Before mounting or wiring, be sure to remove the wire from the battery minus terminal to prevent shorts or fires.

When extending the ignition, battery, or ground wires, use automotive-grade wires or other wires with a 0.75mm2 (AWG18) or more to prevent wire deterioration and damage to the wire coating.

To prevent a short circuit, never put or leave any metallic objects (such as coins or metal tools) inside the speaker.

If the unit generates smoke or an abnormal smell, immediately switch the power OFF and contact your dealer or nearest service station.

POWER OFF! Connect the illumination lamp-equipped speakers to DC 12V, negative ground.

Do not attempt to open or modify the unit, as this could cause a fire hazard or malfunction.

After taking the unit out of the polyethylene bag, dispose of the bag out of the reach of children to prevent the hazard of suffocation.

Installation and wiring of the product requires expert skill and experience. To ensure safety, have a dealer or specialist perform the installation and wiring.

Do not install the speaker in a spot exposed to direct sunlight or excessive heat or humidity.

Do not install the speakers in locations which may be subject to water or moisture, or in unstable locations subject to dust.

If the fuse blows, after checking for a short in the wiring cord, replace it with a fuse of the stipulated size (amperage) as displayed on the fuse box. Using fuses other than the stipulated size can cause fires.

To replace the fuse, refer to the vehicle instruction manual. To prevent a short circuit when replacing a fuse, disconnect the wiring harness first.

Do not use gasoline, naphtha, or any type of solvent to clean the speaker. Clean by wiping with a soft, dry cloth.

Connect the speaker wires to appropriate speaker connectors separately. Sharing the negative wire of the speaker or grounding speaker wires to the metal body of the car can cause this unit to fail.

Do not connect cables and leads to both RCA cord input jacks and the speaker input terminals simultaneously, as this may cause malfunction or damage.

When making a hole under a seat, inside the trunk, or elsewhere in the vehicle, check that there is nothing hazardous on the opposite side such as a gasoline tank, brake pipe, or wiring harness, and be careful not to cause scratches or other damage.

For ground wire mounting, do not fasten the wire to an airbag, steering or brake line system or other critical safety unit bolts or nuts, as this can cause accidents.

When mounting, be sure to mount in a place that will not interfere with driving or be dangerous to passengers during sudden braking etc., which could cause injury or accidents.

After installing the unit, check to make sure that electrical equipment such as the brake lamps, turn signal lamps and windshield wipers operate normally.

For EU countries that have adopted separate waste collection systems, products with the symbol (crossed-out wheeled bin) cannot be disposed of as household waste.

Old electrical and electronic equipment should be recycled at a facility capable of handling these items and their waste by-products. Contact your local authority for details in locating a recycle facility nearest to you. Proper recycling and waste disposal will help conserve resources whilst preventing detrimental effects on our health and the environment.

Connect the subwoofer to the front or rear output cords of the center unit. Refer to the instruction manuals for all connected components.

A typical connection involves:

1. Connecting the 10-pin connector cord to the POWER/SPEAKER INPUT terminal on the subwoofer.

2. Connecting the speaker input wires (White, White/Black, Gray, Gray/Black) to the corresponding front or rear speaker outputs of the center unit.

3. Connecting the Yellow wire to the battery (BATT) via the car fuse box. If buzzing noise is heard when the engine is running, attach a commercially available line noise filter to this power lead.

4. Connecting the Black wire (GND) with a screw to an unpainted metal part of the vehicle. This is critical for operation and to prevent damage.

5. Connecting the Blue/White wire to the power control terminal (P.CONT) on the center unit. If there is no power control terminal, connect this wire to the accessory line (ignition key switch ACC position line).

6. Ensure the fuse (10A) is correctly in place in the wiring harness.

Connect the subwoofer to the subwoofer output (non-fader output) or the RCA jacks for the front output of the center unit.

Notes:

• You will need to purchase a commercially available RCA cord separately.

• Use the provided RCA cord (part ⑨) to connect between the subwoofer’s LINE IN terminal and the separately purchased RCA cord.

• If the center unit incorporates a DSP, connect the subwoofer to the non-fader output or the front RCA jacks. Do not connect to the rear RCA jacks, as the low-frequency effect may be attenuated.

• If the center unit has a single RCA jack, use a Y-adapter cord to convert it to two RCA jacks. The subwoofer output will be halved if the conversion cord is not used.

Cautions:

• Under any circumstances, never apply inputs to both the speaker level inputs (hashed terminals) and the RCA LINE IN terminals simultaneously.

• Cover any unused terminals with insulation tape to avoid short circuits.

First, check the sound while the speaker is connected preliminarily before fixing it in its final position. Install it in a location that does not interfere with driving or vehicle movement.

1. Attach the two Fixtures A (part ①) to the bottom of the speaker unit securely using four Machine screws (part ④). Be careful that the connected cords do not get caught between the speaker unit and the fixtures.

2. Drill four pilot holes for ø3.6 mm screws on the sheet metal section of the vehicle.

3. Attach the speaker unit to the vehicle using four Tapping screws (part ⑤).

Caution: The portion of the unit where the fixtures are attached becomes slightly hotter than other portions because it functions as a heat radiator.

First, check the sound while the speaker is connected preliminarily before fixing it in its final position. Install it in a location that does not interfere with driving or vehicle movement.

1. Adjust the installation height so that the speaker unit will not rattle. Attach the two Brackets B (part ②) to the sides of the subwoofer using six Machine screws (part ④).

2. Drill six pilot holes for ø3.6 mm screws on the sheet metal section of the vehicle.

3. Attach the speaker unit to the vehicle using six Tapping screws (part ⑤).

Install the remote control unit on the vehicle using the provided Velcro tape (part ⑦).

1. Clean the installation position of any dirt before attaching the tape.

2. Attach the harder surface of the Velcro tape to the vehicle’s surface.

3. Attach the softer surface of the Velcro tape to the rear panel of the remote control unit.

Caution: Install the remote control unit in a position that does not interfere with driving operations. Avoid installing it in a place subject to direct sunlight or direct hot wind from the heater, as this may degrade the product and cause a fire hazard. Note that once the Velcro tape is attached to the remote control unit, it cannot be accommodated in the main unit.

1. FREQUENCY control knob: Turn this knob to adjust the cut-off frequency. Frequencies higher than the selected frequency (between 50Hz and 120Hz) are cut off. This adjusts the balance between the bass from your main speakers and the bass from this unit.

2. LEVEL control knob: Turn this knob to adjust the input sensitivity, which controls the volume of the low frequencies to the desired level.

3. PHASE switch: The low frequency tone may vary depending on the unit’s position or orientation. Adjust this by changing the position of the PHASE switch. Set this switch to either 0° (normal phase) or 180° (reverse phase) according to your liking.

Caution: Be sure to replace with the same capacity (amperage) as displayed on the fuse. This product uses a 10A fuse.

Removal:

1. Open the cover on the wiring harness fuse holder.

2. Grasp the old fuse with pliers and pull it up.

Insertion:

1. Insert the new 10A fuse gently into the fuse holder and push it in all the way with your finger.

2. Close the cover.

Please check the following possible causes and remedies:

• Cause: The fuse is blown.
Remedy: Check the (+)/(-) polarity of the power cord and that the cords are not shorted, then replace with a fuse with the rated capacity (10A).

• Cause: The remote control cord is unplugged.
Remedy: Plug the cord into the REMOTE terminal on the subwoofer.

• Cause: The power supply pin (yellow) of the 10-pin connection cord is not connected.
Remedy: Connect the cord correctly by referring to the connection example.

• Cause: The power control pin (blue/white) of the 10-pin connection cord is not connected.
Remedy: Connect the cord correctly by referring to the connection example.

• Cause: The 10-pin connector is not plugged in completely.
Remedy: Insert the connector all the way in.

• Cause: The grounding pin (black) of the 10-pin connection cord is not connected.
Remedy: Attach the grounding terminal to the metallic section of the vehicle (not a coated surface) by tightly screwing it.

• Cause: The negative (-) cable of the car battery is disconnected.
Remedy: Check the connections of all cords, then connect the (-) cable to the battery.

If there is no sound, please check the following:

• Cause: The attenuator of the center unit is set to ON.
Remedy: Switch the attenuator OFF.

• Cause: The LEVEL control is set to the MIN position.
Remedy: Increase the volume to an optimum level using the LEVEL control knob on the remote.

• Cause: The speaker cords are connected improperly.
Remedy: Connect the cords correctly by referring to the connection example.

• Cause: Connection terminals are connected improperly.
Remedy: Insert the connectors or jacks all the way into the terminals.

• Cause: The remote control cord is unplugged.
Remedy: Plug the cord into the REMOTE terminal.

Cause: The input level is set to low.

Remedy: Turn the LEVEL control knob on the remote and set the input level to an optimum level.

Cause: The input level is set to high.

Remedy: Turn the LEVEL control knob on the remote and set the input level to an optimum level.

Please check the following possible causes and remedies:

• Cause: The speaker cords are connected with incorrect positive (+)/negative (-) polarity.
Remedy: Connect the cords correctly by referring to the connection example.

• Cause: The grounding pin (black) of the 10-pin connection cord is poorly contacted.
Remedy: Attach the grounding terminal to the metallic section of the vehicle (not a coated surface) by tightly screwing it.

• Cause: The balance between the front speakers or between those and the rear speakers are not well adjusted.
Remedy: Adjust the tone balance by switching the PHASE switch to 0° or 180° as required.
