORY >> again: Tracking ON play begins from that specific point.
4. Press << MEMORY >> again: The adjustment result will automatically display for 2 seconds each: “FOFF_XX”, “TOFF_XX”, “TBAL_XX”, “TGAN_XX”, “FGAN_XX”, “RFLS_XX” (where XX is a Hex value).
• Pressing the << STOP >> key: This stops the current operation. Note that sliding the pickup with the arrow keys must only be done in STOP mode.

To perform a software reset (ALL CLEAR), enter the corresponding test mode. The system will perform the following actions:
• All function conditions will be initialized.
• The unit will jump to A operation in case of power ON.
• After displaying “CLEAR_AL”, the power will turn off.
• Forwarding condition is set for the CD changer.
• Forwarding condition is set for the TAPE mecha.
How do I initialize the CD changer on the KENWOOD RXD-355?
To initialize the CD changer (PRODUCTION INITIALIZE), enter the corresponding test mode. The SET will be set to “shipping” condition, which performs the following:
• All function conditions are initialized.
• CLEAR ALL TUNER PRESET MEMORY.
• CLOCK INITIAL.
• CLEAR CD MEMORY.
• Initialize the CD changer mecha and compact cassette mecha.
• For CD changer mecha, set the CD mecha in upward condition.
When initializing, the display will show “WAIT” and will not accept any changes in input. After the “shipping condition” setting is ended, “FINISHED” is displayed and any key input will be prohibited. If there are any troubles and “shipping condition” cannot be set, “ERR” will be displayed.
