When should the fuser kit be replaced?
Replace the fuser when the printer control panel displays REPLACE FUSER KIT. For help press ?.
How do I replace the fuser kit?
1. Using the side handles, open the top cover.
CAUTION: The fuser might be hot. Wait 10 minutes before proceeding.
2. Completely loosen the blue thumb screws on either side of the fuser.
3. Grasp the ends and pull straight up to remove the fuser.
4. Remove the new fuser from the bag.
5. Place the used fuser in the bag for recycling.
6. Grasp the sides of the new fuser and lower it into the printer. Press firmly to seat it in position.
7. Tighten the blue thumb screws.
8. Close the top cover. After a short while, the control panel should display NEW FUSER KIT=.
How do I reset the fuser count after installing a new fuser kit?
On the control panel, press ▼ to highlight YES, then press ✓ to reset the fuser count.
How should I handle the used fuser?
Place the used fuser in the bag that the new fuser came in for recycling. See the enclosed recycling guide for recycling instructions.
