What are the ducting requirements for the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28?

To reduce the risk of fire or personal injury and to properly exhaust air, follow these requirements for the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28:

1. Duct air to the outside. Do not vent exhaust air into spaces within walls, attics, ceilings, crawl spaces, or garages.

2. Make the duct run as short and straight as possible.

3. Do not use duct pipe smaller than the outlet duct opening on the hood, as this will reduce performance and void the warranty.

4. Do not use flex ducting.

5. Use only smooth metal ducting.

6. Use either a Roof Cap or Wall Cap to end the run.

7. Ensure all joints are taped securely in place.


What are the recommendations for using elbows in the duct run for the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28?

Avoid using elbows if at all possible. If elbows are used with the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28, the manufacturer recommends that the first elbow is 24 inches from the vent opening on the hood (minimum of 6 inches) and at least 24 inches between it and the next elbow. It is strongly recommended to have no more than two 90-degree elbows in any duct run.

How do I install the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28 Powered Liner?

Follow these steps to install the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28 Powered Liner:

1. Scribe a line below the top of the cabinet to meet with the bottom of the hood. Repeat on the opposite cabinet.

2. Position a 4” x 11 1/4” x 3/4” wood block flat on the side of the cabinet with the end of the filler block against the wall and secure with screws. Remove Filters.

3. Raise and position the Power Liner so that the bottom is level with the scribed lines on the cabinets and drive screws through holes in the ends of the Powered Liner. Use the exclusive positioning kit if needed. The duct pipe or pipes should slip into the Automatic Seal Vent Collar. Ensure the black tape holding the Damper blades closed is removed.

4. If additional mounting is required at the rear of the unit, locate wall studs, drill holes through the back of the Powered Liner to hit studs, and attach the Liner to the wall with screws. Note: Island and Peninsula Powered Liners should be mounted in the same way except there will be no rear wall mount.

5. Bring conduit down 4” past the bottom of the liner.

6. Remove the junction box cover from the unit (ensure compliance with all local electrical and safety codes).

7. Hook up electrical wires and secure/reattach the junction box.

8. Replace the junction box cover. Install lights and replace filters.


Can I transition two pipes into one for the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28 Twin Units?

No. For Twin Units like the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28, transitioning two pipes into one is NOT recommended. Doing so reduces CFMs by 25% and will void the Performance warranty.


How do I install the baffle filters in the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28?

To install Baffle Filters in the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28:

1. Install the grease tray towards the back of the liner.

2. Take one baffle and slide it between the steel strips towards the front of the liner.

3. Push back into the grease tray grooves, then slide it to one side.

4. Insert the second baffle the same way and slide it to the opposite side.

5. Ensure grease holes on the bottom of the baffle are inserted into the grease tray.

6. Take the Center Panel and slide it in towards the front of the liner and push back into the grease tray.


How do I remove and clean the Baffle Filters on the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28?

To remove the Baffle Filters for cleaning:

1. Remove the center panel by pulling the panel toward the front of the hood, then lift up to remove.

2. Move the filters to the center of the hood.

3. Pull the baffle towards the front of the hood and lift out.

4. To remove the grease tray, slide the tray to the top of the hood and lift out.

Clean filters often for best performance. Wash with mild, soapy water only.


How should I clean the surface of the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28?

For painted hoods, wash with mild, soapy water ONLY. Wipe the hood thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth. For Stainless Steel, use a cleaner specifically for Stainless Steel. Always rub with the grain using non-abrasive cleaning materials. Do not use detergents, disinfectants, cleaning products in aerosol cans, or abrasive scouring powders, as they may damage the hood finish.


What type of light bulbs should be used with the IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28?

Refer to the specific lighting configuration of your IMPERIAL C2000PS1-TW-28 model:

1. Exposed Center Panel Lights: Use Incandescent 50 Watt Halogen (Par 20).

2. Recessed (Behind grease filters): Use Incandescent 75 Watt Bulbs.

3. Exposed Front Panel Lights: Use Halogen 50 Watt Flood Lights (Par 20).

Warning: Do not use Halogen bulbs in sockets not intended for their use. Bulbs are not included.

4. Do not use water, including wet dishcloths or towels, as a violent steam explosion will result.

5. Use an extinguisher only if you have a Class ABC extinguisher and know how to use it, the fire is small and contained, the fire department is being called, and you can fight the fire with your back to an exit.
