Please adhere to the following safety and warning guidelines for your HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8:

• This device contains a button lithium battery that shall be stored and disposed properly.

• DO NOT expose the device to moisture.

Additionally, before using the device for the first time, please remove the protective film from the battery.

Follow these steps for a quick start with your HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8:

Step 1: Turn on your remote control.

Step 2: Activate inclusion mode on your Z-Wave controller.

Step 3: Activate the inclusion mode of your remote control by pressing and holding down both the I and O buttons of Group 2 together for over 3 seconds.

The HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8 remote control has the following functions:

1. Control of groups of other Z-Wave devices using ON, OFF, and Dim commands.

2. Activation of scenes in Gateway mode.

To add your HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8 to a Z-Wave network, follow these steps:

Step 1. First, ensure the remote does not already belong to a Z-Wave network. Short press any button. If the LED indicator does not turn on, the remote does not belong to a network, and you can proceed to step 2. If the LED indicator turns on, the remote has already been added to a network. You must first remove it before proceeding.

Step 2. Set your primary controller/gateway into adding mode. Please refer to your primary controller’s manual for instructions on how to do this.

Step 3. Press and hold down both buttons I and O of Group 2 for over 3 seconds. The LED indicator will turn on, indicating the remote is in adding mode and waiting to be added. After 10 seconds, the LED indicator will blink 6 times quickly to indicate a successful addition. The remote control will then remain active for 30s with the LED solid on; please be patient and wait for the LED indicator to turn off.

There are two methods to remove the HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8 from a Z-Wave network:

Method 1: Removing from the primary controller/gateway

1. Set the primary controller/gateway into removing mode. (Please refer to your primary controller’s manual on how to set your controller into removing).

2. Press and hold down both buttons I and O of Group 2 for over 3 seconds. The LED indicator will turn on, the remote control will be set to removing mode, and after 7 seconds the LED indicator will blink 4 times quickly to indicate successful removal.

Method 2: Factory reset

A factory reset will force the remote control to be removed from a network. Note: This method is not recommended for removing and should only be used if the primary controller/gateway is missing or otherwise inoperable.

To check the network status of your HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8, short press any button. If the LED indicator does not turn on, the remote control does not belong to any network. If the LED indicator turns on, it means the remote control has already been added to a network. If the device is already part of a network, you must follow the removing process before you can add it to a new network.

To perform a factory reset on the HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8, press and hold down both buttons I and O of Group 2 together for over 10 seconds. The LED indicator will turn on and then blink 4 times quickly to indicate a successful factory reset.

Add/Remove from Z-Wave Network:

Press and hold down both keys together (I and O of Group 2) for 3 seconds to be added to or removed from a Z-Wave network by the master (primary) controller.

Group 2 (Top row of buttons):

• Left “I” button: Click to turn on. Press and hold down to increase light intensity.

• Right “O” button: Click to turn off. Press and hold down to decrease light intensity.

Group 3:

Corresponds to the second row of buttons.

Group 4:

Corresponds to the third row of buttons.

Group 5:

Corresponds to the bottom row of buttons.

The HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8 supports 5 association groups. Each group supports a maximum of 5 nodes for association.

Note: All association information will be cleared automatically once the remote control is excluded from a network.

There are two methods to set associations:

1. Set association by operating the primary controller/gateway:

Send an association command to the remote control from your primary controller/gateway using “Command Class ASSOCIATION” or “Command Class Multi Channel Association”. The remote control must be activated first; if it is not active, you must activate it manually.

2. Set association by operating the remote control and devices to be controlled:

This is a three-step process to assign a Z-Wave device to an association group:

Step 1. Press and hold down both buttons I and O of Group 2 for over 3 seconds. The LED indicator will turn on.

Step 2. Within 7 seconds, short press the I button of any group to associate the device to that group, or short press the O button of any group to remove the association of the device from that group.

Step 3. Operate the device to be controlled to send a Node Information Frame within 10 seconds (please refer to the device manual), or set the device to exclusion mode within 10 seconds. The LED will indicate the result:

• LED blinks twice: The remote control failed to add the associated device (the association group has already reached the maximum number of devices it supports).

• LED blinks 5 times: The remote control successfully added the associated device.

• LED blinks 8 times: The remote control successfully removed the associated device.

To remove all associated devices in an association group directly from the remote control:

1. Press and hold down both buttons I and O of Group 2 for over 3 seconds. The LED indicator will turn on.

2. Click the OFF (O) button of any group 5 times continuously within 7 seconds. This will remove all associated devices from that group. The LED indicator will blink 8 times to confirm that the associated devices were removed successfully.

• Scene Activation (Group 1): Short press or press and hold down any button to send a scene activation command to association Group 1 using Command Class “Central Scene Notification V3”.

• Group 2 Control:

Short press the I/O button of Group 2 to send an ON/OFF command to all associated devices of Association Group 2.

Press and hold down the I/O button of Group 2 to send a light intensity increase/decrease command to all associated devices of Association Group 2.

• Group 3 Control:

Short press the I/O button of Group 3 to send an ON/OFF command to all associated devices of Association Group 3.

Press and hold down the I/O button of Group 3 to send a light intensity increase/decrease command to all associated devices of Association Group 3.

• Group 4 Control:

Short press the I/O button of Group 4 to send an ON/OFF command to all associated devices of Association Group 4.

Press and hold down the I/O button of Group 4 to send a light intensity increase/decrease command to all associated devices of Association Group 4.

• Group 5 Control:

Short press the I/O button of Group 5 to send an ON/OFF command to all associated devices of Association Group 5.

Press and hold down the I/O button of Group 5 to send a light intensity increase/decrease command to all associated devices of Association Group 5.

The HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8 is in a sleepy mode most of the time to save battery power and cannot receive wireless commands. To interact with it from a gateway, you must first activate it manually.

• To activate the remote control for 3 seconds: Short press any button.

• To activate the remote control for 7 seconds: Press and hold down the I and O buttons of Group 2 together for over 1 second.

The Node Information Frame is the business card of a Z-Wave device, containing information about the device type and technical capabilities. To send a Node Information Frame from your HEATIT Z-PUSH BUTTON 8, set the wall controller into adding/removing mode by pressing and holding down both I and O buttons of Group 2 for over 3 seconds. The LED indicator will turn on to confirm the wall controller has sent out the Node Information Frame. You can repeat this operation to exit “adding/removing mode”.
