When the IDX IPL-98 battery pack is not used for more than 10 days, the output is automatically turned off. Please press the check button to activate it before use.
What are the safety warnings for using the IDX IPL-98 battery?
Charge with IDX battery chargers only. Do not charge with another manufacturer’s charger.
Connecting PowerLink diagonally will cause damage to the connector terminals. Please be sure to link correctly in a vertical direction.
When not in use, please keep the battery isolated and not linked to another battery.
PowerLink should only be implemented with IDX V-Mount batteries. Never connect equipment (AC-100, A-NH2E, etc.) or other manufacturer’s batteries.
How do I operate the check button on the IDX IPL-98 battery?
The check button on the IDX IPL-98 operates the remaining amount display, USB ON, communication mode switching, and accessory cutoff function switching. The following table describes the operations:

How do I turn on the V-Torch LED light on the IDX IPL-98?
The V-Torch (LED light) on the IDX IPL-98 turns on when the check button is pressed twice. It automatically turns off after 10 seconds or if it is pressed twice again.
What does it mean when the LED on my IDX IPL-98 blinks 3 times?
When the battery temperature of the IDX IPL-98 rises and exceeds the chargeable temperature range, the LED blinks 3 times after displaying the capacity.
What are the main features of the IDX IPL-98 battery?
PowerLink: Up to four IPL-98 batteries or IDX made V-mount batteries can be linked to be used as a large capacity battery. They can be stacked and charged with the dedicated charger (VL-2000S).
Digital Communication: The battery has a digital communication function that can display the battery capacity in % or remaining time in the viewfinder of a compatible video camera. The communication mode can be switched between SB or IB mode.
Capacity Display: When the check button is pressed or discharging is started, the remaining capacity is displayed in 10 stages (10% increments) for 2.5 seconds by 5 indicator LEDs. During charging, capacity is displayed in 5 stages.
DISCHARGE LED: This LED lights for 2.5 seconds when the check button is pressed during discharge or at the start of discharge. With PowerLink, it lights when discharging and flashes when not discharging.
DC and USB Output: It features two DC output connectors for peripheral equipment. D-Tap2 is compatible with charging. It also has a USB power output for charging a portable device.
Protection Function: It has overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, and temperature protection functions for safe use. Do not exceed the maximum discharge power/current. At high temperature/high load, a fuse may blow.
How do I connect multiple IDX IPL-98 batteries using the PowerLink feature?
When using PowerLink with the IDX IPL-98, slide the batteries in a vertical down direction while keeping them in close contact with each other, until you hear a “click” sound. When correctly connected, the indicator LED will flash twice.
How do I disconnect IDX IPL-98 batteries that are connected via PowerLink?
To disconnect the IDX IPL-98 batteries, push the release lever upwards and inwards, and then move the battery vertically upwards.
