The EPSON EB-FH06 projector supports the following functions and features:

The EPSON EB-FH06 includes several features for a quick and easy setup:

Direct Power On: Allows the projector to turn on as soon as you plug it in.

Auto Power On: The projector turns on automatically when it detects an image signal from a specified port.

Home screen feature: Easily select an input source and access useful functions.

Automatic vertical keystone correction (Auto V-Keystone): Automatically corrects the image to be a rectangle.

Horizontal keystone slider: Allows you to quickly correct horizontal distortion in the projected image.

For the best results with your EPSON EB-FH06, follow these placement guidelines:

Surface: Place the projector on a sturdy, level surface.

Ventilation: Leave plenty of space around and under the projector for ventilation. Do not place it on top of or next to anything that could block the vents.

Angle: Place the projector so it squarely faces the screen, not at an angle. If you cannot place it squarely, use the keystone correction controls. For the best quality, we recommend adjusting the installation position to achieve the correct image size and shape without keystone correction.

High Altitude: If using the projector at altitudes above 1,500 m, set the High Altitude Mode to On in the Extended > Operation menu to regulate the internal temperature properly.

You can set up or install your EPSON EB-FH06 in the following ways:

Front/Rear: This includes placing the projector on a table in front of or behind the screen.

Front Ceiling/Rear Ceiling: This involves mounting the projector on the ceiling in front of or behind the screen. An optional ceiling mount is required for this setup.

After installation, you must select the correct Projection option in the projector’s Extended menu to orient the image correctly.

To connect your EPSON EB-FH06 to a computer for VGA video and audio, follow these steps:

1. Connect one end of the VGA computer cable to your computer’s monitor port.

2. Connect the other end to a Computer port on the projector.

3. Tighten the screws on the VGA connector to secure it.

4. For audio, connect a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack audio cable to your computer’s headphone or audio-out jack.

5. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the Audio port on the projector that corresponds to the Computer port you are using.

If your computer meets the system requirements, you can send video and audio to your EPSON EB-FH06 projector through a USB port. This is called USB Display.

1. Connect a USB cable to your projector’s USB-B port.

2. Connect the other end to any available USB port on your computer.

3. Turn on the projector and your computer.

4. The first time you connect, you will need to install the Epson USB Display software. Follow the on-screen prompts to install it.

5. Follow any on-screen instructions. Do not disconnect the USB cable or turn off the projector until the image is displayed.

The projector will then display the image from your computer’s desktop and output sound if your presentation contains audio.

To connect a device with an HDMI port to your EPSON EB-FH06, follow these steps:

1. Connect the HDMI cable to your computer’s or video source’s HDMI output port. Make sure the video source is turned off before connecting.

2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to one of the projector’s HDMI ports (HDMI1 or HDMI2).

If you have problems hearing audio through the HDMI connection, you can connect a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack audio cable from the device’s audio out port to the projector’s corresponding Audio port. You will then need to select the audio input port in the projector’s Extended menu (A/V Settings > Audio Settings).

If your video source has a composite video port, you can connect it to your EPSON EB-FH06 projector using an RCA-style cable.

1. Connect the cable with the yellow connector to your video source’s yellow video output port.

2. Connect the other end to the projector’s Video port.

3. To play sound, connect the red and white connectors of the audio cable to your video source’s audio-out ports.

4. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the projector’s L-Audio-R ports.

You can project images and other content from a USB flash drive, digital camera, or USB hard drive directly with your EPSON EB-FH06 without using a computer.

1. If your USB device has a power adapter, plug it into an electrical outlet.

2. Connect the USB cable or USB flash drive to the projector’s USB-A port.

3. Press the [USB] button on the remote control to start your PC Free presentation.

Note: USB hard drives must be formatted in FAT16/32 and be self-powered. Digital cameras must be USB Mass Storage Class-compliant.

The remote control for your EPSON EB-FH06 uses two AA batteries.

1. Remove the battery cover as shown in the diagram in the manual.

2. Remove the old batteries, if necessary. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

3. Insert the new batteries with the + and – ends facing as shown inside the battery holder.

4. Replace the battery cover and press it down until it clicks into place.

You can control the EPSON EB-FH06 projector from almost anywhere in the room. Aim the remote control at the projector’s receivers within the distance and angles listed:

Distance: Up to 6 meters (approx. 20 feet).

Angle (Horizontal): Within 30 degrees to the left and right of the projector’s sensor.

Angle (Vertical): Within 15 degrees above and below the projector’s sensor.

Avoid using the remote control in conditions with bright fluorescent lights or in direct sunlight, as the projector may not respond to commands.

To open the lens cover: Slide the A/V Mute slide lever until it clicks. This will begin projection.

To close the lens cover: Slide the A/V Mute slide lever back to its original position. This will cover the lens and temporarily turn off the projected image and sound (A/V Mute).

Note: The projector’s power automatically turns off 30 minutes after A/V Mute is enabled. You can disable this feature in the ECO menu.

Follow these steps to turn on your EPSON EB-FH06:

1. Connect the power cord to the projector’s power inlet and plug it into an electrical outlet. The power indicator will turn blue, indicating it is in standby mode.

2. Press the power button on the control panel or the remote control.

3. The projector will beep and the status indicator will flash blue as it warms up. Once warmed up, the status indicator stops flashing and turns solid blue.

4. Open the projector’s lens cover by sliding the A/V Mute lever.

5. Turn on your connected computer or video equipment.

If you do not see an image, press the [Source Search] button to detect the input source.

If you do not see a projected image from your EPSON EB-FH06, try the following:

Verify the lens cover is open all the way.

Turn on the connected computer or video device.

Change the screen output from the computer if you are using a laptop.

Insert a DVD or other video media, and press play (if necessary).

Press the [Source Search] button on the control panel or remote control to detect the source.

Press the button for the desired video source on the remote control (e.g., [HDMI]).

If the Home screen is displayed, select the source you want to project.

To turn off your EPSON EB-FH06 after use:

1. Press the power button on the control panel or remote control.

2. The projector displays a shutdown confirmation screen.

3. Press the power button again. (To leave it on, press any other button.)

The projected image will disappear, the projector beeps twice, and the status indicator turns off. With Epson’s Instant Off technology, there is no cool-down period required.

4. To transport or store the projector, make sure the power indicator is blue (not flashing) and the status indicator is off, then unplug the power cord.

5. Close the projector’s lens cover.

You can change the language of the projector’s menus and messages by following these steps:

1. Turn on the projector.

2. Press the [Menu] button on the control panel or remote control.

3. Select the Extended menu and press [Enter].

4. Select the Language setting and press [Enter].

5. Select the language you want to use and press [Enter].

6. Press [Menu] or [Esc] to exit the menus.

Depending on how you have positioned your EPSON EB-FH06, you may need to change the projection mode to orient the image correctly.

Available Modes:

Front: For projecting from a table in front of the screen.

Front/Ceiling: Flips the image top-to-bottom for projecting from a ceiling or wall mount.

Rear: Flips the image horizontally for projecting from behind a translucent screen.

Rear/Ceiling: Flips the image top-to-bottom and horizontally for projecting from a ceiling mount behind a translucent screen.

How to Change the Projection Mode:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the [Menu] button.

3. Select the Extended menu and press [Enter].

4. Select Projection and press [Enter].

5. Select your desired projection mode and press [Enter].

6. Press [Menu] or [Esc] to exit.

You can display a test pattern to help adjust the projected image without needing a connected computer or video device.

1. Turn on the projector.

2. Press the [Menu] button on the control panel or remote control.

3. Select the Settings menu and press [Enter].

4. Select Pattern > Test Pattern, and press [Enter].

5. The test pattern will be displayed. You can now adjust the image as necessary.

6. Press [Esc] to clear the test pattern.

If the image is too high or low when projecting from a flat surface, you can use the projector’s adjustable feet.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. To adjust the front foot, pull up on the foot release lever and lift the front of the projector. The foot will extend.

3. Release the lever to lock the foot in place. You can adjust the position up to approximately 12 degrees.

4. If the image is tilted horizontally, rotate the rear feet to adjust their height until the image is level.

If your projected image is not a perfect rectangle, you can correct its shape using several methods on your EPSON EB-FH06. After correction, the image will be slightly smaller.

Auto V-Keystone: When the projector is moved or tilted, it automatically corrects vertical keystone distortion. This works for projection angles up to about 30 degrees up or down.

Horizontal Keystone Slider: Use the slider on top of the projector to correct the shape of an image that is an uneven horizontal rectangle, for example, when the projector is placed to the side of the screen. This is effective for angles up to 30 degrees right or left.

Keystone Buttons:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press one of the keystone adjustment buttons on the control panel to display the Keystone adjustment screen.

3. Press a keystone button to adjust the image shape.

Quick Corner: For more precise adjustments:

1. Press the [Menu] button.

2. Select the Settings menu and press [Enter].

3. Select Keystone and press [Enter].

4. Select Quick Corner and press [Enter].

5. Use the arrow buttons to select the corner of the image you want to adjust, then press [Enter].

6. Press the arrow buttons to adjust the shape as needed. Repeat for other corners.

7. When finished, press [Esc].

You can adjust the size and focus of the projected image using the rings on the lens of your EPSON EB-FH06.

To resize the image:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Rotate the zoom ring to enlarge or reduce the image size.

To focus the image:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Rotate the focus ring until the image is sharp and clear.

When multiple sources like a computer and a Blu-ray player are connected, you can switch between them using one of these methods:

Source Search Button: Press the [Source Search] button on the control panel or remote control repeatedly until you see the image from the source you want.

Direct Source Buttons: On the remote control, press the button for the source you want (e.g., [HDMI], [Computer]). If there is more than one port for that source, press the button again to cycle through them (e.g., HDMI1, HDMI2).

Home Screen: Press the [Home] button on the control panel or remote control, then select the desired source from the screen that appears.

Your EPSON EB-FH06 offers different color modes to optimize brightness, contrast, and color for various environments and image types.

To Change the Color Mode:

1. Turn on the projector and switch to the image source you want to use.

2. Press the [Color Mode] button on the remote control.

3. The name of the Color Mode appears on the screen. Press the button repeatedly to cycle through the available modes.

Available Color Modes:

You can control the volume of the projector’s internal speaker system.

1. Turn on the projector and start a presentation.

2. To lower or raise the volume, press the [Volume] buttons on the control panel or remote control.

A volume gauge will appear on the screen to show the current level. You must adjust the volume separately for each connected input source.

You can use the A/V Mute function to temporarily stop projection and mute sound, which is useful for redirecting your audience’s attention. The source video or audio will continue to run in the background.

To activate A/V Mute: Press the [A/V Mute] button on the remote control or close the A/V Mute slide lever on the projector.

To resume projection: Press the [A/V Mute] button again or open the slide lever.

Note that the projector’s lamp is still operating during A/V Mute, and the projector will automatically power off after 30 minutes unless this timer is disabled in the ECO menu.

You can temporarily stop the action in a video or presentation and keep the current image on the screen.

To freeze the image: Press the [Freeze] button on the remote control.

To restart the video action: Press the [Freeze] button again.

Any sound or video action from the source continues to run in the background while the image is frozen.

You can zoom in or out of the projected image using the [E-Zoom] buttons on the remote control.

To Zoom In:

1. Press the [E-Zoom] + button on the remote control. The image is enlarged around the center.

2. To zoom in further, press the [E-Zoom] + button repeatedly. You can enlarge the image up to four times.

3. To pan around the zoomed image, use the arrow buttons.

4. To zoom out, press the [E-Zoom] – button.

To Zoom Out:

1. Press the [E-Zoom] – button on the remote control. The image is reduced.

2. You can reduce the image between 100% and 50%.

3. To move the zoomed-out image in the projection area, use the arrow buttons.

To return to the original image size from either mode, press the [Default] button.

Regular cleaning helps maintain the performance of your EPSON EB-FH06 projector. Before cleaning, always turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.

Cleaning the Lens:

For dust or smudges: Gently wipe the lens with lens-cleaning paper.

For stubborn smudges: Moisten a soft, lint-free cloth with lens cleaner and gently wipe the lens. Do not spray any liquid directly on the lens.

Warning: Do not use a lens cleaner that contains flammable gas.

Cleaning the Projector Case:

For dust or dirt: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.

For stubborn dirt: Use a soft cloth moistened with water and mild soap. Do not spray liquid directly on the projector.

Attention: Do not use wax, alcohol, benzene, paint thinner, or other chemicals, as they can damage the case.

Regular filter maintenance is important to prevent your EPSON EB-FH06 from overheating. Clean the filter when a message appears or if it is visibly dusty.

To Clean the Air Filter and Vents:

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.

2. Use a small vacuum designed for computers or a very soft brush to gently remove dust from the air filter and vents.

3. If dust is difficult to remove or the filter is damaged, you must replace it.

To Replace the Air Filter:

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.

2. Open the air filter cover.

3. Pull the old air filter out of the projector.

4. Place the new air filter in the projector as shown in the manual and push gently until it clicks into place.

5. Close the air filter cover.

Replace the lamp as soon as possible when one of the following occurs:

The projected image gets darker or image quality declines.

A message appears telling you to replace the lamp.

The lamp indicator on the projector is flashing orange.

How to Replace the Lamp:

1. Turn off the projector, unplug the power cord, and allow the lamp to cool for at least one hour.

2. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw securing the lamp cover.

3. Slide the lamp cover out and lift it off.

4. Loosen the screws securing the lamp to the projector. These screws will not come all the way out.

5. Grip the raised section of the lamp and carefully remove it.

6. Gently insert the new lamp. If it does not fit easily, make sure it is facing the correct way.

7. Push the lamp in firmly and tighten the screws to secure it.

8. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its screw.

After replacing the lamp, you must reset the lamp timer.

You must reset the lamp timer after replacing the lamp to clear the replacement message and to accurately monitor the new lamp’s usage.

1. Turn on the projector.

2. Press the [Menu] button, select the Reset menu, and press [Enter].

3. Select Reset Lamp Hours and press [Enter].

4. A confirmation prompt appears. Select Yes and press [Enter].

5. Press [Menu] or [Esc] to exit the menus.

Do not reset the lamp timer if you have not replaced the lamp, as this can lead to inaccurate usage information.

The indicator lights on your EPSON EB-FH06 show the projector’s status. Here are some common patterns:

If the projected image is fuzzy or blurry, try these solutions:

Adjust the image focus using the focus ring on the lens.

Position the projector closer to the screen.

Position the projector so the keystone adjustment angle is not so wide that it distorts the image. It’s best to have the projector as square to the screen as possible.

Clean the projector lens.

If you have brought the projector in from a cold environment, allow it to warm up to room temperature to prevent condensation on the lens.

If the projected image is too dark, too light, or the colors are incorrect, try these solutions:

Press the [Color Mode] button on the remote control to try different color modes for the image and environment (e.g., Cinema, Dynamic).

Check your video source settings to ensure they are correct.

Adjust the settings in the projector’s Image menu, such as Brightness, Contrast, Tint, and Color Saturation.

Make sure you selected the correct Video Signal or Video Range setting in the projector’s Signal menu, if available for your image source.

Make sure all cables are securely connected. Try using shorter cables if you are using long ones.

If you are using ECO as the Power Consumption setting, try selecting Medium or High.

If the image has been progressively darkening over time, you may need to replace the projector lamp.

If your EPSON EB-FH06 has power issues, check the following:

Power Cord: Make sure the power cord is securely connected to both the projector and a working electrical outlet.

Remote Control: If using the remote’s power button, check the batteries.

Locked Buttons: The projector’s control panel buttons may be locked. Use the remote control to turn it on or unlock the buttons in the Settings menu.

Sleep/Mute Timers: If the lamp turns off unexpectedly, it may have entered sleep mode or an A/V mute timer may be enabled. Press a button to wake the projector and disable these timers in the ECO menu if you don’t want to use them.

Overheating: If the lamp turns off and the temp indicator is lit, the projector has overheated. Let it cool down and check for blocked vents or a clogged air filter.

Power Cord Defect: The power cord itself may be defective. Disconnect it and contact Epson for help.

If your remote control does not operate the projector, try these solutions:

Batteries: Check that the batteries are installed correctly and have power. Replace them if necessary.

Range and Angle: Make sure you are within the reception range (about 6 meters) and angle of the projector’s remote receivers.

Projector Status: The projector will not respond to the remote while it is warming up or shutting down.

Interference: Strong fluorescent lighting, direct sunlight, or signals from other infrared devices can interfere with the remote. Dim the lights or move the projector away from the source of interference.

Remote Receiver Setting: Check the Remote Receiver setting in the projector’s Settings menu to ensure the receivers are enabled.
