What are the main components of the HAHNEL CAPTUR Transmitter and Receiver?

The HAHNEL CAPTUR system consists of a Transmitter and a Receiver with the following components:

Transmitter:

• LED light

• Release / DCM Button

• On/off switch

• Camera Hotshoe Mount

• Battery Compartment

Receiver:

• LED light

• Test / DCM Button

• On/off switch

• Hotshoe (for flash mount)

• Camera/Tripod Mount

• Cable Port

• Battery Compartment


What type of batteries does the HAHNEL CAPTUR use?

The HAHNEL CAPTUR system requires a total of 4 x AA Alkaline Batteries. Please insert all batteries provided before use.


How do I use the HAHNEL CAPTUR for camera remote control?

To use the HAHNEL CAPTUR as a camera remote, follow these steps:

1. Identify the correct cable for your camera. The end that plugs into the receiver has a plug with 3 black lines. For the P1 cable, the receiver end plug is grey.

2. Connect the identified plug into the Cable Port on the Receiver. Ensure it is pushed in fully.

3. Connect the other end of the cable to your camera’s remote port.

4. To autofocus, perform a half-push (1/2 Push) on the Transmitter’s Release button. The LED light will turn green.

5. To take a picture, perform a full push on the Transmitter’s Release button. This will trigger the shutter release, and the LED light will turn red.


How do I use the HAHNEL CAPTUR for remote flash control?

To use the HAHNEL CAPTUR for remote flash control, please follow these instructions:

1. Mount the Transmitter onto your camera’s hotshoe.

2. Mount your external flash onto the hotshoe of the Receiver.

3. Ensure your flash is set to Manual mode. The HAHNEL CAPTUR does not transmit TTL signals.


How do I use the continuous shooting and Bulb function on the HAHNEL CAPTUR?

For bulb mode and continuous shooting with the HAHNEL CAPTUR, push and hold the button on the transmitter for 3 seconds to lock it. The LED on the transmitter will flash red while it is locked. To release the lock and stop shooting, perform a full push on the button once.


How do I perform Digital Channel Matching (DCM) on my HAHNEL CAPTUR?

Follow these steps to sync your HAHNEL CAPTUR Transmitter and Receiver using Digital Channel Matching:

a. Transmitter: Press and hold the button, then turn the switch to “ON”. The LED will flash green rapidly.

b. Receiver: Press and hold the button, then turn the switch to “ON”. The LED will show a steady red light once synced.

c. DCM is complete. Turn both the Receiver and Transmitter “OFF” and then “ON” again to reboot and use them.

Note: For syncing multiple Receivers, repeat step “b” for all receivers without turning off the transmitter.


How do I perform Open Channel Matching on the HAHNEL CAPTUR?

To use the Open Channel Matching feature on your HAHNEL CAPTUR, follow this procedure:

a. Transmitter: Press and hold the button, then turn the switch to “ON”. Continue to hold the button down. The LED will change from flashing rapidly green to a solid red.

b. Receiver: Press and hold the button, then turn the switch to “ON”. Continue to hold the button down. The LED will change from flashing rapidly green to a solid red.

c. All devices are now in open channel mode. Turn the Receiver and Transmitter “OFF” and then “ON” again to reboot.

Note: For multiple Transmitters, repeat step “a”. For multiple receivers, repeat step “b”.


Can I control my camera and an off-camera flash at the same time with the HAHNEL CAPTUR?

Yes, but this requires two separate sets of the HAHNEL CAPTUR. Each set must be synced separately on different channels. To ensure the camera and the flash gun are in sync, the flash receivers must be triggered from a transmitter that is mounted on the camera.


What optional accessories are available for the HAHNEL CAPTUR?

The following accessories are available to expand the functionality of your HAHNEL CAPTUR:

Captur Module – Pro: A wireless universal trigger remote featuring settings for Motion & Wildlife, Time Lapse, High-Speed Photography, 4 built-in sensors, and an Infra-Red sensor.

Captur Module – Timer: A fully programmable wireless timer remote for Time Lapse & Long Exposure, with a Self/Interval timer and exposure count.

Captur Receiver: An additional receiver to trigger more than one flash or camera simultaneously from a single transmitter.

Studio Light Cable: A cable to connect and trigger studio lights. Note: It is not recommended to use high sync voltage studio lights with the Captur as it may damage the unit.


What are the safety warnings for using the HAHNEL CAPTUR?

Please observe the following warnings when using the HAHNEL CAPTUR:

• Do not modify the product.

• Keep the receiver and transmitter dry at all times.

• Do not use in the presence of flammable gas.

• Keep out of the reach of children.

• Do not expose to excessive temperatures or strong direct sunlight.

• Do not leave the unit in the trunk or on the dashboard of a vehicle.

• Overheating can result in leaking, fire or explosion.

• Observe correct polarity when inserting batteries.

• Dispose of the unit in accordance with appropriate environmental regulations.

• Take the batteries out of the unit if it is stored for an extended period of time.
