How should I place my JBL HLS620 speakers for the best sound?
Proper placement of the speakers is an important step in obtaining the most realistic soundstage possible. The following recommendations are for the optimum placement of the loudspeakers.
For the JBL HLS620, the speakers should be placed so they form a triangle with the listening position. The angle from the listener to the two speakers should be between 40 and 60 degrees. Use these placement recommendations as a guide. Slight variations will not diminish your listening pleasure.
Can I place my JBL HLS620 speakers near a television?
Yes. All of the HLS Series loudspeakers, including the JBL HLS620, are video-shielded and can safely be placed near a television.
How do I correctly connect my JBL HLS620 speakers to an amplifier?
Speakers and electronics terminals have corresponding (+) and (-) terminals. It is important to connect both speakers identically: (+) on the speaker to (+) on the amplifier and (-) on the speaker to (-) on the amplifier. Wiring “out of phase” results in thin sound, weak bass and a poor stereo image.
What should I do if there is no sound coming from any of my JBL HLS620 speakers?
If there is no sound from any of the speakers, check the following:
• Receiver/amplifier is on and a source is playing.
• Review proper operation of your receiver/amplifier.
What troubleshooting steps should I take if there is no sound from only one of my JBL HLS620 speakers?
If there is no sound coming from one speaker, check the following:
• Check the “Balance” control on your receiver/amplifier.
• Check all wires and connections between receiver/amplifier and speakers.
• Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut, or punctured.
What can I do if my JBL HLS620 system plays at low volumes but shuts off when the volume is increased?
If the system plays at low volumes but shuts off as volume is increased, check the following:
• Check all wires and connections between receiver/amplifier and speakers.
• Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut, or punctured.
• If more than one pair of main speakers is being used, check the minimum impedance requirements of your receiver/amplifier.
How can I fix low bass output on my JBL HLS620 speakers?
If there is low bass output, check the following:
• Make sure the polarities (+ and -) of the left and right “Speaker Inputs” are connected properly.
