To connect your FANTECH MAXFIT61 MK857, first plug the Type-C cable into the keyboard. Then, connect the keyboard to your computer by inserting the USB jack into your computer’s USB port.

1. Remove keycap

Use the keycap puller tool to clamp on a keycap and pull upwards to detach the keycap from the switch. Sometimes the switch may come out as well if the keycap is tightly secured on the switch, which is normal. For longer keys such as the space bar, always clamp and remove from the MIDDLE of the keycap.

2. Remove switch

Use the switch puller to push in the two tabs located on the top and bottom side of the switch. Once they’re pushed in, pull upwards to remove the switch from the keyboard case. It is very easy to scratch your keyboard case with this tool, so please take caution when removing switches! If the switch does not light up, it means the pins were not inserted properly. Remove the switch, and make sure the pins are straight, then insert again.

Note: It is best to swap switches while your keyboard is plugged in to your PC.

3. Insert switch

When inserting a new switch, align the switch to the holes on the keyboard, and insert straight down. There should be minimal resistance and the switch should pop into the frame of the keyboard. It is recommended at this time to have a text editor open on your PC to ensure the switch works when you press it. If the switch does not show up on your PC when you press it, then the switch was not inserted properly. Remove the switch, and make sure the pins are straight, then insert again.

Note: It is safe to swap switches while your keyboard is plugged in to your PC.

4. Insert keycap

Once you have confirmed the switch was properly inserted, snap back in the appropriate keycap.

Brightness:

FN + ; : Brightness –

Note: The Tab key and Caps lock will blink 3 times when the speed or brightness has reached the minimum or maximum LED brightness threshold.

Press FN + Space bar to reset the keyboard settings.

The magic key allows you to press the FN key, which gives you quick access to your media profile by pressing the T,Y,U,G,H,J keys. It gives you quick access to the lighting mode by pressing the F,G,H keys. The Home, page up, page down functions are on Caps lock.

To activate this feature, press FN + Magic FN.

Note: The FN key will light up with a white LED when Magic Fn is ON.

Device

On the top left, you can date customize your keyboard keys using these two options: APP mode and On-board Editor.

APP mode

In this mode, you can select a key for function replacement. You can choose from key replacement, macro, multimedia keys, and more. After selecting the desired function, press OK.

Note: In APP mode, the function of button customization can only be used when the software is open. The function of customization can only be saved on the keyboard when the keyboard is connected to the computer with the downloaded software.

On-board Editor

In this mode, you can select a key for function replacement. You can choose from key replacement, macro, multimedia keys, and more. After selecting the desired function, press OK.

Note: In On-board editing mode, the interactive light effect is invalid. The keyboard must be unplugged and replugged to save the keyboard according to the customized content. You can set up two key configurations: the default layer and the FN layer. The Default layer is for direct sending the code. The FN layer can be used by combining with the custom FN key.

You can select from 16 preset illumination modes. In these illumination modes, you can customize the speed and the brightness.

To make a new macro, select the macro bar, add a new macro, and input the name. Then click the “Record” button, and input the actions. Once you are finished, press the record button again. You can choose to edit the delay time between actions in the macro.

You can modify the macro by inputting more actions. To do this, press the “Record” button to record another section. After you input more actions, press the record button again. You can also edit the key in the property section, then press modify.

Note: You can only input a maximum of 20 actions.
