What should I do when I first receive the unit regarding battery and power?

The unit may arrive with the internal battery partially charged. Before connection to the mains, switch the unit On and see if the Power LED indicator lights up. If it doesn’t you will need to charge the battery before you can use the unit without it being attached to the mains. Always use the supplied power supply.

How do I prepare the unit for operation?

Before operation ensure that the volume controls, the echo control and the mic volume controls are all turned fully anti-clockwise. The unit is now ready to use.

How do I charge the internal battery?

If the unit is connected to the mains but not in use and the power switch is in the Off position, the internal battery will be re-charged from the mains supply. The red Battery charging indicator LED will be lit when charging.

How do I set up and use the VHF wireless microphone?

Insert the batteries into the handheld microphone (ensure that the terminals of the batteries match to the mics to observe the correct polarity).

With the Wireless mic volume control turned down, press the microphone on/off power button so that is in the On position.

Gently increase the wireless mic volume control, testing the microphone (by speaking into it) for output through the speaker.

How can I avoid feedback when using the wireless microphone?

Take care not to incur “feedback” (a screeching sound that is heard through the speaker) by keeping the microphone at a sensible distance from the speaker and pointing it away from the speaker.

How can I adjust the sound for the wireless microphone?

To add some echo to the mics, adjust the echo control. To add or subtract bass and treble from the sound, use the Bass and Treble EQ adjustment controls.

What should I do with the wireless microphone when not in use?

If you are not using the microphone, switch it off to save battery life.

How can I connect external microphones to the unit?

The unit come supplied with external inputs as well as the built-in wireless. 6.3mm jack inputs are provided to connect external wired or wireless microphones, which are both controlled using the Mic volume control.

How can I connect other audio sources like CD or MP3 players?

Stereo RCA phono line inputs are also included on the unit. These can be used to attach line input audio sources such as CD players or MP3 players (e.g. iPods or smart phones).

How can I get an audio output from the unit?

Stereo RCA phono line outputs are also included on the unit and these will supply an overall mixed output.

How does the built-in digital media player work?

The units come with a built-in digital media player. These are straight forward media players that will play from units attached to either of the built-in USB or SD card sockets.

What are the functions of the media player control buttons?

The media player control buttons work as follows:

TWS button: True wireless linking.

Mode button: selects the mode of the media player. See Bluetooth connection instructions for more details.

Play / Pause button: plays and pauses any media being played.

Loop / Cycle button: repeats the currently played track.

Rewind button: plays previous track.

Forward button: plays next track.

How do I connect my smartphone or MP3 player to the RZ V3 Portable PA via Bluetooth?

To connect your Bluetooth enabled smartphone or MP3 player, ensure that your device and your RZ V3 Portable PA are both switched ON and that Bluetooth is running on your device.

On the portable PA, press and hold the Mode button on your media player until you see four dashes (—-) and a small Bluetooth logo; these will both flash on and off until you are connected. The Portable PA is now ‘discoverable’.

In the Bluetooth settings of your device (smartphone, tablet, etc), search for the Portable PA in the list of available devices. The Portable PA will appear under the name ‘Bluetooth’.

Once you have chosen this option you should now be connected via Bluetooth to the Portable PA.

Play some music on your audio device and adjust the volume on the PA until you hear the signal. Congratulations you are now connected via Bluetooth!

Will my device remember the PA for future Bluetooth connections?

On most Bluetooth enabled phones and MP3 players after you have paired the device once with the PA, your device will ‘remember’ the PA and connect whenever the PA is discoverable (see above).

What is the default Bluetooth password for the PA if asked?

If asked, the default password for the PA is: 0000

Does the RZ10A active speaker have a Digital Media Player or Bluetooth?

The RZ10A active speaker does not include a Digital Media Player or Bluetooth connectivity. All other controls remain the same.

What should I do if the media player screen flickers when using the unit on battery power?

Please note that when using the unit powered by the built-in battery, the media player screen may flicker if the battery voltage is low. If this occurs, please turn off the portable PA and charge the battery via the mains.

How often should I charge the unit if I don’t use it frequently?

If you do not use the unit frequently, please charge the unit every three months to keep the battery in good condition.

What should I do after I have finished charging the unit?

Always turn the unit off after you have finished charging.

What precautions should I take when making connections to the portable PA?

Always ensure that volume controls on your PA are turned to zero and that its power is switched OFF when making connections.

Use appropriate cables.

What should I be careful about regarding audio levels?

Do not overload the audio as this may result in damage to the speakers.
